Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 463

As soon as Li Feng finished speaking, the true qi throughout his body surged madly. His aura climbed steadily higher, and a fierce wind whipped around him, forming a small tornado. At the same instant, he swung his broadsword with ferocious power, and a blinding blade gleam burst forth, thick with killing intent.

A four-metre-long blade energy streaked across the night sky like a meteor, carrying terrifying force as it slashed down towards Wei Kang.

Wei Kang’s expression changed dramatically. He had not expected that Li Feng’s earlier display was far from his full strength. Feeling the horrifying aura radiating from Li Feng, a chill gripped Wei Kang’s heart.

“You’re courting death!”

Blue light exploded from Wei Kang’s body. Furious rage fused with razor-sharp qi, creating a vacuum around him. Anger had completely stripped away his reason.

“Blue Mountain Slash!”

Wei Kang roared, pouring every ounce of true qi into his strike. His broadsword blazed with blue light. He slashed through the air, sending a blue blade energy hurtling towards Li Feng.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Enormous explosions thundered like rolling thunder. Shockwaves scraped a layer off the entire road surface. Wei Kang’s blade energy shattered instantly and vanished, while Li Feng’s, though somewhat dimmed, continued unabated and slashed viciously towards Wei Kang.

Wei Kang’s face paled. He stamped hard on the ground and shot backwards.

Thud, thud, thud…

Swish!

The blade energy flashed like lightning, carving a deep wound across Wei Kang’s chest, visible to the bone. Blood sprayed into the air.

“Damn it!”

Wei Kang’s face turned ashen. He stared at Li Feng in disbelief. He had never imagined he would be wounded by Li Feng’s blade. As a peak Ninth Level Postnatal ancient martial artist, Wei Kang had always believed himself the strongest beneath the Xiantian realm. Only now did he realise that belief had been nothing but self-deception.

He had accepted Blood Shadow’s invitation to kill Li Feng partly to avenge his sworn fourth brother, but mainly for the generous rewards promised. Yet at this moment, Wei Kang finally understood that, far from killing Li Feng, he might not even survive himself.

“Die!”

A cold voice rang out. Li Feng slashed again.

A colossal blade energy tore through the air, as though splitting space itself. It streaked across the sky like a meteor, accompanied by deafening sonic booms, and shot towards Wei Kang.

Wei Kang was just wondering whether to retreat when he felt an overwhelmingly sharp qi bearing down on him. His skin prickled painfully. His face contorted in horror. This slash was even more terrifying than the last.

With no time to think, Wei Kang gathered all his true qi and slashed desperately.

Boom!

The air flashed violently. The two blade energies collided with devastating force. Wei Kang’s shattered instantly, and Li Feng’s continued undiminished towards him.

Crack!

The blade energy thundered forward, fast as lightning, piercing the void. In an inconceivable instant, it reached Wei Kang.

Spurt!

A cloud of blood exploded in the air.

Wei Kang collapsed with a crash. His chest burst open, organs spilling out.

“You… you…” Wei Kang stared wide-eyed at Li Feng, disbelief filling his gaze as he felt his life force rapidly fading. He was dying.

The thought of death filled him with terror. He had never imagined he would die one day. He was at the peak of Ninth Level Postnatal and had already gathered vast resources to break through to the Xiantian realm. If he died now, everything would turn to nothing.

In this moment, Wei Kang was overwhelmed with regret. Why had he come to avenge his fourth brother? That man was only a sworn brother, not blood-related. What did his death have to do with him?

Even if he truly wanted revenge, he could have sent his subordinates. Why come himself? Why listen to Blood Shadow and travel to Tianhai City? The rewards were tempting, but one needed to be alive to enjoy them.

“I told you. Today you will certainly die,” Li Feng said coldly, then suddenly raised his broadsword. Wei Kang was a peak Ninth Level Postnatal expert. Li Feng would only feel safe once he was thoroughly dead.

“Li Feng, don’t you want to know who sent me?” Wei Kang blurted out.

“I don’t care.” Before the words fully left his mouth, Li Feng slashed down.

Spurt!

Wei Kang’s head flew into the air. His headless corpse crashed to the ground.

Li Feng did not spare it a glance. He shot towards Hu Yuanyuan and the others. Wei Kang’s mention of a bomb weighed heavily on his mind. These assassins had dared to attack Hu Yuanyuan in the city centre. There was nothing they wouldn’t do.

If a bomb truly existed, the danger was extreme. Even he would have no chance against one. He could only hope he still had time.

“Die, die, die…”

Li Feng was already close to the convenience store. Every black-clothed operative who blocked his path was cut down with a single slash.

“Li Feng!” Relief flooded Hu Yuanyuan when she saw him. As long as Li Feng was there, she believed any problem could be solved.

“Die!”

One slash. Two black-clothed men fell instantly. Li Feng appeared before the group and asked gravely, “Are you all alright?”

