Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 510

“Young Master, it would be best if you went to see Xu Qing. These past two days, with both you and the young mistress absent from the company, she has been holding everything together alone.” Zhong Shuhui said gravely.

Zhong Shuhui knew that, given Li Feng’s status and strength, he would have no shortage of women around him. But she would not allow any with ulterior motives to stay by his side, as such women would be a disaster for him.

She had observed Xu Qing’s behaviour closely. At first, she had assumed Xu Qing was with Li Feng because of his status. But now it seemed Xu Qing was not with him for that reason, which reassured her considerably.

Li Feng nodded.

All along, though Xu Qing had become his woman, Li Feng had not shared most of his affairs with her, nor taught her cultivation. This did not mean he did not care about her. Rather, the time was not yet right.

Or rather, Li Feng wanted to test Xu Qing, to decide whether to let her embark on the path of cultivation in future. The road of cultivation could grant eternal youth, even immortality, but Li Feng understood it demanded years of hardship. For someone unsuited to it, forcing the path would likely yield no achievements.

More importantly, Li Feng currently had no cultivation method suitable for Xu Qing. Hu Yuanyuan’s Snow Jade Art was tailored only for her. Xu Qing attempting it would be completely ineffective.

But now, with so many issues arising at Fengyuan Group, and Xu Qing handling them tirelessly, Li Feng felt it was time to discuss certain matters with her.

“By the way, how have the Heavenly Eye members who came to Tianya Pavilion been these past two days?” Li Feng thought of those Heavenly Eye members.

“Someone has integrated them.” Zhong Shuhui replied.

“Integrated? Was it Zhu Yuanyang?” A sharp glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes. In his view, Zhu Yuanyang was more fearsome than Qin Feng or Li Wu. So when Zhong Shuhui mentioned someone had integrated Heavenly Eye’s forces in Tianhai City, his first thought was Zhu Yuanyang.

In Li Feng’s eyes, only Zhu Yuanyang would dare act against Heavenly Eye. Anyone else, even if capable, would have to consider the Zhu family’s reaction.

“No.” Zhong Shuhui shook her head.

“Not her? Heavenly Eye should count as a Zhu family force. Given Zhu Yuanyang’s personality, how could she not make a move? It does not fit her temperament.” Li Feng was stunned and asked, somewhat puzzled.

“Zhu Yuanyang did want to act, but someone beat her to it.” Zhong Shuhui replied.

“Beaten to it? By whom?” Li Feng asked.

“Unknown. Eagle Eye could not uncover it in this regard. Ever since Wei Kang’s death, a mysterious figure has appeared. It was he who integrated Heavenly Eye’s forces.” Zhong Shuhui said.

“Did I not instruct you last time to strike against Heavenly Eye’s people in Tianhai City? How did that go?” Li Feng asked.

“It was going well at first. But right after I took down two of their strongholds in Tianhai City, this mysterious person emerged. After appearing, he took control of Heavenly Eye and ordered their members to go into hiding.” Zhong Shuhui said.

“What do you think? Which side does this mysterious person belong to? Zhu Yuanyang, Li Wu, or Blood Shadow?” Li Feng asked gravely.

“All are possible, yet none are certain.” Zhong Shuhui said gravely.

“What do you mean? Do you think this mysterious person belongs to yet another force? Is Heavenly Eye not a Zhu family force?” Li Feng was stunned, somewhat failing to grasp Zhong Shuhui’s meaning.

“Over these two days, I investigated Heavenly Eye through other channels. I discovered that while their boss Wei Kang was from the Zhu family, the second and third masters are not. If Heavenly Eye was under Wei Kang’s control, it could be considered a Zhu family force. But if not under his control, Heavenly Eye cannot be counted as such at all. Young Master, this is the latest intelligence I have gathered on Heavenly Eye.” Zhong Shuhui took a document from her spatial bag and handed it to Li Feng.

Li Feng opened it and began reading. But less than a minute in, his expression shifted. By the time he finished, his face had changed multiple times.

“Zhong Shuhui, is this information reliable?” Li Feng asked gravely.

“Reliable. Most of it I purchased from Shadow Tower.” Zhong Shuhui replied.

“Shadow Tower?” Li Feng was stunned.

“Shadow Tower is the world’s largest intelligence organisation. They claim there is no information in this world they cannot uncover.” Zhong Shuhui explained.

“So arrogant.” Li Feng raised an eyebrow. No information they could not uncover? Did they think themselves omniscient?

“Young Master, arrogant though it sounds, it is fact.” Zhong Shuhui replied.

She then briefed Li Feng on some details about Shadow Tower.

A glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes. “It seems Shadow Tower is an organisation on the same level as the Ancient Warriors Association.”

“One could say that.” Zhong Shuhui nodded. Shadow Tower and the Ancient Warriors Association were of the same tier. The only difference was that Shadow Tower was far more secretive.

