Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 464

“Wei Kang is dead?”

Seeing Wei Kang cut down by Li Feng, Zhu Yuanyang and Chang He were utterly dumbfounded. Moments ago they had been worrying that Wei Kang might kill Li Feng and the blame would fall on the Zhu family. None of them had expected that, in such a short time, Wei Kang would be the one slain.

“How is this possible? How can Li Feng be this strong?” Chang He stared in horror at the scene of Li Feng killing Wei Kang. A chill ran through his entire body.

“Terrifying.”

He remembered how he had once looked down on Li Feng, thinking Zhu Yuanyang’s attempt to get closer to him was foolish. Now he realised the fool had been himself. If he had not failed to warn Li Feng today, Zhu Yuanyang’s plan might have succeeded. Instead, Li Feng survived, and once he traced this back to them, it would spell disaster for the Zhu family.

“Eldest Miss, I…” Chang He looked at Zhu Yuanyang, his face full of shame.

“Li Feng is too strong.” Shock filled Zhu Yuanyang’s eyes, along with deep wariness. She had assumed that even if Li Feng could fight Wei Kang on equal terms, he could never defeat him. Wei Kang had been at the peak of Ninth Level Postnatal for years; neither experience nor technique could be matched by a young man like Li Feng.

Yet Li Feng had not merely defeated Wei Kang; he had killed him. Killing a peak Ninth Level Postnatal expert required either a Xiantian realm cultivator or an enormous price from another peak Ninth Level expert. But Li Feng had made it look effortless.

Could Li Feng already be in the Xiantian realm?

The thought made Zhu Yuanyang’s mind reel. She trained diligently herself and had no shortage of cultivation resources, yet she was only at the Third Level Postnatal. Li Feng was about her age. How could he be this powerful? Was it because of the Xiantian expert behind him?

In an instant she thought of the mysterious Xiantian protector at Li Feng’s back. That must be the reason for Li Feng’s terrifying strength.

“It seems that, when the chance arises, I too must take a Xiantian expert as my master,” Zhu Yuanyang thought silently.

“Eldest Miss, what do we do now?” Chang He asked.

“Abandon all of tonight’s plans,” Zhu Yuanyang replied calmly.

“Abandon them?” Chang He was stunned.

“Yes, abandon them completely.” Zhu Yuanyang nodded. Her earlier decision to watch and wait had been based on the hope that if Li Feng proved no match for Wei Kang, the Xiantian expert protecting him would appear. Blood Shadow would never ignore such a figure, and a major battle would ensue. Her goal would then be achieved.

She had never expected Li Feng to kill Wei Kang without any help. Even if Blood Shadow showed himself now, he would only be courting death. Her plan could no longer succeed, so there was no point continuing.

“But Eldest Miss, if we abandon the plan, what if Li Feng traces this back to us?” Chang He asked worriedly.

“Someone else will take the blame for us now. There is nothing to fear,” Zhu Yuanyang said with a cold laugh. She was thinking of the force currently attacking Tianya Pavilion. They were the perfect scapegoats. She only needed to cover her tracks cleanly.

The only slight complication was Wei Kang, but he belonged to Tianyan, which already had enmity with Li Feng. Even if Li Feng investigated, it would not affect her much.

Still, the night had not been fruitless. She had witnessed Blood Shadow’s cunning and, more importantly, Li Feng’s true strength.

Even if Li Feng was not yet Xiantian, he would reach that realm very soon.

Recognising this, she would have to alter all future plans. After tonight, Zhu Yuanyang had already made a certain resolution in her heart.

Chang He blinked, looking at her in confusion, but Zhu Yuanyang said no more. She turned and left the balcony.

Chang He followed, still puzzled.

Tianya Pavilion.

“Damn it!”

Wu De’s face was livid. His men had reached the second floor, but Mu Jiajia’s layered defensive strategy had inflicted massive casualties. Most of those losses were directly attributable to her.

Mu Jiajia was the infamous Dual-Gun Rakshasa of the underworld. Her mastery of firearms was extraordinary and had caused devastating losses among his subordinates.

“Young Master Wu, shall I find another way up?” the youth beside Wu De asked. He had witnessed Mu Jiajia’s skill with guns earlier. Even he would not dare face that barrage head-on.

“No need,” Wu De replied, his expression dark, yet he shook his head and rejected the suggestion.

“Young Master Wu, without another approach, wiping them out will be difficult,” the youth said, surprised.

“Now we surround them but do not attack,” Wu De said coldly.

“Why?” The youth was baffled. In his view, although Mu Jiajia’s gunfire was fierce, if he used a different route to reach the third or fourth floor and struck from behind, with his skill she would die for certain.

“Because I want to besiege the point to strike the reinforcements,” Wu De said, a shrewd glint in his eyes as he revealed his plan to the youth.

“So you had this prepared all along.” Shock flashed across the youth’s face. He had not expected Wu De to set up such an elaborate trap without his knowledge.

