“Young Master Chu Feng, only you can help me.”
Fu Mo Xin’er looked at Chu Feng with large, watery eyes, full of pitiful charm.
“Don’t worry, Miss Xin’er, I’ll do my best to cure you.”
“Take this antidote pill first.”
Chu Feng handed her a detox pill.
Though it couldn’t fully neutralize the poison, it could slow its spread.
Even if there was no easy solution, Chu Feng would try everything to save her.
“Young Master Chu Feng, it’s useless. Only you can help me.”
Fu Mo Xin’er lowered her head shyly.
Her action made Chu Feng think she feared death.
He was about to comfort her.
But before he could speak, she leapt into his arms.
“Miss Xin’er, what are you doing?”
Caught off guard, Chu Feng pushed her away and stepped back.
Looking at her again, he grew more confused.
Despite being poisoned, she showed no signs of it.
Instead, her face glowed, exuding an even stronger feminine allure.
Most puzzling was her strange behavior.
Could it be the poison?
Fu Mo Xin’er stared at him, stunned, then spoke.
“Young Master Chu Feng, don’t misunderstand, I’m not that kind of woman.”
“But this poison leaves me no choice.”
“The Western Region Ghost Hornet’s venom has two types.”
“A sting is fatal, incurable.”
“But a bite can be treated.”
“The treatment requires intimacy before the poison takes hold.”
“Otherwise, I’ll die.”
“With only us here, you’re my only hope.”
Fu Mo Xin’er explained.
“This…”
“Such a poison?”
Chu Feng was shocked.
He knew of such poisons, often man-made.
But a creature naturally carrying it? That was new.
“Young Master Chu Feng, will you let me die?”
“Or do you think I’m unworthy?”
Her wide eyes filled with disbelief.
She hadn’t expected such resistance.
“No, Miss Xin’er, you’re exceptional, how could you be unworthy?”
“But intimacy is for couples.”
Chu Feng said.
“Then I’ll marry you.”
Fu Mo Xin’er declared.
“But…”
Chu Feng hesitated, troubled.
“But what?”
She pressed.
“Miss Xin’er, forgive my bluntness. Though you’re beautiful as a fairy, I don’t have feelings for you, so I can’t do that.”
Chu Feng said.
“You…”
Her face flushed with anger.
As a woman pursued by countless outstanding men, whom she ignored, being rejected after offering herself wounded her pride.
But angry as she was, she had no choice.
It was a matter of life and death.
“Young Master Chu Feng, it’s life or death. Even if you don’t take responsibility, I won’t blame you.”
“I’ll keep it secret, and so can you.”
Fu Mo Xin’er said, blushing.
“Miss Xin’er, is there truly no other way?”
Chu Feng remained reluctant.
“Chu Feng, you…”
Despite her pleas, his refusal infuriated her.
But unable to sway him, she said, “There’s another way, but it’s too dangerous.”
“What way?”
Chu Feng asked eagerly.
“There are two methods. The first is what I mentioned.”
“The second is to go to the Western Region Ghost Hornet’s nest, find the venom’s source, and possibly create an antidote.”
“But it’s risky. If the hornets are absent, it’s fine. If they’re there, it’s a death trap.”
Fu Mo Xin’er said.
“We have to try. Miss Xin’er, do you know where the nest is?”
Chu Feng asked.
“This compass can lead us.”
Fu Mo Xin’er held up her compass.
Using it, they found the nest.
Luckily, the massive nest was empty of hornets.
Chu Feng located the venom and quickly crafted an antidote.
After Fu Mo Xin’er took it, her poison was swiftly neutralized.
They continued their journey.
Guided by the compass, they passed through the barrier, leaving the sealed domain.
Looking back, Chu Feng couldn’t see the barrier.
The surroundings had transformed entirely.
Even with his Heavenly Eyes, he couldn’t find it.
Had he not come from the sealed domain, he’d doubt its existence.
“Miss Xin’er, how do we return to the sealed domain?”
Chu Feng asked.
“There’s a way.”
Fu Mo Xin’er replied.
“Lead on, then.”
Chu Feng said.
But he noticed a change. Though Fu Mo Xin’er guided him, her previous warmth had turned cold.
She pointed directions silently, no longer speaking.
Before, she’d been lively.
The shift began after he cured her poison.
Chu Feng wasn’t foolish; he knew why.
“Miss Xin’er, I meant well. Don’t be upset.”
“Your poison’s gone, and you’re unharmed. Isn’t that good?”
Chu Feng said with a grin.
“You didn’t even want to take advantage. How can I not be upset?”
“Do you share my grandma’s taste, thinking I’m ugly?”
Fu Mo Xin’er exploded.
The once gentle woman now roared at him, her eyes fierce.
“Heavens, my sense of beauty is fine.”
“Miss Xin’er, you’re truly a fairy.”
Chu Feng said.
“Then why reject me?”
She demanded.
“It’s not rejection. I can’t explain it fully.”
“I can’t do that with someone I don’t love. It’s irresponsible. I’m not that kind of man.”
Chu Feng said.
“You… shut up! If I didn’t need you to save my brother, I’d slap you dead.”
“I’m furious.”
Fu Mo Xin’er’s face turned purple with rage.
Chu Feng saw she was genuinely angry.
But he wasn’t to blame. It was about honor.
What did he, a man, have to fear?
It was a chance to take advantage.
His refusal was truly for her sake.
“Sigh, Miss Xin’er, you’re young, you may not understand now.”
“But one day, you’ll see my good intentions.”
Chu Feng sighed helplessly.
“Pah, stop talking, shut up, or I’ll kill you now.”
Her roar echoed like thunder, audible for millions of meters.
“I’m wrong, I’ll shut up.”
Chu Feng quickly silenced himself, not daring to provoke her further.
She might actually attack.
But he felt wronged. He’d done nothing wrong, had he?
