“Senior, what exactly happened?”
On the way, Chu Feng couldn’t hold back his question.
“Chu Feng, Shaoyu is in trouble. Only you can help him,” Gusu said.
“I’ll keep it brief. He’s challenging an object that tests talent. Only those with great talent can face it. He’s already begun, but things aren’t looking good. He needs someone to share the danger. Your talent is strong, and you can help him.”
Gusu didn’t hide anything, explaining the situation as they hurried to the box’s entrance.
But when they arrived, Xianhai Xin’er, who had been guarding the spot, was gone, leaving only Xianhai Shaoyu’s life talisman behind.
“Oh no,” Gusu’s face paled upon seeing the talisman.
She had gone to find Chu Feng as a precaution, but now the talisman showed changes. Xianhai Shaoyu’s life was already in danger.
The worst she feared had happened.
As for Xianhai Xin’er, she must have noticed Shaoyu’s peril and entered to help him bear the power.
“Senior, is this the entrance?” Chu Feng asked, looking at the boundary gate.
“Yes, that’s the gate,” Gusu confirmed.
“Alright.”
With that, Chu Feng moved toward the gate.
“Chu Feng, wait,” Gusu called out suddenly.
“Anything else, Senior?” Chu Feng asked.
Gusu hesitated briefly but soon made up her mind.
“Chu Feng, I must be honest with you. The power inside is terrifying. I don’t know its exact strength or nature, only that it’s extremely dangerous. You might enter and share the power with Shaoyu, both coming out safely. But it’s also possible you won’t withstand it and could die inside.”
Gusu told him the truth about the risks.
“Don’t worry, Senior. I’ll bring Brother Shaoyu back safely,” Chu Feng said with a faint smile.
With those words, he turned and stepped into the boundary gate.
Seeing Chu Feng enter despite knowing the danger, Gusu suddenly understood why Xianhai Shaoyu trusted him so much and was willing to take risks for him.
…
Passing through the boundary gate, Chu Feng found himself in a vast starry sky.
This wasn’t a world but a true cosmic expanse, where every star he saw was a world.
It was beautiful, especially for a martial cultivator. The boundless, mysterious starry sky made one feel small while igniting a yearning for power.
But Chu Feng had no time to admire the view.
Above him, a terrifying force loomed like endless dark clouds, covering the entire sky.
Within it raged violent thunder, fierce hurricanes, and blazing flames—three terrifying forces, each like a horde of millions of ferocious beasts, roaring and swirling above.
Just entering this place, Chu Feng felt immense pressure bearing down from above.
Though the force loomed overhead, it spun like a vortex.
Chu Feng sensed that the pressure he felt now was only the weakest part. The deeper one went, the more terrifying it became.
He couldn’t see Fumo Shaoyu but spotted Fumo Xin’er struggling toward the vortex’s depths.
She was still on the outermost edge, where the power had begun to descend, attacking her.
Ferocious hurricanes fell from the void, hammering her like beasts.
Fumo Xin’er swayed, barely able to stand, and at one point was forced to the ground by the pressure. Yet she stood again, pressing forward with difficulty.
Her body was already covered in wounds.
And this was only the vortex’s periphery, with just one of the three forces—hurricanes—attacking, and only a small fraction of its power at that.
She hadn’t even touched the truly terrifying forces deeper within.
Fumo Xin’er was far from the core, clearly struggling to endure.
“Young Master?”
Chu Feng immediately moved toward her.
But as he approached, his expression shifted.
He could hear Fumo Xin’er’s words.
Though she was there to save Fumo Shaoyu, she kept calling him “Young Master.”
This made Chu Feng realize their relationship wasn’t as simple as he’d thought.
Even their supposed grandmother seemed more complex than he’d believed.
They were hiding secrets he didn’t know.
“Young Master, Young Master! If you can’t hold on, leave this place!” Fumo Xin’er shouted, unaware of Chu Feng’s presence.
She was trying to reach Xianhai Shaoyu, but her power was suppressed here. Despite her desperate cries, her voice was weak.
She realized that in this place, where only talent mattered, her cultivation was useless.
