“Park Song-jae, you are delusional. You are dreaming.” Before Hu Yuanyuan could speak, Xu Qing stepped forward, glaring coldly at him.
At this moment Xu Qing even wondered whether this Park Song-jae had something wrong with his brain. He actually thought he could make Hu Yuanyuan become his woman. The nerve of him, and he was supposed to be the general manager of Star Group’s China region.
So what if he was the China-region general manager of Star Group? Did that give him the right to be this arrogant and lawless?
“Shut your mouth. A little assistant like you has no right to speak here.” Park Song-jae glanced icily at Xu Qing. “Still, this little assistant is quite pretty. Zhang Shukai, after I get Hu Yuanyuan, you can have this assistant however you want.”
In Park Song-jae’s mind, Fengyuan Group was already his for the taking, Hu Yuanyuan was his for the taking, and a mere assistant like Xu Qing could never escape his grasp.
“Thank you, Young Master.” Zhang Shukai’s eyes lit up as he looked at Xu Qing. Although she was not on Hu Yuanyuan’s level, she was still top-tier beauty, far better than any of his current mistresses. It would not be bad to have her.
Moreover, this Xu Qing had given him nothing but attitude earlier. He had long wanted to teach her a lesson.
“You…” Xu Qing glared furiously at Park Song-jae. She had never imagined he could be this brazen. In his eyes she was nothing more than an object he could give away at will.
Park Song-jae sneered and ignored her, turning back to Hu Yuanyuan. “Hu Yuanyuan, have you thought it over? Do you take the bet or not?”
Hu Yuanyuan stared at him icily. “What makes you think you are qualified to bet with me?”
Bet? Did Park Song-jae take her for an idiot? The way he had structured it, he stood to lose nothing whether he won or lost. What a fine calculation he had made.
“Hu Yuanyuan, think carefully. If you reject my proposal, you will regret it later.” Park Song-jae said coldly.
“I, Hu Yuanyuan, have never regretted my decisions.” Hu Yuanyuan replied.
“Good. Very good.” Park Song-jae gave her a long look, then said to Zhang Shukai, “Let’s go.”
“Go?”
Hu Yuanyuan laughed coldly. “Park Song-jae, I think you should stay a while longer. Until this matter is settled today, neither of you is leaving.”
“What, you plan to keep us here against our will?” A cold glint flashed through Park Song-jae’s eyes.
“Against your will?” Hu Yuanyuan sneered. “The police will be here soon. It wouldn’t look good if you left now, would it? Let the police investigate who is right and who is wrong. And until you give us a satisfactory explanation for what happened today, nobody is going anywhere.”
“Hu Yuanyuan, do you realise what you are doing?” Zhang Shukai glared at her in fury. This was Fengyuan Group’s conference room; there were certainly surveillance cameras. If footage got out, the damage to them would be enormous.
If Star Group’s top management found out, they would be extremely displeased. Even as the Park family heir, Park Song-jae could not withstand that pressure. They had been so brazen earlier precisely because they were certain this acquisition would succeed.
Failure? They had never even considered it.
Only after arriving at Fengyuan Group did they discover how unyielding Hu Yuanyuan’s attitude was. Did she not understand that offending Star Group would leave Fengyuan Group no place to stand, even in China?
“I don’t need your reminder. I know exactly what I am doing.” Hu Yuanyuan laughed coldly and ordered the security guards beside her, “Watch them closely. If they try to leave, no need to hold back.”
“Yes, President Hu.”
The guards responded and fixed cold stares on Park Song-jae and Zhang Shukai.
“You…” Zhang Shukai’s face flushed crimson with rage. He felt he was suffering unprecedented humiliation.
Park Song-jae sat back down and gave Hu Yuanyuan a cold smile.
The police?
In his entire life, the thing Park Song-jae feared least was the police. Whether in Baekje or China, the police could do nothing to him. With Star Group’s influence, who would dare offend them, even in America?
Moreover, he simply did not believe Hu Yuanyuan would have the guts to take this all the way, especially after he had tried to molest her. Given how much Chinese women cared about face, would she really let this become public?
What Park Song-jae did not understand was Hu Yuanyuan’s character. Towards her own people she was completely open and honest, but towards anyone with malicious intent, especially someone who tried to take liberties with her, she had never shown mercy.
Besides, Xu Qing had already told her that Li Feng was on his way.
