Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 437

“Just you?”

Hearing Jin Songyang’s words, Captain Dai gave a cold laugh. Two ordinary people, and they thought they could turn the heavens upside down? With that thought, he bellowed, “Men! Take these two lawless thugs down at once!”

As he spoke, Captain Dai raised his gun again and stared icily at Li Feng and Jin Songyang. “If you dare resist, I’ll shoot you both dead right here.”

Swish!

A flash of cold light streaked through the air.

Argh!

A throwing knife buried itself in his wrist. Captain Dai screamed as his pistol clattered to the floor.

In the next instant, Li Feng’s figure blurred. He appeared in front of Captain Dai and sent him flying with a single kick.

Li Feng had already reached the limit of his patience with this man. Now that he was pointing a gun again, why would Li Feng show any mercy?

Bam!

Captain Dai slammed heavily against the wall, then collapsed to the ground. Every bone in his body felt shattered. He looked up at Li Feng in disbelief.

He had never imagined that, even with a gun in his hand, Li Feng would still dare to strike. Was he really not afraid of being shot dead?

“You… you…” Captain Su stared at Li Feng, equally stunned. He knew Li Feng was skilled, that several of his colleagues had been no match for him, but he had never expected Li Feng to attack someone holding a loaded pistol.

Having dealt with Captain Dai, Li Feng turned to Jin Songyang. “Young Master Jin, I’ll leave the rest to you.”

If Captain Dai had not pointed that gun at him, he truly would have preferred not to act. After all, this was ultimately the Jin family’s affair, and with Jin Songyang present, it was not his place to intervene.

“Young Master Feng, I will handle it.” A cold glint flashed through Jin Songyang’s eyes as he took out his phone and made a call.

After ending the call, Jin Songyang said to Li Feng, “Young Master Feng, thank you for today. If it weren’t for you, Xiaoya might have…”

He glanced towards the emergency room, worry filling his eyes. He had no idea how Jin Xiaoya was doing and desperately wanted to rush inside, but reason told him he could only wait.

At the same time, rage burned fiercely within him. If anything happened to Jin Xiaoya, he would make every one of these people pay with their lives.

“Don’t worry. Jin Xiaoya is blessed by heaven. She’ll be fine.” Li Feng reassured him.

“Get them! Take them down…” At that moment, Captain Dai struggled up from the floor and roared maniacally at Li Feng and Jin Songyang.

“Court death.”

Jin Songyang snorted coldly, shot forward like lightning, and punched Captain Dai in the face before he could finish speaking, sending him flying once more.

The remaining police and traffic officers finally reacted and charged at Jin Songyang, intending to subdue him. But Jin Songyang, already seething with fury, did not retreat. Instead he advanced straight into the crowd.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

In less than half a minute, every single officer lay groaning on the ground.

Li Feng watched Jin Songyang fight, a sharp glint passing through his eyes. This was the first time he had seen Jin Songyang in action. Even though his opponents were ordinary people, with Li Feng’s discerning eye he could still gauge Jin Songyang’s true strength.

Mid-fourth level of the acquired realm!

That level was currently lower than Ge Ying’s, let alone comparable to his own. Yet Ge Ying had only reached her strength after consuming the thousand-year ice dew. If Jin Songyang were given even a single drop of it, his power might surpass Ge Feng’s.

Moreover, most young men of his generation were only around the third level of the acquired realm. Fu Yanxiong, Ma Xiaoyong, and even the Ge siblings when he first met them in the Hundred Thousand Mountains had all been at the third level.

Yet Jin Songyang had reached the fourth level. He concealed it well, but he could not hide it from Li Feng’s eyes. Clearly, Jin Songyang possessed outstanding talent and was no ordinary person.

It seemed that among the younger generation of the eight great families, hidden dragons and crouching tigers truly existed.

Li Feng could not help thinking of Li Wu, Qin Feng, and the others.

They were his great enemies, though he had never seen them fight. Their skills were undoubtedly formidable, yet he could vaguely sense something of Qin Feng’s strength.

Li Wu was different. Li Feng could detect no aura from him at all. He knew this was either because of the cultivation method Li Wu practised or because he carried some treasure that masked his presence.

Just how strong was Li Wu? Was he at the third level like Fu Yanxiong? The fourth level like Jin Songyang? Or even higher?

Li Feng did not know, but he had always felt that Li Wu was no simple figure. For several years in the past two decades, Li Wu had vanished completely, and no one knew what had happened during that time.

Then there were Zhu Yuanyang and Ying Suyan. Though they were women, neither of them was simple either.

Especially after learning the origins of the eight great families, Li Feng no longer dared to underestimate any direct descendant. Unlike his former self, these people had been nurtured by their families from childhood. Back when he was in the Li family, he had been a nobody, completely ignored and never cultivated by the clan.

