Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 44

“Song Shao, we’ve brought him.”

The red-clad fighter, Tianlang, was brought into the private box by two of Song Zhiyuan’s bodyguards. Gravely injured by the blue-clad fighter and barely clinging to life, he was unceremoniously thrown to the floor by the bodyguards, who then stood by Song Zhiyuan’s side, staring coldly at Tianlang.

“Tianlang?” Song Zhiyuan sneered, approaching him. “Isn’t this the famous Tianlang? When you came to Tianhai City, didn’t you brag about how strong you were? How did you lose in just one round?”

“Song Shao,” Tianlang said, struggling to lift his head.

“You tell me, what use is a useless piece of trash like you?” Song Zhiyuan’s gaze was icy, his eyes flashing with murderous intent.

“Song Shao, please give me another chance,” Tianlang pleaded, his face pale as he looked at Song Zhiyuan. He knew how ruthless Song Shao could be, but he had no other choice.

“Another chance? You cost me billions. What, you going to pay me back?” Song Zhiyuan’s gaze was chilling, his heart filled with hatred. He believed his loss to Li Feng wasn’t due to his own misjudgment but because Tianlang was too useless.

“I…”

“Hmph, drag him out and deal with him the usual way,” Song Zhiyuan snorted, giving Tianlang no chance to explain.

The two bodyguards stepped forward, grabbed Tianlang’s arms, and dragged him toward the exit.

“Song Shao, what’s this about? You’re not taking out your loss on him, are you? Is your tolerance that small?” Li Feng spoke up.

“Shut up, Li Feng. How I handle my people is none of your business,” Song Zhiyuan glared at him, his eyes glinting with hostility.

“Isn’t this just you lashing out in shame?” Li Feng said, ignoring Song Zhiyuan’s threat. His eyes gleamed as he looked at Tianlang. Tianlang’s strength was the greatest he’d seen. If not for his recent breakthrough, he might not even surpass him. For Song Zhiyuan to discard such a capable subordinate, Li Feng couldn’t fathom what this spoiled young master was thinking.

But this was an opportunity for Li Feng. He needed someone like Tianlang, and now was a rare chance to recruit him.

“Song Shao, how about we make a deal?” Li Feng said.

“A deal? What kind of deal?” Song Zhiyuan looked at Li Feng warily. In his eyes, Li Feng was cunning, sly, and full of tricks, completely different from the impression he once had.

“It’s about Tianlang. He brought me good luck, so I want to ensure his safety,” Li Feng said, pointing at Tianlang, who was being dragged to the door.

“Him?” Song Zhiyuan was stunned, then laughed. “You want to protect him? On what grounds? He’s my man. I can kill him or beat him as I please.”

“Your man is still a person. Are you really that heartless? Besides, today’s loss wasn’t his fault. His opponent was just too strong,” Li Feng said.

“Hmph, trash is trash. Useless trash has no value. Li Feng, stop meddling,” Song Zhiyuan said coldly, feeling that Li Feng was deliberately mocking him.

Li Feng said seriously, “Song Shao, I’m not joking. I want him.”

“You want him? Hahaha, since when did Young Master Feng start liking men? After a year, I didn’t expect you to develop such tastes,” Song Zhiyuan laughed loudly, pointing at Li Feng. “If I’d known you had this preference, I would’ve brought a few pretty boys to serve you today.”

Li Feng’s face darkened. No one would be happy being accused of such a thing, especially since he was straight. Looking at the cackling Song Zhiyuan, he wanted to punch him.

“Didn’t expect you to have such tastes, Young Master Feng,” Zhang Yaokun laughed, as if venting his frustration.

“It’s not about that. He brought me wealth. If not for him, how would I have earned billions today? To me, he’s my lucky star. So, Song Shao, can you part with him?” Li Feng said coldly. These spoiled young masters had no idea of Tianlang’s value. Tianlang’s strength wasn’t weak, and with proper training, he could become a top-tier expert. Li Feng’s team needed someone like him.

