“The Upper Realm of Reincarnation is truly not at peace these days.”
“I hope Master Tang Chen can return safely,” Chu Feng sighed.
“Brother Chu Feng, you can rest assured about that. With my master’s abilities, even those ancient creatures would struggle to pose a threat to him.”
“But for us, it’s different. So, Brother Chu Feng, if you have no other matters, you’d best stay within the Seven Suns Mountain Range for now.”
“In the entire Upper Realm of Reincarnation, aside from being by my master’s side, the Seven Suns Mountain Range is the safest place,” Yuan Shu said.
“Brother Yuan Shu, according to you, if those ancient creatures really come out in full force, it could lead to a catastrophe, and the beings of the Upper Realm of Reincarnation would suffer, wouldn’t they?” Chu Feng asked.
“It’s hard to say. If the ancient creatures come with hostile intent, some people will indeed suffer,” Yuan Shu replied.
“Then why not announce this to the world and let everyone come to the Seven Suns Mountain Range to take shelter?” Chu Feng asked.
“Such news might not be believed if spread. Even if some believed it, it would surely cause panic.”
“The Upper Realm of Reincarnation has so many people. No matter how large the Seven Suns Mountain Range is, it couldn’t possibly accommodate them all.”
“Besides, even my master isn’t certain about this matter. If word got out and the ancient creatures didn’t come out in full force, or if they did but caused no harm, wouldn’t I become the one spreading false rumours?”
“But, Brother Chu Feng, that’s not the most important thing.”
“The most important thing is that my master has forbidden me from spreading this news.”
“My master taught me one thing since I was young: unless I see it with my own eyes, I can act to help the weak and oppose the strong, but no matter how strong my cultivation, I must never take it upon myself to protect the world as my core belief.”
“In this life, fate is unpredictable. Whether someone lives or dies is their own destiny. You’re not a god, so what right do you have to change others’ fates?”
As Yuan Shu said this, his gaze towards Chu Feng became profound.
Hearing Yuan Shu’s words, Chu Feng found them quite reasonable.
Everyone has their own perspective.
Master Tang Chen has the ability to protect the Upper Realm of Reincarnation, but he has no responsibility to do so.
If he wants to protect it, he will; if not, he won’t. No one can say he’s right or wrong, at least not with the authority to judge him.
“Alright, enough of that. Brother Chu Feng, you seem to have known that Yin Zhuanghong from the Red Cloak Holy Sect for quite a while,” Yuan Shu suddenly said with a smile.
“Indeed, we’ve known each other for some time. By the way, Brother Yuan Shu, why did she want to see you?” Chu Feng asked.
Chu Feng was very curious about why Yin Zhuanghong was so eager to meet Yuan Shu.
“I don’t know,” Yuan Shu shook his head.
“Don’t know?” Chu Feng sensed something was off and quickly asked, “Didn’t she tell you why she wanted to see you?”
“She didn’t even meet me, so how could she tell me?” Yuan Shu said with a grin.
“Brother Yuan Shu, you mean even passing through that barrier gate doesn’t guarantee meeting you?” Chu Feng asked.
“The real test is character. Clearly, when judged by character, only you, Brother Chu Feng, passed. That’s why you’re here meeting me, aren’t you?” Yuan Shu said with a smile.
“Then where is Yin Zhuanghong?” Chu Feng asked.
“Brother Chu Feng, do you like that girl? Why so concerned?” Yuan Shu teased.
“It’s not about liking her, but we have some history. She’s a friend.”
“According to you, Brother Yuan Shu, I can ignore the safety of strangers, but I can’t just abandon a friend, can I? If I were that kind of person, I doubt I’d have passed your test,” Chu Feng said.
“Well, that’s true.”
“Rest assured, the barrier gate leads to a formation. That girl is trapped within it, but there’s absolutely no danger to her life. It’s just a lesson for her.”
“However, for your sake, Brother Chu Feng, I’ll let her out early,” Yuan Shu said, pulling out a compass.
He manipulated the compass in mid-air.
The compass was the formation’s core, and through it, Chu Feng could see Yin Zhuanghong’s situation.
She was trapped in a chaotic space, surrounded by the formation, unable to break free.
But, as Yuan Shu said, she was only trapped, not injured.
Suddenly, a beam of light descended from above, enveloping Yin Zhuanghong.
Then, she followed the light, shooting into the sky and leaving the chaotic space.
Chu Feng knew it was all Yuan Shu’s doing.
From the changes on the compass, Chu Feng guessed Yin Zhuanghong had likely left the formation and returned to the Seven Suns Mountain Range.
“Brother Chu Feng, I’ve sent her out of the formation. You can rest easy now, right?” Yuan Shu said, patting Chu Feng’s shoulder with a smile before sitting back down.
“Brother Yuan Shu, this girl was so eager to see you. She might have something important. Are you really not considering meeting her?” Chu Feng asked.
But Yuan Shu seemed not to hear him, instead picking up the wine cup on the table. “Brother Chu Feng, let’s drink.”
Seeing this, Chu Feng understood that Yuan Shu hadn’t missed his words—he simply didn’t want to meet Yin Zhuanghong.
So, Chu Feng said no more, raising his own cup. “Cheers.”