“It appears there are still many organisations in this world I know nothing about.” A sharp glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes. He had only begun to understand the Ancient Warriors Association, yet even that preliminary knowledge revealed its vastness. Now another entity, Shadow Tower, on the same level, had appeared. One could imagine what its existence implied.

But Shadow Tower had no relation to him, no conflict or enmity. Li Feng felt only a moment of shock before turning his attention back to Heavenly Eye.

“I never expected a mere underground force to be so complicated. It seems killing Wei Kang actually helped certain people.” A sharp glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes. This outcome was unexpected. Had he known, he would not have killed Wei Kang so readily.

“One could say that.” Zhong Shuhui nodded.

Li Feng pondered, then suddenly thought of something. He asked, “Zhong Shuhui, you said this mysterious person only had Heavenly Eye’s people in Tianhai City go into hiding. They did not leave the city.”

“Yes.” Zhong Shuhui nodded, then realised. “Young Master, you worry this mysterious person might act against us.”

“Not worry. It is highly likely.” A glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes as he said gravely, “If this mysterious person only wanted to control Heavenly Eye, after gaining control of these people, he should have left Tianhai City and returned to Su City. After all, Su City is Heavenly Eye’s main base. Only by controlling the forces there could he truly dominate Heavenly Eye. But he did not. That leaves only two possibilities. First, he wants to build his own force in Tianhai City. Second, he intends to target someone.”

Li Feng paused, looking at Zhong Shuhui. “And I believe the second possibility is very likely. His target could be us.”

“But Young Master, why would this mysterious person oppose us? We have not offended him.” Zhong Shuhui shook her head, clearly not fully agreeing with Li Feng.

“Who says we have not? What if we have?” Li Feng gave a bitter smile. “I have offended so many people in Tianhai City. Which one does not want to deal with me? Could this mysterious person be sent by one of them?”

Li Feng finally understood the trouble of having too many enemies. He wanted to know who was targeting him, but every one was a possibility.

“That is true. But who? Fu Yanxiong? Qin Feng? Li Wu?” Zhong Shuhui pondered with frustration, but could not determine whose likelihood was greatest. Li Feng had offended too many. Each was possible.

Investigating and eliminating them one by one would take time and capability she did not have. In the past, Zhong Shuhui might have grumbled inwardly about Li Feng offending so many people. But now she understood. Given his strength and personality, he would only offend more in future. All she could do was keep pace with him.

“No matter who it is, we must prepare early.” A glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes. “Moreover, I have a feeling this mysterious person will surface before long.”

“Mm.” Zhong Shuhui nodded.

“By the way, has there been any word from Situ Qiang these past two days?” Li Feng asked gravely.

“No.” Zhong Shuhui shook her head.

“None?” Li Feng was stunned.

“Yes.”

Zhong Shuhui nodded, then asked with some puzzlement, “Young Master, do you think Situ Qiang and the others have not sent word on purpose, or has Blood Shadow simply made no moves these past two days?”

“Both are possible.” Li Feng recalled his last meeting with Situ Qiang. That poorly concealed behaviour told him Situ Qiang, though young, was a deeply scheming individual. Li Feng would not trust such a person.

“You investigated Yuxing Lake that Situ Qiang mentioned last time. How did that go?” Li Feng asked.

“Yuxing Lake is a Hongmen stronghold, but we cannot yet confirm it as Blood Shadow’s hideout. After all, our information on Blood Shadow is limited.” Zhong Shuhui shook her head.

“Continue investigating.” Li Feng sighed. It was indeed difficult for Eagle Eye to probe these matters.

“Zhong Shuhui, you just said Shadow Tower is the world’s largest intelligence organisation. Do you think if we tasked them with this investigation, they could uncover it?” Li Feng asked.

“Young Master, commissioning Shadow Tower is far too expensive. The intelligence on Heavenly Eye alone cost me over ten million. Eagle Eye’s funds are limited now. Without sufficient money, we cannot hire them.” Zhong Shuhui shook her head.

“So costly?” Li Feng frowned.

“Yes. Those are Shadow Tower’s rules. Originally, I wanted to investigate Blood Shadow, but they quoted two hundred million for that intelligence. So I settled for the Heavenly Eye report. Even then, details on the forces behind Heavenly Eye remain vague.” Zhong Shuhui said.

“They are fleecing people.” Li Feng’s expression shifted. The Ancient Warriors Association was like this, and so was Shadow Tower. He finally understood why such organisations grew ever larger. Earning money this way, combined with long-term operations, it would be strange if they did not become behemoths.

“Thus, we must rely on ourselves.” Zhong Shuhui replied.

“But we have no time now.” A glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes. “Zhong Shuhui, tomorrow afternoon, take me to Shadow Tower.”
