Hidden Dragon Heir Chapter 74

“Sun Corporation?”

Inside the car, using his network tracking skills, Li Feng quickly discovered that the mysterious funds attacking the company came from Sun Corporation.

“Sun Xipeng, I didn’t expect it to be you.”

A cold, murderous glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes. He had suspected others like Li Quan, but Sun Xipeng seemed less likely. Now, it was clear he’d misjudged.

“Sun Xipeng, since you’re courting death, don’t blame me for being ruthless. Sun Corporation has no reason to exist anymore.” A chilling smirk curved Li Feng’s lips.

“But how does a small company like Sun Corporation have that much funding?”

Li Feng was puzzled. Sun Corporation mainly dealt in foreign trade, requiring substantial cash flow to sustain itself. How could it mobilise such funds to attack Xiangfeng Investment?

Digging further on his computer, he found that not long ago, an amount no less than three billion RMB had been deposited into Sun Corporation’s account, startling him. Where did Sun Xipeng get that kind of money?

The three billion wasn’t transferred via bank account but deposited directly through an anonymous Swiss bank cheque. Even with his advanced hacking skills, Li Feng couldn’t trace the source.

With those three billion, plus Sun Corporation’s assets, they were worth about five billion—a massive prize.

Starting the car, Li Feng drove to Citibank Tower.

Citibank in Tianhai City had over a century of history and its building was one of the city’s iconic landmarks.

Parking in the lot at Citibank’s entrance, Li Feng walked toward the building.

Since Sun Xipeng and his Sun Corporation were behind the attack, Li Feng wouldn’t let them off. This time, he aimed to swallow Sun Corporation and the three billion in mysterious funds whole.

Sun Corporation was a well-known enterprise in Tianhai City. Acquiring it and the three billion would propel Xiangfeng Investment into the city’s top 100 companies—a rare opportunity.

But to take down Sun Corporation and the three billion, the two billion-plus RMB in Hu Yuanyuan’s hands wasn’t enough. He needed more money, which was why he came to Citibank.

Originally, Li Feng considered borrowing from other Chinese banks, but after they all refused to finance Xiangfeng Investment during this attack, his impression of them soured, so he ruled them out.

There were two ways to secure a bank loan: credit loans and collateral loans.

Credit loans depended on personal or corporate credit. Someone like Microsoft’s Gates could secure massive loans with a single word, as banks would flock to him.

Collateral loans, however, were based on the value of the pledged asset. These loans were slower, as banks needed to appraise the collateral, a process that could take days or even months.

Li Feng’s purpose at Citibank was a collateral loan. He had something Citibank would want, and he was confident about this visit.

“Isn’t that Li Feng? Am I seeing things? You’re actually here?”

As Li Feng entered Citibank’s lobby, a surprised voice called out. Turning, he saw Song Zhiyuan staring at him in disbelief.

“If you, Song Zhiyuan, can be here, why can’t I?” Li Feng smiled. He hadn’t expected to run into Song Zhiyuan, but he wasn’t about to be polite.

Song Zhiyuan approached, sizing him up, “I’m just saying, Citibank lets anyone in these days.”

“Indeed, if someone like Young Master Song can get in, are Citibank’s security guards blind?” Li Feng shot back, unafraid of Song Zhiyuan, unlike his former self.

“Been a few days, and Peak Young Master’s tongue is sharper than ever,” Song Zhiyuan said.

“Learned it from you. Must be the company I keep,” Li Feng replied with a grin.

Song Zhiyuan’s face darkened. Once again, he experienced Li Feng’s sharp wit. Recalling how Li Feng used to cower before him, and now faced him with biting sarcasm, a fierce glint flashed in Song Zhiyuan’s eyes.

“What’s wrong, Young Master Song? Constipated? You look awful,” Li Feng asked, feigning shock.

A spark of anger flashed in Song Zhiyuan’s eyes, his fists clenching, veins bulging.

“What, Young Master Song’s upset?” Li Feng eyed him up and down.

Song Zhiyuan snorted, took a deep breath to suppress his anger, and gave Li Feng a cold look, “Li Feng, you’re getting bolder. Truly the Li family’s young master. No one beats you at sharp-tongued quips. But don’t get cocky. The road ahead is long. Watch your step.”

“Thanks for the concern, Young Master Song, but I’m always cautious. Others might fall, but I won’t. You, however, should be careful not to trip,” Li Feng said with a faint smile, his words loaded with meaning.

Song Zhiyuan scoffed dismissively. A bodyguard stepped forward, reminding him, “Young Master Song, it’s almost time.”

Snapping back, Song Zhiyuan smirked at Li Feng, “Peak Young Master, I won’t chat further. I have a meeting with Citibank’s business manager. Got any business here? Want me to introduce you?”

His tone dripped with smugness.

“No need,” Li Feng replied.

“No need to be shy, Peak Young Master. Citibank’s business manager isn’t someone just anyone can meet. It took me a long time to get this appointment,” Song Zhiyuan boasted.

“Just a business manager,” Li Feng scoffed with a smile.

“True, just a business manager. With your wealth, Peak Young Master, you wouldn’t care about Citibank’s manager,” Song Zhiyuan said smugly, sneering inwardly. As if a nobody like you could meet Citibank’s manager. Even as a Song family heir managing their southeastern province operations, securing this meeting was no easy feat. As for Li Feng, a so-called Li family young master, he wouldn’t even get a chance to approach, let alone meet, the manager.

The gap between them was obvious.

“Peak Young Master, enjoy queuing in the lobby. I’m off,” Song Zhiyuan laughed, his tone brimming with pride, as he headed to the VIP area with his bodyguard, where Citibank’s business manager awaited. He didn’t want to keep him waiting.

As for Li Feng, in his eyes, he was just another nobody queuing in the lobby.

Watching Song Zhiyuan’s back, a cold glint flashed in Li Feng’s eyes as he headed for the elevator.