“Young Master.” Xu Jie’s face was filled with shock. Li Feng’s strength far exceeded anything she had imagined.

“Li Feng, Wang Jian and Cang Ying are both gravely injured,” Hu Yuanyuan said. In less than fifteen minutes of fighting, the Eagle Eye sharpshooters and Black Hawk squad had suffered devastating losses. Seven were already dead, and many more wounded.

Li Feng nodded. “Don’t worry. It will all be over soon.”

His voice was calm, but anyone who knew him understood that Li Feng was now seething with rage.

“Xu Jie, have you spotted any bomb?” Li Feng asked solemnly. Xu Jie had spent years in the military. She should be very familiar with explosives.

“A bomb?” Xu Jie’s expression changed. She shook her head. “Young Master, you’re saying they have a bomb? That’s impossible. We haven’t detected anything like that.”

“You haven’t found one?” Li Feng frowned. Could Wei Kang have lied to him?

He shook his head. That seemed unlikely. Wei Kang had no reason to lie. But if he wasn’t lying, where was the bomb?

Unable to work it out, Li Feng turned his cold gaze on the remaining black-clothed operatives. Killing intent flashed in his eyes.

“All of you can die now.” The words barely left his mouth before he charged forward like lightning.

At the exact moment Li Feng killed Wei Kang, inside the room where Blood Shadow watched, Blood Shadow stared in stunned disbelief as Li Feng cut Wei Kang down. Shock filled his eyes. “How is this possible? How can Li Feng be this strong? Even Wei Kang is dead.”

Wei Kang had been a peak Ninth Level Postnatal expert, only one step from the Xiantian realm. He could be considered the strongest beneath Xiantian. Even Blood Shadow would have found him troublesome to kill, yet Li Feng had dispatched him in such a short time. Did that mean Li Feng was stronger than Wei Kang?

Could Li Feng be a Xiantian realm expert?

Blood Shadow immediately shook his head. Impossible. Li Feng was only in his twenties. How could he be Xiantian? Had the Xiantian realm become worthless? Yet if Li Feng was not Xiantian, how had he killed Wei Kang so easily?

At this moment, Blood Shadow felt deep wariness towards Li Feng. He could no longer gauge Li Feng’s true strength. Previously, when Li Feng had shown Fifth Level Postnatal power, Blood Shadow had already been shocked. Now he displayed strength surpassing Wei Kang, and Blood Shadow’s heart filled with dread.

Originally, Blood Shadow had believed killing Li Feng in Tianhai City would be simple. His only concern had been the possible presence of Li family experts protecting him. Moreover, Chen Junyi wanted Li Feng to feel despair and fear by watching those close to him die first, so Blood Shadow had not struck immediately.

But now he realised he had been wrong. Even without any Li family protectors, Li Feng’s own strength made him a formidable opponent. Killing him would come at a heavy price.

“Lord Blood Shadow, what do we do now?” The man in black was trembling with fear after watching Li Feng kill Wei Kang. Wei Kang, the leader of Tianyan, a peak Ninth Level Postnatal expert. Ten of him would not be Wei Kang’s match, yet Li Feng had slain him effortlessly. The sight filled him with dread.

“It seems stopping Li Feng is impossible,” Blood Shadow said, cold light flashing in his eyes.

“Lord Blood Shadow, Hu Yuanyuan and the others have already broken out of the store. Li Feng is heading straight for them now. Our men won’t hold much longer,” the man in black said anxiously. He and Han Yuxia had spent over a decade secretly building their forces in Tianhai City. Today, for this plan, nearly all of them had been slaughtered by Li Feng’s group. His heart ached at the loss.

“Moreover, Lord Blood Shadow, although the bomb has arrived, it’s now impossible to wipe out Hu Yuanyuan’s entire group after they left the store, especially with Li Feng there,” the man continued, glancing at Blood Shadow. “Lord Blood Shadow, perhaps you should intercept Li Feng personally. There’s still a chance our plan can succeed. Besides, Li Feng’s strength is far beyond expectations. If we don’t kill him today, it will be much harder in the future. I suggest we kill Li Feng right now.”

Blood Shadow’s expression darkened. He knew the man spoke sense, but Chen Junyi’s orders were to kill those around Li Feng first and then Li Feng himself. Killing Li Feng now might displease Chen Junyi.

Moreover, nearly half an hour had passed since the attack on Hu Yuanyuan began. The Chinese authorities would react soon. If he fought Li Feng personally, the battle could drag on, and he had no wish to expose himself to China’s forces.

With these thoughts, Blood Shadow reluctantly abandoned the idea of acting personally. His gaze turned icy as he stared at the carnage outside the convenience store and said coldly, “Detonate the bomb immediately. Even if we can’t kill every last one of Hu Yuanyuan’s group, we’ll still blow them to pieces.”
