Li Feng slowly set down his wine glass, his gaze coldly fixed on Sun Xipeng.
“What, Young Master Feng, you won’t even give me this much face?” Sun Xipeng asked icily.
“It’s not that I don’t want to drink, it’s that I can’t.” Li Feng smiled at Sun Xipeng. “I don’t want to die.”
Sun Xipeng’s expression shifted slightly. “Li Feng, what do you mean? Are you suspecting I poisoned the wine? We each have a glass. If it was poisoned, do you think I’d still be standing here?”
Li Feng chuckled. “Young Master Sun, you’ve gone to great lengths. Are you trying to trade your life for mine? Or do you think you can take an antidote right after the poison takes effect?”
Li Feng toyed with his glass, casually saying, “Young Master Sun, if the wine’s fine, then the glass might be the issue, right? You’ve got some nerve. If you want to kill me, why choose here? Do you think you’d escape blame if something happened to me? Or do you believe you have a better way out? Haven’t you noticed you’ve made many mistakes?”
Sun Xipeng stared at Li Feng coldly.
“First, our relationship is like fire and water. I took your Sun Group. With your temper, why would you drink with someone like me? You had Shen Changyu bring the wine, probably planning this all along, right?”
“Second, you tried to call for backup to turn the tables, but for some reason, your help abandoned you. You’re in despair, yet your reaction now doesn’t match someone in that state. Shen Changyu’s just a small fry. What could he offer to give you hope? It’s very suspicious.”
“I, Li Feng, have always been cautious. I’m not gambling with my life. So, I’ve decided not to drink this wine.”
“I only suspected at first, but your reaction confirms my guess. If we test this wine, what do you think we’ll find?”
Sun Xipeng’s face slowly paled.
“Young Master Sun, I thought you were someone impressive. Now you seem pathetic. Lawyer Su, hold onto this wine carefully. Have it tested at the hospital later.”
Li Feng smiled faintly. He’d been wondering how to force Sun Xipeng’s hand, but Sun had given him a perfect opportunity.
“Understood, President Li.”
“Li Feng, I’ll kill you!” Sun Xipeng roared, lunging at Li Feng, aiming for the glass in his hand.
Li Feng sneered, kicking out. The blow landed squarely on Sun Xipeng’s abdomen, sending him flying back with a grunt.
Thud!
He crashed heavily to the ground.
“Taishun, get him!” Sun Xipeng scrambled up, ordering Taishun beside him while charging at Li Feng again.
“Dark Tiger.”
“Your opponent is me.” Dark Tiger blocked Taishun.
Li Feng sneered, grabbing Sun Xipeng’s wrist. “Sun Xipeng, with your skills, you think you can fight me? Go practice for another decade.”
“Li Feng, I’ll fight you to the death!” Sun Xipeng roared, his string of failures driving him past reason. All he wanted was to teach Li Feng a lesson.
“With you? Looks like you need a lesson.” Li Feng sneered, swinging his left hand.
Slap, slap, slap…
A series of slaps left Sun Xipeng’s face swollen like a pig’s head.
“Li Feng, you…” Sun Xipeng mumbled, “I won’t let you go.”
“Hmph, I’m not letting you go either.” Li Feng sneered, lifting Sun Xipeng and throwing him hard.
Thud!
Sun Xipeng smashed into a coffee table, shattering it. He rolled on the ground, spat blood, and lay still.
“Li Feng, you killed Young Master Sun?” Shen Changyu shrieked.
Li Feng scoffed. He’d been measured. In public, he wouldn’t kill, only cripple at most.
“Sun Xipeng, stop playing dead.” Li Feng walked over and kicked him hard.
“Li Feng, if you’ve got the guts, kill me.” Sun Xipeng struggled to lift his head, eyes blazing with hatred.
“Kill you? I wouldn’t dare. Killing’s illegal, and I, Li Feng, never break the law.” Li Feng kicked him again, smiling. “Besides, I was just defending myself. You tried to kill me. That’s attempted murder.”
“You…”
Li Feng sneered, turning to Shen Changyu. “Shen Changyu, the poisoning was your idea, right? How should I deal with you?”
“Young Master Feng, you’re joking. How could I poison you? It was all Sun Xipeng’s doing. Even with ten times the courage, I wouldn’t dare.” Shen Changyu stammered nervously. The wine was in Li Feng’s hand. Admitting to poisoning would mean prison, but he’d never confess.
“Dare or not, true or false, you can explain to the police.” Li Feng glanced at Dark Tiger, who had already subdued Taishun. “Dark Tiger, pull the surveillance from this floor now. Then hand Sun Xipeng and Shen Changyu over to the police.”
“Lawyer Su, you’ll testify for me today. Attempted murder should put Sun Xipeng and Shen Changyu away for a few years, right?” Li Feng said calmly.
“President Li is correct. Attempted murder carries at least ten years,” Lawyer Su replied.
“Young Master Feng, you can’t do this…” Shen Changyu’s face paled. Ten years in prison would ruin him. “Young Master Feng, I’ll sell you my shares!”
Li Feng’s lips curled coldly. “Idiot, I told you your shares are worthless.”
Shen Changyu’s face turned ashen. “Young Master Feng, you can’t do this…”
“Young Master Feng, I’ve got the surveillance,” Dark Tiger said, returning.
“Good. Now hand Sun Xipeng and Shen Changyu to the police. I trust they’ll give me justice,” Li Feng said.
“Li Feng, you’re ruthless.” Sun Xipeng’s face showed true despair.
Though the poison he’d used wasn’t lethal, just a hallucinogenic drug from the US that clouded the mind for a day, meant for Hu Yuanyuan to get her, Li Feng’s plan to control the Sun Group, coupled with Young Master Feng’s disappearance, pushed him to desperation. He’d hoped to trick Li Feng into drinking it, then get him to transfer his Sun Group shares while disoriented, turning the tables.
But Li Feng didn’t fall for it and pinned attempted murder on him. Whether the drug was poison didn’t matter now. Once in police custody, he’d be done.
Sun Xipeng knew he was finished. Even if the attempted murder charge didn’t stick, by the time he left the station, Li Feng would have everything arranged. The Sun Group would be worthless, and his thirty percent stake would be scrap paper.
Li Feng sneered. “Sun Xipeng, you won’t get out of the station. Letting you rot in jail for life is my greatest mercy. You brought this on yourself.”
Next, it’s Li Quan and the Black Stone Gang’s turn, Li Feng thought.
With help from Lu Ping and other Sun Group executives, Li Feng successfully took over the company. But the next day, he received shocking news.
