“This is impossible. How can this be?”
Sun Xipeng grabbed the document from the table and examined it. It was indeed a share certificate, clearly stating that Li Feng held forty percent of Sun Corporation’s shares.
How could this be possible?
Sun Xipeng stood there, stunned, his face full of disbelief. Sun Corporation was his life’s work, his everything.
But now, Li Feng held forty percent of the shares, while he only had thirty. Li Feng was the largest shareholder.
If Li Feng gained control of Sun Corporation, it would no longer be Sun Xipeng calling the shots. All his hard work over the past decade would have been for Li Feng’s benefit.
This was absolutely not what Sun Xipeng wanted to see.
“Young Master Sun, nothing is impossible in this world,” Li Feng said with a smile.
“Impossible. Li Feng, how could you have so many shares? This must be fake,” Sun Xipeng shook his head, refusing to believe it.
“Young Master Sun, you’re the founder of Sun Corporation. Surely you can read a simple share certificate?” Li Feng’s gaze settled on Sun Xipeng as he said calmly, “If you can’t, no worries. I brought Tianhai City’s top legal team today. They’ll verify the authenticity of this share certificate for you.”
“Lawyer Su, please check if this share certificate is genuine,” Li Feng said to a man behind him.
“Yes.” Lawyer Su stepped forward, carefully reviewed the document, and then said, “Mr. Li, Mr. Sun, this share certificate is authentic. Mr. Li currently holds forty percent of Sun Corporation’s shares, making him the largest shareholder.”
Sun Xipeng’s expression shifted. He knew Lawyer Su, a renowned lawyer in Tianhai City, not someone who could be coerced. Besides, he had seen the certificate himself; it was real. He just didn’t want to admit it.
“Li Feng, how did you get so many shares of Sun Corporation?” Sun Xipeng asked coldly.
“Young Master Sun, have you forgotten? Sun Corporation is a listed company, tradable on the Xiangjiang stock market,” Li Feng kindly reminded him.
“Hmph, the circulating shares on the Xiangjiang stock market only account for forty percent of Sun Corporation. You couldn’t have bought all of them. I would have noticed such a big move,” Sun Xipeng snorted.
“Young Master Sun is indeed sharp. I only acquired twenty percent on the Xiangjiang stock market. The other twenty percent came from Sun Corporation’s other shareholders.”
Li Feng looked at Sun Xipeng with some admiration. To avoid alerting him, Fu Jun and his operations team had been extremely cautious when acquiring Sun Corporation shares on the Xiangjiang market. Even so, after securing twenty percent, they didn’t dare buy more, fearing it would catch Sun Xipeng’s attention.
Fortunately, besides the forty percent on the Xiangjiang market and Sun Xipeng’s thirty percent, the remaining thirty percent was held by other shareholders. Li Feng’s additional twenty percent came from them.
“How is that possible? Why would they sell their shares?” Sun Xipeng shook his head. Sun Corporation had performed strongly in recent years, with substantial dividends. He didn’t believe those shareholders would sell.
“You forced them, didn’t you?” Sun Xipeng glared at Li Feng coldly. That was the only explanation. Li Feng’s martial prowess must have intimidated those shareholders into selling under the threat of death.
At that moment, Sun Xipeng was angrier than ever. He hated himself. Li Feng was known for being unscrupulous. Why hadn’t he anticipated a counterattack when targeting Xiangfeng Investment?
“Young Master Sun, what kind of person do you take me for? Am I that sort of man? Haven’t you heard of a premium acquisition? A hundred percent premium—I don’t think anyone in the world would refuse that,” Li Feng said with a faint smile.
“Li Feng, you’re ruthless,” Sun Xipeng said through gritted teeth. A hundred percent premium? Only Li Feng would pull that off.
“Tit for tat,” Li Feng replied with a grin.
Sun Xipeng glared at him coldly. “Li Feng, don’t get cocky. You only have forty percent. You can’t control Sun Corporation with that.”
“True, forty percent isn’t enough for absolute control. Thanks for the reminder, Young Master Sun,” Li Feng said, patting his forehead. He turned to the stunned Sun Corporation executives and continued, “The remaining ten percent of Sun Corporation’s shares are held by you executives, right? I’m interested in your shares. Anyone willing to sell?”
“Li Feng, you’re shameless!” Sun Xipeng was so furious he nearly spat blood, pointing at Li Feng, speechless.
Li Feng already held forty percent of Sun Corporation’s shares. If he acquired the executives’ ten percent and bought even a small amount more on the Xiangjiang market, Sun Xipeng would completely lose control of Sun Corporation, with no chance of turning things around.
Li Feng glanced at Sun Xipeng calmly, then addressed the executives. “You’re Sun Corporation’s top brass, contributing greatly to the company. I won’t let you lose out. For other shareholders, I offered a hundred percent premium, but for you, I’m offering a hundred twenty percent premium. Anyone willing to sell, come sign the share transfer agreement with me.”
Li Feng extended his hand.
Xu Qing handed him the prepared share transfer agreements. Li Feng placed them on the table, looking at the executives. “I brought Tianhai City’s best lawyers today. They can address any concerns you have.”
“Li Feng, don’t be delusional. You think your schemes will succeed? Impossible. Sun Corporation’s executives are loyal to Young Master Sun. They won’t betray him,” Shen Changyu jumped in, sneering at Li Feng.
“Shen Changyu, who gave you the right to speak?” Li Feng said coldly.
“Hmph, I’m also a shareholder of Sun Corporation. Of course I can speak,” Shen Changyu sneered.
“You, a shareholder? Sun Xipeng, you’re really slipping. A lackey like Shen Changyu qualifies to be a shareholder? No wonder Sun Corporation is being acquired by me today,” Li Feng said, genuinely surprised. He never imagined Sun Xipeng’s sidekick would hold shares.
“Hmph, Li Feng, don’t try to sow discord. I may only have one percent of Sun Corporation’s shares, but you won’t get a single one from me,” Shen Changyu said coldly.
“Heh, Shen Changyu, you’re full of yourself. Even if you offered your shares for a yuan, I wouldn’t want them,” Li Feng said, his gaze turning cold with a flash of menace.
“You…” Shen Changyu glared at Li Feng, seething with rage.
“Everyone, you have three minutes to decide. A hundred twenty percent premium—no one else will offer that. Sell your shares, and you’ll remain executives. Your positions won’t change,” Li Feng said, ignoring Shen Changyu and focusing on the other executives.
The Sun Corporation executives exchanged glances. They hadn’t expected things to escalate to a battle over the company’s shares. Shen Changyu had called them to meet someone, not for this.
Sun Xipeng had treated them well, offering good pay and company shares. Logically, anyone with a conscience wouldn’t betray him. But Li Feng’s offer was too good—a hundred twenty percent premium was astronomical.
A ten-million-yuan stake would fetch twenty-two million from Li Feng. Even ten years of dividends wouldn’t match that. The executives hesitated.
“Think carefully. This is your chance. Miss it, and it’s gone,” Li Feng said, glancing at the ashen-faced Sun Xipeng with a cold smile.
Sun Xipeng, the show’s just beginning.