Moreover…

Li Feng glanced at Jin Songyang, a sharp light flashing through his eyes.

“Useless trash.” Jin Songyang looked at the fallen officers with disdain curling his lips. If this were not a hospital, he would have crippled them without hesitation. Even so, they would probably spend the next ten days or two weeks in bed.

“You dare raise your hands against us? You’re dead. Young Master Kong will never let you go.” Captain Su glared at Jin Songyang with fear and venom in his eyes. He had received special attention from Jin Songyang moments ago; several bones were broken, and waves of intense pain made cold sweat pour down his face.

Jin Songyang laughed coldly. He could let the others off, but Captain Su and Captain Dai were already dead men in his eyes. One had nearly caused Jin Xiaoya’s death, the other had pointed a gun at him. If he let them live, where would the face of the Jin family’s eldest young master be?

Tap-tap-tap…

The sound of rapid footsteps echoed. Moments later, a squad of fully armed paramilitary police appeared.

Seeing them, joy flared in the eyes of Captain Su and Captain Dai. They had no idea why these troops had arrived, but to them, they were saviours.

“Arrest those two at once! They’re lawless fiends who commit every evil under the sun!” Captain Dai shouted at the paramilitary police.

Yet the troops completely ignored him. They marched straight to Jin Songyang, saluted, and their captain said, “Young Master Jin, Jiang Dongyuan of the Tianhai City Paramilitary Detachment reporting for orders.”

At Jiang Dongyuan’s words, Captain Dai froze.

He had thought these troops were his salvation, but they were actually reinforcements for Li Feng and Jin Songyang.

How could this be? Weren’t Li Feng and Jin Songyang just ordinary people? How did they have the authority to mobilise paramilitary police?

Only then did Captain Dai remember that Jin Songyang had addressed Li Feng as Young Master Feng, and Li Feng had called Jin Songyang Young Master Jin. Could they be young masters from powerful families?

The thought sent an icy chill through his heart.

Against ordinary people, he had nothing to fear. But if these two were young masters from influential families, everything changed. He was merely a minor squad captain in the police station. Though people called him Captain Dai, he knew full well he could bully common citizens, but against family heirs he could die without even knowing how.

And the man before him was someone even paramilitary officers addressed as Young Master Jin. Could he possibly be ordinary?

Captain Dai suddenly turned to glare at Captain Su. If not for him, why would he have waded into this mess?

By now, Captain Su’s face had already turned ashen with terror.

“Take them all away.” Jin Songyang pointed at the officers on the ground and ordered Jiang Dongyuan.

“Yes, sir.” Jiang Dongyuan responded, then waved to his men. “Round them all up.”

“I want this entire matter investigated thoroughly,” Jin Songyang said gravely to Jiang Dongyuan as the officers were dragged away.

“Young Master Jin, rest assured. One day. In just one day, I will get to the bottom of everything.” Jiang Dongyuan promised quickly, then saluted and departed.

Watching Jiang Dongyuan’s retreating back, a sharp light flickered in Li Feng’s eyes. At this moment, he finally began to understand the true reach of a top-tier family. The Jin family’s base was in the northeast, yet a single phone call from Jin Songyang could mobilise Tianhai City’s paramilitary forces. The influence of these great families was truly terrifying.

With his own status as the Li family eldest young master, he should have enjoyed similar authority, yet now he could only rely on himself.

“Young Master Jin, it’s late. I should be going.” Li Feng said to Jin Songyang.

“Young Master Feng, thank you for today. You saved my sister’s life. If you ever need anything in the future, just say the word.” Jin Songyang replied sincerely.

“Haha, Young Master Jin, you’re too polite. It was merely a small effort.” Li Feng smiled, waved farewell to Jin Songyang, and walked out.

Watching Li Feng leave, something flickered in Jin Songyang’s gaze, though no one knew what he was thinking.

After leaving the hospital, Li Feng let out a long breath. Today’s events had been pure coincidence, but earning a favour from Jin Songyang was no small thing. After all, a debt owed by someone like him was valuable. Unlike the Li family, the Jin family had no unexpected complications; barring accidents, Jin Songyang would inherit leadership of the family. A favour from the future Jin family head might one day yield unimaginable returns.

Glancing at the sky, he saw it was already midnight. Li Feng decided to return to Tianya Pavilion immediately and rest. The Blood Shadow sent by Chen Junyi had arrived; he needed to be at peak condition to face the coming retaliation from the Hongmen.

What Li Feng did not know was that, the moment he left the First People’s Hospital, a pair of cold eyes watched him from a dark corner nearby.

“To think months of planning were ruined by this brat. Damn him.”
