At this moment, the Heavenly Dao was on the verge of collapse!
The great Tianming had finally given up on destroying the world, but if this foolish Yi Yi woman provoked her killing intent again, it would truly be a catastrophe!
If Tianming decided to annihilate the New World, even her master couldn’t stop her!
In Tianming’s eyes, aside from her brother, no one else mattered!
Hearing the Heavenly Dao’s words, Yi Yi flew into a rage. “You dare insult me!”
The Heavenly Dao stared at her coldly. “I *am* the Heavenly Dao!”
Yi Yi froze, then roared, “Nonsense! A pathetic dog like you, the Heavenly Dao? You…”
The Heavenly Dao’s right hand clenched fiercely.
Boom!
Yi Yi was instantly erased!
He had intended to show the Strange Ghost Clan some face, but he could no longer tolerate this.
She was too idiotic!
After dealing with Yi Yi, the Heavenly Dao turned to the woman in the plain skirt. Hesitating, he said respectfully, “My lady, I’ve caused you trouble.”
The woman looked at him. “Take good care of my brother.”
The Heavenly Dao hurriedly nodded. “Yes, yes!”
She turned to Ye Xuan, silent for a moment before saying, “Big Brother, once I’m done, I’ll come find you.”
Ye Xuan nodded. “Alright.”
She smiled faintly, gave him a gentle hug, and vanished on the spot.
Gone!
Ye Xuan looked up at the depths of the starry sky, frowning. What was Qing’er up to?
After a moment of silence, he turned to Zhao Ming, whose soul was now almost entirely faded, hanging by a thread.
Ye Xuan asked, “Want to live?”
Zhao Ming nodded frantically.
Ye Xuan nodded. “Send ten billion Dimensional Saint Crystals to Dao Sect. You have three days.”
With that, he turned to leave.
But Zhao Ming, trembling, said, “Young Master Ye, no need for three days. I’ll give them to you now!”
Ye Xuan’s expression froze.
Damn it!
He’d been too hasty again!
Moments later, after receiving the crystals, Ye Xuan left with Qin Guan.
The Heavenly Dao didn’t follow. He stopped Dao Yan. “Is Young Master Ye doing well at Dao Sect?”
Dao Yan gave a wry smile. “What do you think?”
The Heavenly Dao stared at him. “Don’t give me that look. I’m telling you, this is a massive opportunity for your sect. Understand?”
Dao Yan’s expression sharpened. “How so?”
The Heavenly Dao said softly, “When she comes to pick up Young Master Ye, she’ll surely grant you and Dao Sect a great fortune. Just wait. Of course, that’s only if you take good care of him.”
Dao Yan nodded. “I understand.”
He thought of something and added, “The Strange Ghost Clan…”
The Heavenly Dao’s face was expressionless. “I’ll handle it.”
Dao Yan nodded. “Good.”
He was relieved, as he really didn’t want to deal with the Strange Ghost Clan.
…
Elsewhere, in the starry void, Boundless Lord cursed furiously, “That Backer King! That damned Backer King! How did he end up in the New World? What a mess!”
He hadn’t expected Ye Xuan to reach the New World. By his calculations, it should’ve taken Ye Xuan tens of thousands of years!
Monk Wu suddenly said, “Could Tianming have brought him here?”
Boundless Lord’s face darkened.
Clearly, Tianming had brought Ye Xuan to this place!
But why had she brought him here?
His brow furrowed deeply.
The Deity spoke up, “What about Dao New Sect…”
Boundless Lord shook his head, sighing softly.
If it were anyone else, he might’ve protected them, but this was the Backer King, and that woman was there…
He sighed again. “What a mess! This Backer King is like a lingering ghost!”
Monk Wu suddenly said, “I don’t think it’s a coincidence. Boundless, could we have been set up by the Master of the Great Dao Pen?”
Boundless Lord’s brow furrowed.
The Deity added, “I also think it’s too convenient. Are we really being manipulated by him?”
Boundless Lord’s eyes narrowed. He opened his palm, and countless eerie runes gathered in it, each containing terrifying laws of the Great Dao.
In an instant, he had condensed countless such laws!
This display alone was enough to outshine countless powerhouses.
Moments later, his brow furrowed deeply.
Seeing this, the Deity and Monk Wu’s faces changed drastically.
They didn’t understand these laws, but they could feel that any one could easily destroy them!
