Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 461

“Where did that sniper come from?”

Seeing Han Yuxia killed with a single shot, Blood Shadow’s face twisted with fury. Li Feng’s strength had already exceeded his expectations, but the sudden appearance of a sniper was something he could not accept.

If this were America, a sniper would be perfectly normal, but this was China, where the government exercised extremely strict control. Even for the Hongmen, obtaining a sniper rifle was no easy matter. In Blood Shadow’s view, Li Feng’s subordinates might possess handguns, but a sniper rifle was absolutely out of the question.

“Lord Blood Shadow, could it be one of Li Feng’s men?” the black-clothed man asked, his heart skipping a beat at Han Yuxia’s defeat. If it weren’t for his own crucial role within the Hongmen, he would have been the one commanding those black-clothed operatives today.

“If it isn’t Li Feng’s man, then who?” Blood Shadow snorted coldly.

“Lord Blood Shadow, what do we do now?” the man in black asked. With Han Yuxia dead, the black-clothed operatives were leaderless. Li Feng was already cutting his way towards them, and it probably wouldn’t be long before those men were either killed or scattered. Their entire plan was on the verge of collapse.

Blood Shadow’s expression darkened. He had clearly realised the same problem. Without Han Yuxia, no one was left to command those operatives. Even without Li Feng, given the counter-attack from Zhong Shuhui and the others, those black-clothed men probably wouldn’t hold out much longer.

“You take command of the black-clothed operatives,” Blood Shadow said in a low voice. Those men belonged to Han Yuxia and the man standing beside him; apart from the two of them, no one else could lead them effectively.

“Me?” The man’s face paled. Stepping forward to command would almost certainly expose him to the sniper’s crosshairs, and that would mean certain death.

“Yes, but you will direct them from the shadows,” Blood Shadow said gravely. The man’s identity could not yet be revealed, and with a sniper present, only covert command would be effective.

“Understood.” The man let out a quiet sigh of relief.

“Lord Blood Shadow, what about Li Feng…” The man glanced over and saw that Li Feng had nearly wiped out both squads. A chill ran down his spine.

“Don’t worry. That person has already arrived,” Blood Shadow said, a cold smirk flashing across his lips.

Binhe Road, crossroads.

“Die.”

With one slash, the last black-clothed operative fell. Li Feng raised his head towards the convenience store, cold light glinting in his eyes.

Li Feng had never imagined that so many people would be involved in today’s attack on Hu Yuanyuan and the others. Although these black-clothed operatives were not as strong as the Black Hawk squad, their numbers were overwhelming. Even for him, at the eighth level of Qi Refining, slaughtering them all would leave him utterly exhausted, let alone Zhong Shuhui and the rest.

Nevertheless, since they had dared to target Hu Yuanyuan today, he would not let a single one escape.

With that thought, Li Feng strode towards the convenience store entrance. With every step, the killing intent radiating from him grew heavier.

“Li Feng.”

At that moment, a figure appeared in front of him, staring at him with a cold smile.

“Who are you?” Li Feng’s pupils contracted, his expression turning grave. This person was clearly different from the previous black-clothed operatives; this was a true expert.

“You killed my fourth brother. Today, I’m taking your life. Remember, the one who kills you is Wei Kang,” Wei Kang said, his eyes narrowing, a chilling gleam flashing within them.

“Wei Kang?” Li Feng gave a cold laugh. “You think you’re qualified to kill me? Step aside, or next year’s anniversary of your death will be today.”

Li Feng was anxious. This Wei Kang was clearly powerful, and killing him quickly enough to rescue Hu Yuanyuan and the others would take time. If possible, he genuinely didn’t want to fight.

“Hah, if you want to kill me, let’s see if you’ve got what it takes.” Wei Kang snorted, his right hand suddenly gripping the handle of the broadsword on his back.

Swish!

The sword vanished into thin air, and a streak of blue blade energy, carrying boundless sharpness, screamed towards Li Feng.

Li Feng’s expression chilled. He clenched his left fist and punched out.

Boom!

The blue blade energy shattered. Li Feng stared coldly at Wei Kang. “Wei Kang, are you really in such a hurry to die?”

Wei Kang ran his fingers along the icy edge of his blade, his gaze turned frigid by the gleaming light.

“I told you, you killed my fourth brother. Today, you die, no exceptions,” Wei Kang said icily.

“Your fourth brother? Wei Kang, I don’t know any fourth brother of yours.” Li Feng’s brow arched as he spoke coldly. He had killed many people, but none with the surname Wei, as far as he could recall. Still, Wei Kang’s hostility and repeated accusations were clearly not baseless. A fierce battle was now unavoidable.

“Hmph. Even now, Li Feng, you still won’t admit it? Do you think denying it will make me spare you?” Wei Kang sneered.

Li Feng’s face remained expressionless. “Then let’s fight.”

A cold glint flashed in Wei Kang’s eyes. “I’ve heard you’re extraordinarily arrogant, Li Feng, and it seems the rumours are true. No wonder you killed my fourth brother. But anyone who kills my brother dies, even if you’re from the Li family.”

“Talkative. I hope your strength matches your mouth,” Li Feng said with a cold laugh, his gaze icy as he stared at Wei Kang.

