Martial Champion Chapter 4441

“It seems gaining the recognition of this weapon is far from easy.”

Chu Feng gazed at the Ancient Hero Sword in his hand and could not help but sigh.

Along the way, he had first made numerous correct choices, then endured torment and passed through many trials before he could finally enter the grand hall.

Although the Ancient Hero Sword had fallen directly into his hand the moment he entered the hall, its power still refused to obey him.

This made Chu Feng understand that to obtain the strength of this treasure, he would have to undergo further tests.

What troubled him most was that he had no idea what those tests might be.

He gripped the sword tightly and did his utmost to communicate with it, yet there was no response at all.

It was just like the Divine Deer within his body and the secret technique bestowed upon him by the Blood-Devouring Demon Exalted.

Both possessed tremendous power and resided within him, but neither would serve him.

No matter how strong they were, as long as he could not use them, they were useless to him.

Buzz…

Suddenly, the entire hall trembled. The previously sealed hall doors swung open.

However, beyond the doors awaited not freedom, but a massive boundary gate.

It was the very path Chu Feng had taken to arrive here.

He stored the Ancient Hero Sword away and stepped through the boundary gate.

Buzz…

Yet when Chu Feng emerged from the gate, he did not leave the Ancient Weapon Tomb directly.

Instead, he found himself back inside that lake.

The only difference was that re-entering this blue lake no longer required the previous trials and obstacles.

Like a flood dragon, Chu Feng shot straight upward.

Water splashed everywhere as he burst out of the lake.

Once airborne, he could not resist glancing toward the other two lakes.

“Having trouble?”

When his gaze fell upon the red lake, however, his brows furrowed slightly.

Standing outside, he could see everything within the lake.

Flames roared inside, and the disciple of Granny Wish God was trapped within.

From the outside, the lake appeared small, and the disciple’s figure looked minuscule, far smaller than an ant. An ordinary person’s eyesight would never have spotted her amidst the blazing flames.

Yet at that moment, the disciple’s body was bound by chains formed from refined fire.

With a single glance, Chu Feng could tell she was ensnared by an extremely powerful boundary formation.

Her condition was dire. If things continued, she would most likely perish inside.

“What, you still want to save her?”

“She just tried to kill you, you know.”

Suddenly, a figure appeared behind Chu Feng. It was the strange woman tasked with guarding this weapon tomb.

“Senior, she did help me earlier. I owe her a debt of gratitude.”

Chu Feng replied.

“The formation inside far exceeds your abilities.”

“If you try to rescue her, you may end up trapped yourself.”

“Do you truly intend to play the good Samaritan?”

“Repaying kindness is admirable, but disregarding your own life for it would be foolish.”

The strange woman said.

“Thank you for the warning, Senior, but this junior knows his limits.”

With those words, Chu Feng leapt into the red lake.

The strange woman watched the surface. She noticed that Chu Feng had taken out the Celestial Master’s Whisk.

By channelling the whisk’s power, his strength surged, and he began breaking the formation that imprisoned Granny Wish God’s disciple.

“This brat actually possesses such a treasure?”

Seeing the Celestial Master’s Whisk in Chu Feng’s hand, a change flickered in the woman’s eyes.

“The power of that treasure is beyond his control. Whether it will prove a blessing or a curse for him remains to be seen.”

Having said this, she turned and vanished.

As for Chu Feng, using the Celestial Master’s Whisk as his foundation and the formation as a conduit to unleash its power, he once again deployed formation strength that surpassed his own level.

Even so, rescuing Granny Wish God’s disciple placed an enormous burden on him.

Whoosh…

Waves surged. Two figures shot out from the lake: Chu Feng and the disciple.

Both were utterly drained. The disciple was covered in burns from the flames; her body even gave off the smell of scorched flesh.

Though Chu Feng bore no obvious external wounds, his weakened state revealed how heavily using the whisk had taxed him.

“Why? Trying to play the hypocrite again after obtaining the Hero Sword?”

The disciple glared at Chu Feng, the very person who had just saved her. There was no gratitude in her eyes, only fury.

“Senior, you need not thank me for surviving today.”

“Thank the whisk instead. Had it not willingly released its power, this junior would have been helpless.”

Chu Feng gave the Celestial Master’s Whisk a little wave.

“Pah! Stop pretending. Why should I thank you?”

“You think you’re worthy?”

The disciple spat curses at him.

Yet Chu Feng showed no anger. He merely smiled faintly, put the whisk away, and leapt into the white lake.

That lake was the exit from the Ancient Weapon Tomb.

“Damned brat.”

“I didn’t need your help. I could have escaped on my own.”

The disciple fumed.

Buzz…

At that moment, a radiance bloomed above the lakes.

Within the light, a figure appeared. It was Chu Feng.

He hovered in the air, gazing down at the red lake with slightly furrowed brows and evident concern.

“What, you still want to save her?”

“She just tried to kill you, you know.”

Suddenly, the strange woman appeared again.

The exact conversation Chu Feng had just had with her replayed before their eyes.

Once the scene finished, the light contracted, shrinking into a floating stone.

The strange woman held that stone in her hand.

“Senior, what is the meaning of this?”

The disciple asked.

“It is what truly happened moments ago.”

The woman replied.

“Senior, why show me this?”

“Are you saying I wrongly accused that Chu Feng?”

The disciple asked.

“He has already obtained the Ancient Hero Sword.”

“Whether you wronged him or not is for you to decide.”

The woman said.

“…”

Upon hearing this, the disciple fell silent.

“Oh, right. That Chu Feng broke the final formation for you.”

“You are now qualified to return and challenge the weapons again.”

The strange woman spoke once more, then vanished.

The disciple stood up and looked back at the red lake. Sure enough, it had changed. Deep within, a boundary gate now stood.

The woman had not lied; the trial inside this lake had indeed been cleared.

And the most difficult part had been solved by Chu Feng on her behalf.

Buzz…

Just then, the strange woman who had disappeared reappeared.

“By the way, there is one more thing I nearly forgot to tell you.”

The strange woman said to the disciple.