Moreover, Song Zhiyuan was clearly abandoning him. With Song Zhiyuan’s personality, being discarded meant a grim fate, likely death. If Li Feng saved him, he’d earn Tianlang’s gratitude, possibly even his loyalty.

“Lucky star?” Song Zhiyuan’s face turned ashen. If Tianlang was Li Feng’s lucky star, didn’t that make him Song Zhiyuan’s curse?

“Song Shao, name your price,” Li Feng said.

“You really want him?” Song Zhiyuan looked at Li Feng in disbelief. He thought Li Feng was just trying to mess with him, not that he genuinely wanted Tianlang. He couldn’t understand why Li Feng believed Tianlang was his lucky star.

“Of course. Zhang Shao, Zong Shao, and Gu Shao can vouch for me,” Li Feng nodded. Only a fool wouldn’t want such a skilled fighter.

“Five hundred million,” Song Zhiyuan said, aiming high.

Five hundred million?!

Neither Zhang Yaokun, Zong Yanshan, nor Gu Shan expected Song Zhiyuan to ask for such an outrageous sum. Five hundred million for a person, and a “useless” one at that? Only an idiot would agree.

“Deal,” Li Feng nodded without hesitation.

“You actually agreed?” Song Zhiyuan stared at Li Feng in disbelief. He’d asked for five hundred million partly to mess with Li Feng and partly because he was sore about the five hundred million he’d lost. Even for him, it wasn’t a small amount.

He never imagined Li Feng would agree. In his eyes, a life like Tianlang’s was worth a few million at most. With five hundred million, he could recruit plenty of people. Yet Li Feng agreed.

Not just Song Zhiyuan, but Zhang Yaokun and the others were dumbfounded, looking at Li Feng as if he were an idiot. Who but a fool would spend five hundred million on Tianlang?

Tianlang, whose face had been ashen, suddenly looked up at Li Feng, his eyes blazing with intensity.

“Of course. Here’s the Citibank cheque. Tianlang is mine now,” Li Feng said, secretly hoping Song Zhiyuan wouldn’t back out. In his view, the higher the price, the better—it would show Tianlang how much he valued him. Besides, the billion he had wasn’t even his own money, so he didn’t care about spending it.

“Thanks. Didn’t expect trash to be worth so much. Don’t regret it later,” Song Zhiyuan said, surprised but not refusing. Getting back five hundred million was perfect, and he was worried Li Feng might back out. He had no idea Li Feng’s goal was Tianlang.

Li Feng walked over to Tianlang and said to Song Zhiyuan’s bodyguards, “Let him go.”

The bodyguards glanced at Song Zhiyuan, who nodded.

“You okay?” Li Feng helped Tianlang up, discreetly pressing a few key acupoints on his body to temporarily stabilise his injuries. But Tianlang’s wounds were severe; without prompt treatment, they could cause lasting damage.

“Song Shao, if there’s another chance to make money like this, don’t forget me. Tianlang’s injuries are serious, so I need to get him to a hospital. I’ll take my leave,” Li Feng said, ignoring Song Zhiyuan and motioning for Liu Shichao and Li Quan to leave the box.

Bang!

As soon as Li Feng and the others left, Song Zhiyuan slammed his palm on the coffee table in fury. “Damn you, Li Feng. Keep acting arrogant. One day, I’ll make you pay.”

Song Zhiyuan couldn’t help but be angry. Though he’d only lost fifty million and the “useless” Tianlang, he felt utterly humiliated, especially by Li Feng, whom he’d always looked down on.

“Song Shao’s right. This Li Feng is too arrogant. If we don’t teach him a lesson, he’ll think you’re afraid of him,” Zhang Yaokun said, still stinging from his two hundred million loss and eager to deal with Li Feng.

“Zhang Shao’s right. If we don’t put him in his place, who knows how far he’ll push it? I have a plan to help Song Shao deal with Li Feng,” Zong Yanshan said.

Song Zhiyuan’s eyes lit up. Zong Yanshan was known for his cunning. “What’s your brilliant plan, Zong Shao?” he asked eagerly.

Zong Yanshan gave a sinister smile. “We just need to do this…”
