Leading the group of over forty was none other than Wang Zhan.
At this moment, they were heading toward a dense forest of stone pillars.
“Haha, those cowards went off to bully the two beautiful instructors.”
“By now, they’ve probably already got their tickets, right?”
“Hmph. I wouldn’t lower myself to join that lot. Bullying women, what kind of skill is that?”
“Yeah, yeah. Real men should take on real men.”
At these words, everyone’s gaze instantly turned to the crew-cut burly man, faces filled with horror. In a flash, they all stepped three metres away from him.
The crew-cut man’s smile froze. “I mean, do what real men should do.”
Only then did everyone breathe a sigh of relief.
Wang Zhan rolled his eyes. “All of you, stay alert. Didn’t God Nan just teach you a lesson?”
“Anyone who can keep up with God Nan without falling behind is going to be weak? Don’t trip over the same spot twice.”
The group looked at Wang Zhan’s grinning face.
“You haven’t been scared silly by God Nan, have you? How could they all be as monstrously strong as that devil?”
“Exactly. We’ve seen both their files. No particularly strong ranged skills.”
“With our twenty-odd elemental attackers, as long as we keep distance, we can bombard them to death.”
Wang Zhan covered his face, full of helplessness.
Yet at that moment, a crisp snap suddenly came from the undergrowth.
Wang Zhan’s expression tightened. “Careful! Something’s wrong!”
Everyone immediately went on guard.
They slowly approached, parted the grass, and all forty-odd people froze on the spot.
There, leaning against a tree, was a mountain of flesh, so fat it looked as though it had been fertilised with miracle grow. If it tucked in its arms and legs, it could cosplay a meatball tank.
(◦꒪ͦ=꒪ͦ◦)
Everyone shuddered violently.
“Bloody hell! Who’s this? Fat like this? There wasn’t anyone like him in our batch, was there?”
“Gotta be four hundred jin at least. If there’s an earthquake and he’s trapped under a building, he could survive a year without starving.”
“Wait! Blond hair? Turtleneck sweater? Blue diamond ear studs? This is Xiang Zu?”
In an instant, everyone’s minds buzzed. Where was that face that outshone top celebrities?
What on earth had he gone through to end up looking like a steamed bun?
The girls in the group instantly looked disgusted. They were no longer in love.
God Nan was still the handsome one, absolutely dashing.
Hearing someone call his name, Xiang Zu’s pupils suddenly focused. His limbs flailed wildly, and he frantically tried to back away.
(◦´༎ຶД༎ຶ◦)
“Don’t come near me! Don’t sting me!”
“Grandpas, grandmas! I was wrong. I’ll rebuild your hive. I swear I’ll never eat honey again!”
Wang Zhan panicked, grabbed Xiang Zu’s clothes, and slapped him twice. “Snap out of it, man. It’s us!”
Xiang Zu blinked, then suddenly hugged Wang Zhan and burst into tears. “Waaaah. Those bees were inhuman. They stung me until I swelled up like this.”
“Jiang Nan is a devil! He did it on purpose. Even if it costs me my life, I’ll make him pay!”
Everyone shivered. What kind of brutal mental torture had reduced the proud Xiang Zu to tears?
Wang Zhan’s eyes darted. “We’ll deal with God Nan eventually, but you alone won’t be enough.”
“Come with us. First we take down those two tanks, then we plan how to handle God Nan.”
Xiang Zu’s strength was considerable. Pulling him into the team meant Wang Zhan could copy his ability too.
Strong alliance. Tickets guaranteed.
Xiang Zu clenched his teeth and could only nod.
The group continued toward the stone forest. Along the way, wood-element users kept healing Xiang Zu.
But the effect was negligible. He still looked like a meatball tank.
Upon entering the stone forest, everyone felt an eerie silence. You could hear a pin drop.
Far off, they saw Wu Liang holding his Blood-Drinking Shield, standing beneath a stone pillar.
Everyone was stunned.
“He’s just waiting for us? This arrogant?”
“A mere gold-five tank without elemental support. Isn’t he just asking to be beaten?”
“What are we waiting for? Get him!”
Wang Zhan frowned. “Where’s that platinum-rank black bear? Why do I have a bad feeling?”
Xiang Zu sneered. “Let me get close. One Collapse will be enough.”
At that moment, Wu Liang cracked his neck and let out a mighty roar.
Rip! His clothes exploded.
His body suddenly transformed into a massive twenty-five-metre black bear.
Wang Zhan swallowed hard and quickly stepped forward to touch Xiang Zu, copying his ability.
Wu Liang roared again. “Bear King Shield!”
The massive Bear King Shield attached to the Blood-Drinking Shield, giving the entire thing the blood-drinking effect.
“Golden Bell Cover! Thornmail Armour!”
His bear fur gleamed golden all over.
Another mighty roar.
“Come at me if you dare!”