“If I didn’t have this in mind, why would I attack Tianya Pavilion at all?” Wu De gave a smug smile before adding, “I wonder if Hu Yuanyuan is dead yet. Such a beauty. It would be a pity for her to die like this.”

“Women are everywhere. Does Young Master Wu truly lack for women?” the youth scoffed lightly.

“You don’t understand. This Hu Yuanyuan is different. The moment I saw her, I wanted her. Unfortunately, tonight she will perish like fragrant jade,” Wu De said with a helpless shake of his head. Hu Yuanyuan was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Regrettably, faced with so many assassins tonight, her chances of survival were slim.

“Instead of worrying about Hu Yuanyuan, you should think about Li Feng. He should be appearing soon. I just wonder whether he will come here to Tianya Pavilion or head to the Binhe Road crossroads,” the youth said gravely.

“Li Feng?” Wu De gave a contemptuous snort. “From tonight onwards, Li Feng becomes history. If those people don’t kill him, he still won’t live through this night. I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

“Rest assured. Dealing with Li Feng is well within my abilities,” the youth said, a cold smile curling his lips.

Outside the convenience store.

The fighting had reached fever pitch. Li Feng charged into the crowd of black-clothed operatives like a tiger among sheep. His blade rose and fell, cutting down one assassin after another.

With Li Feng’s arrival, Zhong Shuhui and the others finally breathed a sigh of relief and withdrew to the side.

“Zhong Shuhui, take everyone and leave now,” Li Feng said. He still remembered the bomb. True or false, he intended to be cautious. A bomb was not the same as bullets.

“Understood.” Zhong Shuhui nodded. With Li Feng here, these black-clothed men no longer required her attention. Moreover, she was already exhausted, and the wounds she had sustained were worsening from prolonged combat. She urgently needed treatment.

Ring ring…

As Zhong Shuhui retreated, her phone rang. With no choice, she answered.

“What?” Hearing the voice on the other end, her expression changed drastically. She turned to Li Feng and said gravely, “Young Master, Tianya Pavilion is under attack. Mu Jiajia and the others can’t hold much longer.”

A cold light flashed in Li Feng’s eyes. He had never imagined that while these people were assaulting Hu Yuanyuan’s group, they still had forces to spare for an attack on Tianya Pavilion.

“Zhong Shuhui, call Tian Lang. Have them head to Tianya Pavilion,” Li Feng ordered in a low voice.

At this point he had no choice but to summon the Black Hawk squad. After killing Wei Kang and so many black-clothed operatives, his true qi was already seventy to eighty percent depleted. More than a dozen assassins still remained in front of him. Once he dealt with them, his reserves would be nearly exhausted. Even if he then rushed to Tianya Pavilion, he might not be able to withstand the attackers there.

With that, Li Feng charged back into the fray. The assault on Tianya Pavilion had fully ignited the fury in his heart. He needed an outlet, and these men were perfect for it.

“He’s a devil! Run!”

“I don’t want to die!”

“Help!”

These black-clothed operatives were human too. Though well-trained and fearless in normal circumstances, Li Feng had already slaughtered most of their comrades. Terror gripped them. Ignoring orders from above, they fled wildly in all directions.

“None of you escapes today.” Cold killing intent flashed in Li Feng’s eyes. His blade rose and fell, instantly cutting down two more.

“Run!”

The remaining operatives scattered in panic.

“Hah, you cannot escape.” Li Feng laughed coldly. He executed the Ninefold Phantom Steps. His figure flickered, and in an instant he appeared in front of one fleeing assassin.

“Don’t kill me!” the man begged in terror.

“Die.” Li Feng spat the single word and struck with his palm.

Bang!

The assassin grunted, flew backwards, crashed heavily to the ground, convulsed once, and died.

Li Feng repeated the process, using Ninefold Phantom Steps to hunt down and kill every last fleeing operative.

In moments, all ten-plus escapees lay dead. Li Feng sheathed his blade with a cold smile. He felt no guilt killing these people.

“Zhong Shuhui, we…” Li Feng turned, about to tell Zhong Shuhui and the others to leave, when he spotted a black-clothed figure furtively approaching them while carrying a case. Zhong Shuhui’s group had not noticed.

“A straggler?”

Li Feng sneered inwardly and prepared to charge over and cut him down, but something immediately felt wrong. All the other operatives had fled in terror. Why was this one bold enough to approach Zhong Shuhui’s group?

A horrifying thought struck him.

“Hu Yuanyuan! Zhong Shuhui! Run! There’s a bomb!” Li Feng shouted as he shot towards the assassin. The man was less than ten metres from Hu Yuanyuan’s group. If that case really contained a bomb, even starting to run now would be too late. He would never abandon them.

Hearing Li Feng’s shout, Hu Yuanyuan and the others froze.

A ruthless gleam flashed in the assassin’s eyes. He hurled the case straight towards Hu Yuanyuan and pressed the remote detonator in his hand.