At this moment, Wei Kang stood blocking his path. Whatever the reason, in Li Feng’s eyes, Wei Kang was clearly in league with the black-clothed operatives. Since he refused to move, the only option was to kill him.

“You…”

Wei Kang’s face turned livid. He had intended to humiliate Li Feng thoroughly before killing him, but Li Feng’s sheer arrogance left no room for it. His plan had failed.

“Li Feng, today you won’t escape even if you grow wings.”

Wei Kang’s voice was ice-cold, his aura gradually condensing.

Peak of the Ninth Level Postnatal.

Sensing the explosive aura from Wei Kang, Li Feng’s pupils shrank. He had known Wei Kang was strong, but he hadn’t expected peak Ninth Level Postnatal. Who exactly was this man?

At that moment, Li Feng sensed that Wei Kang’s background was no small matter, yet there was no time to dwell on it.

“Then let’s see if you have the strength,” Li Feng said with a cold laugh. Waves of aura erupted from his body, his clothes fluttering without wind. His presence was in no way inferior to Wei Kang’s.

“Hmph. You do have some skill, but today you will still die,” Wei Kang said. Feeling Li Feng’s aura, his expression shifted. He had never imagined that Li Feng could possess strength almost equal to his own. How was this possible? Even as the eldest young master of the Li family, meticulously cultivated, Li Feng should not have reached the Ninth Level Postnatal.

Today, he had come to avenge his fourth brother, originally believing killing Li Feng would be effortless. Only now did Wei Kang realise that taking Li Feng’s life would be far from easy.

At the same time, a murderous intent flashed through Wei Kang’s heart. For someone Li Feng’s age to already reach the Ninth Level Postnatal meant breaking through to the Xiantian realm was only a matter of time. Once that happened, killing Li Feng would become exceedingly difficult.

Therefore, no matter what, Li Feng had to die today. Otherwise, not only would he fail to avenge his brother, one day Li Feng might even kill him instead.

With that thought, Wei Kang’s broadsword trembled. Intense sharpness radiated outwards, and three blade energies shot forth in a triangular formation towards Li Feng.

Li Feng gave a cold laugh and struck out with his palm.

Boom!

Palm force crashed into the blade energies, producing a heaven-shaking explosion. The three blade energies shattered into fragments and vanished.

“Peak Ninth Level Postnatal, yet this still isn’t your full strength, is it?” Li Feng asked calmly after dispersing the blade energies with one palm. He knew that against an expert like Wei Kang, impatience would only lead to injury. No matter how worried he was about Hu Yuanyuan’s safety, he had to force himself to remain calm.

“You’ll find out very soon,” Wei Kang roared. Blue blade aura erupted from his sword, a terrifying presence soaring skyward as he slashed viciously at Li Feng.

Swish!

A two-metre-long blade energy burst forth like a meteor streaking across the night sky, carrying overwhelming might as it bore down on Li Feng.

“Is this the extent of your strength? Let me see how strong you really are.” Facing the oncoming blade energy, a trace of gravity flickered in Li Feng’s eyes. Among all the Ninth Level Postnatal ancient martial artists he had encountered, Wei Kang was the strongest by far. Just this single slash surpassed anything Zhao Xiu or Qu Senpu could manage.

Li Feng raised his own broadsword. His entire aura transformed, as if he had become a towering blade peak, sharpness radiating in all directions.

“Cut!”

His gaze turned icy as he unleashed a slash, executing the “Blade Severing Heaven and Earth” from the Universe Blade Technique.

Boom!

It was as though thunder had exploded in mid-air. A chilling blade energy howled forth with unstoppable momentum.

Boom!

The two blade energies collided violently. A ferocious shockwave rippled outwards, making the very air tremble.

Both blade energies vanished without trace, and the powerful residual force surged towards Wei Kang.

“Not good.”

Wei Kang’s expression changed. He felt a tremendous impact rushing towards him, making his scalp tingle. He hurriedly retreated several steps.

While Li Feng and Wei Kang were locked in combat, on a balcony where Zhu Yuanyang and Chang He stood, Zhu Yuanyang’s face was livid as she demanded, “Why is Wei Kang here? When did he arrive in Tianhai City?”

“One day ago,” Chang He replied.

“One day ago? Why wasn’t I informed?” Zhu Yuanyang’s gaze turned icy as she stared at Chang He. “Chang He, what else are you hiding from me? Did you bring Wei Kang here?”

“Eldest Miss, someone like Wei Kang is beyond my ability to summon,” Chang He said, shaking his head. “The person who called Wei Kang to Tianhai City was someone else.”

“Someone else?” Zhu Yuanyang said coldly. “Since when does the leader of Tianyan, under the Zhu family’s control, take orders from others?”

“Eldest Miss, Wei Kang is only here to avenge his fourth brother. I didn’t expect him to appear here either. I believe his timing is connected to Blood Shadow of the Hongmen,” Chang He hurriedly explained.

“Blood Shadow? Hmph.” Zhu Yuanyang snorted, a sharp glint flashing in her eyes. “So Blood Shadow even schemed to drag Tianyan’s people into this. Well, he won’t succeed. Let’s see if he ends up regretting it.”
