“Miss Yu, Miss Yu.”
Chu Feng stepped forward, trying to help Yu Ting recover.
However, with his mental power unusable, he couldn’t set up formations or diagnose her condition.
He could only place a healing pill in her mouth.
Fortunately, even to the naked eye, Yu Ting’s injuries didn’t seem severe.
Observing the surroundings, Chu Feng found no one else present, nor any signs of formations or traps. He was unsure why Yu Ting had suddenly fainted.
But he noticed the walls of the thatched cottage were covered in inscriptions.
These weren’t ordinary writings but special charms and patterns.
Seeing them, Chu Feng’s face lit up with excitement, and he hurried forward to study them closely.
The charms and patterns were complex, and the more he looked, the more his mind grew chaotic and unsettled.
Yet, he believed if Zhuge Yuankong had left any clues, they would be hidden within these inscribed texts.
Steeling his mind and calming his emotions, Chu Feng began to read and observe carefully, determined to find some hint.
So engrossed was he that he didn’t notice Yu Ting had awakened.
Rubbing her head, Yu Ting surveyed her surroundings.
When she saw Chu Feng standing before the wall, panic flashed across her face, as if she wanted to warn him.
But she quickly closed her mouth.
Then, astonishment appeared in her eyes.
“He can actually endure it?” she murmured.
Soon, admiration followed.
“I found it!” Chu Feng shouted, elated.
Seeing his excitement, Yu Ting stood up and asked, “Found something?”
“Miss Yu Ting, you’re awake?” Chu Feng only then noticed her.
“What did you find?” she asked.
“These charm patterns contain the secrets to breaking a formation. Senior Zhuge did leave a treasure, and it might hold the way to enter Wolong Martial Sect. There are many ways to access it. Before his death, Senior Zhuge set up multiple teleportation gates, each leading to his treasure. And there’s one here. Follow me,” Chu Feng said, leading Yu Ting toward the back of the mountain.
They soon reached a stone.
It looked ordinary, but Chu Feng pointed at it, saying, “According to the clues, the treasure’s entrance is hidden within this stone. But since I can’t use my Spiritist powers right now, I’ll need your help, Miss Yu Ting.”
“No problem, leave it to me,” Yu Ting replied, beginning to set up a formation to unlock it.
Under her formation’s influence, the stone began to change.
“That’s it, don’t rush. It’ll take some time. Senior Zhuge was remarkable; his treasure entrance is well-hidden and requires patient decoding to reveal,” Chu Feng advised.
“Then we’ll wait,” Yu Ting said, her formation complete. Now, they only needed to wait for the entrance to appear, without her needing to maintain it.
“By the way, Miss Yu Ting, why did you suddenly faint?” Chu Feng asked curiously.
In his view, her collapse wasn’t due to an attack.
The room held no traps or formations beyond the inscribed wall, so he was puzzled.
She seemed largely unaffected, with the fainting causing no real harm.
He genuinely wanted to know what happened.
“Chu Feng, I’m sorry,” Yu Ting said suddenly.
“Sorry? Why are you apologizing?” Chu Feng asked, confused.
“When I first met you, I was disappointed. I couldn’t understand why Ziling would risk so much for someone like you. She always praised you, saying your talent might be the greatest in the world. I had high hopes, thinking you could save her. But when I saw you, I was let down. Your strength was far weaker than I expected. I thought Ziling was deceived or charmed by you, as your talent pales compared to those in Wolong Martial Sect. But just now, I realized I was wrong,” Yu Ting said.
“Just now?” Chu Feng was even more puzzled.
“You asked why I fainted. It was because I looked at the same wall you did. I noticed the texts, charms, and patterns and thought they might hold Senior Zhuge’s secrets, so I tried to decipher them. But those texts don’t test cultivation or Spiritist skills. They test resolve and perseverance. My resolve and perseverance were lacking. Just reading them gave me a splitting headache, unbearable. I felt like I was going mad, so I screamed and tried to turn away from the wall. But it was too late; my mind was nearly collapsing, and I fainted after turning,” Yu Ting explained.
“I see,” Chu Feng said, finally understanding.
“That wall is incredibly difficult to decipher. Yet you fully unraveled its secrets. Your resolve and perseverance are extraordinary. In Wolong Martial Sect, we had perseverance tests. My results weren’t top-tier, but they were decent. Yet, even Ziling, the best in those tests, can’t compare to you. You’re truly remarkable. I now understand why your relative didn’t help you,” Yu Ting said.
Hearing this, Chu Feng smiled.
“Trials foster growth, and danger breeds strength. My father’s lack of protection might seem neglectful, but it’s truly for my benefit,” he said.
“Yes, an elder in Wolong Martial Sect said something similar. I thought it was a lie to console those without resources. I believed only more resources and help could lead to rapid growth, that letting someone fend for themselves was deceit. But seeing you, I realize that elder was right. Your path is the hardest and most dangerous,” Yu Ting said.
“Indeed. If my father helped me, I’d have far greater achievements now. But I might never reach the martial world’s peak. So, I’m grateful to him for giving me freedom to soar,” Chu Feng said, smiling.
“So that relative is your father,” Yu Ting said, noting his open-mindedness.
Despite no trace of resentment, he took pride in his father.
Though she said nothing, her view of Chu Feng shifted.
After all, how many could accept such hands-off parenting?