The two exchanged glances. Boundless Lord was formidable!
Suddenly, Boundless Lord waved his sleeve, and the laws vanished without a trace.
His face twisted with rage. “You’re actually setting me up! Damn it!”
Monk Wu hesitated, then asked, “Is the Master of the Great Dao Pen really orchestrating this?”
Boundless Lord glanced at him. “Big Brother, he’s orchestrating *me*, not you. What about you is worth his attention?”
Monk Wu’s expression froze. That stung!
Boundless Lord took a deep breath, looking at the heavens. “What ending have you planned for me?”
No response came.
He nodded slightly. “Fine, you’re the boss.”
Monk Wu asked gravely, “What now?”
Boundless Lord was silent for a moment before smiling. “Know how to get a good ending?”
Monk Wu hesitated. “You’re not going to resist?”
Boundless Lord glanced at him. “You think that’d work?”
Monk Wu said, “With your strength, you can’t resist him?”
Boundless Lord said softly, “I need a different approach.”
Monk Wu frowned. “A different approach?”
Boundless Lord nodded. “Fighting him head-on won’t work. No one can kill him right now, not even that woman, unless she abandons the Backer King, which she clearly won’t. So, no direct confrontation. I need another way.”
The Deity asked curiously, “What way?”
Boundless Lord said softly, “Ye Xuan.”
Ye Xuan!
The Deity and Monk Wu were puzzled.
Boundless Lord thought for a moment, then said, “What’s my situation? As long as I don’t oppose the Backer King, no one can kill me. But now, he’s orchestrating me, meaning there might be an unknown, powerful entity emerging…”
His brow furrowed deeply. “Let me predict my next plotline. Option one: keep living freely, but that’s risky. If I keep going, I might just vanish one day. It’s possible. Option two: I gradually align with the Backer King, team up to face an unknown enemy in the future, and in that battle, he survives, while I die heroically, earning some tears…”
He chuckled. “Quite likely!”
The Deity and Monk Wu exchanged glances, staying silent.
Boundless Lord continued, “Option three: I become a villain, keep targeting the Backer King. But he’s not playing fair anymore. Opposing him would lead to an even worse end.”
His eyes narrowed. “Final option: I vanish from this world entirely, becoming a figure of the past, existing only in legend.”
Monk Wu hesitated, then asked, “Which one do you think it is?”
Boundless Lord closed his eyes slowly. “You know, a person’s fate is often set, but sometimes it’s not. Choices matter. Every choice shapes your future. The Master of the Great Dao Pen isn’t forcing me; he’s letting me choose.”
Monk Wu asked gravely, “We can choose?”
Boundless Lord nodded. “Yes, but it’s hard.”
Monk Wu was confused. “Hard?”
Boundless Lord nodded. “Aside from birth, for kids from ordinary families, changing their circumstances requires immense effort. Their parents can’t provide a better platform, so their starting conditions and perspective are far behind those born privileged. Some work their whole lives for what others have at birth…”
He shook his head. “It’s complex, so I won’t dwell on it. My point is, like many in the Milky Way, if people spent less time playing and more time studying or improving, their futures would be better. But most can’t do it. They play recklessly when they shouldn’t, leading to a mediocre life.”
He looked at Monk Wu. “I once met a young man at a nightclub, dirt poor. I asked why he didn’t work hard. He said if he didn’t play now, he wouldn’t get the chance after marriage.”
Monk Wu asked, “What happened?”
Boundless Lord said flatly, “He couldn’t even afford a wife.”
Monk Wu’s expression froze.
Boundless Lord continued, “The Milky Way is a brutally practical place. Money matters everywhere, but there, it’s everything. The world reeks of greed. They measure people by wealth—rich, you’re king; poor, you’re nothing.”
He shook his head. “That’s the fate of small people, decided by money. For cultivators like us, our fate hinges on life, death, and the future.”
Looking to the horizon, he said softly, “If I can’t reach that woman’s level, how am I different from that nightclub kid? He couldn’t afford a wife; I might lose the right to choose.”
Monk Wu suddenly said, “Rebel against him!”
Boundless Lord looked at him. Monk Wu said gravely, “Let’s join the Backer King and rebel together! The Master of the Great Dao Pen doesn’t seem *that* impressive. Really, if we side with the woman in the plain skirt, he’s just a nobody…”