Knowing Li Feng’s temperament, she could guess what he would do. Far from wanting to stop him, she was looking forward to his arrival.
Fengyuan Group, main hall.
Li Feng parked his car and hurried inside.
The moment he received Xu Qing’s call, he had raced straight over, running countless red lights on the way.
Hu Yuanyuan was his woman. He would never allow anyone to harass her. What he had not expected was that someone would dare come to Fengyuan Group itself to molest its president. This was no different from breaking into another man’s home to harass his wife. It was the ultimate insult.
“I want to see just who from Star Group has the guts to do this.” The rage inside Li Feng had reached boiling point.
“Hello, President Li.”
“Hello, President Li.”
Employees greeted him all along the way, but Li Feng ignored them and headed straight for the conference room.
Soon he reached the door.
Bang!
He kicked it open and strode in, his face livid.
His gaze swept the room. He saw the furious expressions on Hu Yuanyuan and Xu Qing, then fixed on the two men sitting arrogantly in their chairs, one of them sporting five clear finger marks on his face.
Li Feng pointed at Park Song-jae and asked Hu Yuanyuan coldly, “Was it him who got fresh with you?”
Park Song-jae and Zhang Shukai paled. The moment Li Feng stormed in radiating fury, they had known this would not end well. Their fears were now confirmed.
Hu Yuanyuan nodded and shot Park Song-jae a venomous glare. “Yes, it was him.”
Feeling Li Feng’s anger, a warm current flowed through Hu Yuanyuan’s heart.
“Very good.” Li Feng gave a cold laugh and told the security guards, “All of you, out.”
“Yes, sir.” The guards responded instantly and filed out.
These security personnel were retired soldiers recruited by Li Feng’s own security company, some of them reserve members of the Black Hawk squad. They obeyed orders without question and, more importantly, knew exactly what should and should not be said.
The last guard to leave carefully closed the door behind him.
“Who are you?” Zhang Shukai frowned at Li Feng. The newcomer clearly meant trouble, and sending the guards out obviously signalled intent to use force. It made him uneasy.
“Who am I?” Li Feng laughed coldly. In a flash he was in front of Zhang Shukai and swung his palm.
Slap!
With a crisp sound, Zhang Shukai screamed. His face felt as though it had been struck by a heavy club. His head rang, the world spun, and he passed out.
“You…” Park Song-jae stared at Li Feng in disbelief. He had never imagined Li Feng would actually strike, and so ruthlessly, knocking Zhang Shukai unconscious with a single slap.
“Was it you who tried to get fresh with Hu Yuanyuan earlier?” Li Feng turned, fixing an icy stare on Park Song-jae.
Park Song-jae swallowed hard and asked gravely, “Who are you?”
“Li Feng.”
“Li Feng? You’re Li Feng?” Park Song-jae’s expression shifted. He had investigated Fengyuan Group and knew that after Smart No. 1 launched, many parties had tried to cause trouble to obtain it, but this Li Feng had fended them all off.
Yet after reading the intelligence reports, Park Song-jae had felt only disdain. He believed Li Feng had managed to protect Fengyuan Group only because he was the eldest young master of China’s top-tier Li family.
That might work against some domestic forces, but to him it was worthless. With his own status, he was hardly inferior to the Li family heir. If he wanted to deal with Li Feng, he had plenty of ways.
What he had not expected was that Li Feng would resort to violence the moment he arrived. Although he and Zhang Shukai worked out regularly at fitness clubs, their actual combat ability was weak. Seeing Li Feng knock Zhang Shukai out with one slap terrified him.
“That’s right. I am Li Feng.” Li Feng laughed coldly and raised his hand towards Park Song-jae.
“You… you… Li Feng, do you have any idea who I am? If you dare hit me, you’re finished…” Park Song-jae turned ashen and scrambled to flee.
Slap!
The palm struck Park Song-jae’s face and sent him flying.
Crash!
He smashed into a solid wooden chair, which instantly splintered. Legs broke off, fragments scattered across the floor.
Park Song-jae let out a pained howl and collapsed, feeling as though every bone in his body had shattered.
“You… you…” It took him a long while to regain his senses. He looked up at Li Feng in disbelief. He had never imagined Li Feng could be this vicious.
“Li Feng, you actually dared to hit me. Let me tell you, you’re dead. I will never let you get away with this. The Park family will never let you get away with this!” Park Song-jae roared at Li Feng in frenzied rage.