A red flash on his enormous bear body, and everyone who had just entered the stone forest saw red.
“Aaaargh! Kill him!”
“So arrogant! I’ve always hated the sight of you. Charge!”
They rushed madly toward Wu Liang, unleashing spirit techniques like crazy.
Instantly, the Bear King Shield rang like a bell, absorbing vibrations that flushed Wu Liang’s bear face red with rebound energy.
Yet as they fought, everyone was shocked.
What kind of terrifying defence was this? Hitting him felt like striking refined iron.
How could he tank this much?
This wasn’t a tank. This was a war fortress.
And that was only secondary. Thanks to Thornmail Armour, most attacks were reflected back.
One by one, they spat blood from the rebound, yet under the taunt of Come At Me If You Dare, they kept outputting desperately.
Harm the enemy a thousand, lose eight hundred yourself. Exactly that.
The trainees were blown away. So this was how a tank could be played?
So what if you knew the skills?
Bear King Shield, Golden Bell Cover, Thornmail Armour, Come At Me If You Dare. Wu Liang had built his own complete system.
Facts proved tanks weren’t just for mindless soaking.
If they really kept this up, it was unclear who would collapse first.
At that moment, Xiang Zu and Wang Zhan exchanged a glance and charged Wu Liang regardless of consequences.
“Break his Bear King Shield!”
Both pressed hands upward. “Collapse!”
Two waves of collapse force instantly shattered the Bear King Shield into specks of spirit light.
Though both spat blood from the rebound, Wu Liang was forced to stagger back, crashing into a stone pillar behind him.
“He’s shieldless! Chance! Hit him hard!”
Yet Wu Liang grinned. “Little bro! They’re in!”
Those words made everyone freeze. What do you mean, in?
At that instant, nearly two hundred four-armed mountain apes suddenly stood up atop the stone pillars.
Each one over twenty metres tall, solid gold rank.
Many had bruised faces and swollen noses.
On the central pillar, a platinum-rank four-armed mountain ape king bled heavily from its nose.
Big Bear sat cross-legged on its shoulder, grinning.
“Sorry, folks. You’re surrounded.”
Wang Zhan and the others went green in the face.
Over two hundred four-armed mountain apes? What the hell? Why were they listening to this bear?
They’d been hiding atop the pillars from the start, using Wu Liang to lure us in before closing the net?
Damn! Do you have to be this sneaky?
Are these really spirit beasts?
Big Bear patted the ape king’s shoulder. “Roar hey roar!”
(Little bros, watch and learn. Big bro’s teaching your tribe a game!)
Excitement mixed with fear in the ape king’s huge eyes.
“Roar roar?”
(What game?)
Big Bear grinned. “Smash death K he violent!”
He leaped from the shoulder.
Clothes exploding mid-air, his bear body grew to thirty metres.
Platinum-rank Big Bear was enormous.
The landing shook the entire stone forest.
Before anyone could react, Big Bear yanked out a stone pillar and gripped it in his paw.
“Big bro! Serve!”
Wu Liang laughed heartily, turning to pull out a pillar of his own.
“Come at me if you dare!”
Red flash again. This time not group taunt, but on a single beast-form tank.
The tank’s eyes reddened and leaped into the air, charging Wu Liang recklessly.
Wu Liang waited, eyes narrowed, swinging the forty-to-fifty-metre stone pillar with a deafening whoosh.
Boom!
The airborne beast-form tank stared wide-eyed as the massive pillar smashed into him.
Completely stunned, he spat blood and shot toward Big Bear like a cannonball.
Big Bear looked thrilled. “Big bro! Nice serve!”
He swung his own pillar, sending the tank flying back with another mighty hit.
At this moment, Wang Zhan, Xiang Zu, and the others were dumbfounded.
You don’t play like this!
Goddamn smash death K he violent!
You mean whack death K he violent, right?
But basketball means basketball, damn it!
Baseball is the one with bats!
Did you misunderstand something?
How did you even learn this? Fine, a spirit beast speaking human is one thing, but speaking mangled foreign words and getting them wrong?
Though you’re not human, you’re really cunning.
Spare a thought for the ball’s feelings.
Human baseball, really?
At this moment, the four-armed mountain ape king’s eyes lit up with pure excitement.
“Roar ha roar!”
(This is too much fun!)
Over two hundred mountain apes thumped their chests in excitement, beast roars echoing endlessly.
(Boss! We want to play smash death K he violent too!)
(I think I’ve already got it!)
(Big bro really knows a lot!)
In moments, over two hundred apes dropped to the ground, each pulling out two forty-to-fifty-metre stone pillars. Four arms, two pillars each.
Utterly thrilled, they surrounded Wang Zhan, Xiang Zu, and the others.
Facing the apes’ eager gazes.
Xiang Zu went pale, shivering hard.
This… we’re done for, aren’t we?
