Below, the chief’s face relaxed at last.

Some time later, Ye Xuan arrived in a boundless star-field, silent and dead. Corpses drifted all around.
An Lanxiu materialised beside him.
She surveyed the void, voice soft. “Where are we?”
Ye Xuan answered quietly, “This should be the Void Truth Path leading to the Void Truth World!”
He gazed toward the distant horizon. “Legend says the Primordial Clan’s ancestor lies somewhere along this road. True or not, who knows.”
An Lanxiu warned, “Stay cautious!”
Ye Xuan nodded.
They pressed deeper into the star-field. Countless floating corpses lined the way.
Gazing at them, Ye Xuan fell silent.
These, he knew, were once mighty experts who had challenged the Void Truth Path!

A deafening explosion erupted far ahead. A ferocious shock-wave roared towards them!
Ye Xuan’s eyes narrowed. He opened his palm. A strand of intent-sword flashed out!

He looked ahead. A long-haired man suddenly materialised before them.
The man frowned, sized them up, then asked, “From below?”
Ye Xuan nodded.
The man continued, “Heading to the Void Truth World?”
Ye Xuan confirmed, “Yes!”
The man’s expression turned odd.
Ye Xuan asked, “You’re coming from the Void Truth World?”
The man nodded, “Correct.”
Ye Xuan frowned. “Is it chaotic up there?”
The man flashed a toothy grin, saying nothing.
Ye Xuan glanced at him, then led An Lanxiu onward.
Suddenly the man called out, laughing, “Friend, spare some coin for a wanderer?”
Ye Xuan turned. The man grinned wider. “Just a little emergency aid!”
Ye Xuan smiled back. “And if I refuse?”
The man blinked. “Then I’ll take it myself!”
He vanished.
BOOM!
A surge of black light blasted towards Ye Xuan, boiling the star-field!
Ye Xuan remained calm. He raised his hand and thrust a sword!
BOOM!
Sword-light exploded. The long-haired man was hurled thousands of zhang away!
Before he steadied, a spear streaked in!
BOOM!
He was flung back again!
Stopping at last, he stared at his right palm. A deep sword-gash marred it.
Shock filled him. He looked at Ye Xuan. “Sword cultivator!”
Ye Xuan stepped forward.

A sword tore through the void!
Far away, the man’s pupils shrank. He clenched his fist and punched!
BOOM!
Sword-light collided with raw force!
In an instant, the man rocketed ten thousand zhang backward. Before he halted, another spear arrived!
His eyes widened. He crossed his arms to block!

A dull thud rang out. He flew once more. Mid-flight, another flying sword slashed down!

Sword-light flared. His body exploded into nothingness.
Only his soul remained, horrified. “Wai…”

Spear and sword pierced his brow.
His pupils dilated. He froze in place!
Ye Xuan flicked his sleeve. Azure Abyss Sword absorbed the soul.
He spread his palm. The sword returned.
Ye Xuan looked at An Lanxiu, surprise in his eyes!
He discovered her strength had reached the same terrifying level!
An Lanxiu walked over. “What is it?”
Ye Xuan smiled. “Little An, you’re incredible!”
An Lanxiu nodded. “Not bad!”
Ye Xuan laughed heartily. “Come! Let’s carve our way along this Void Truth Path!”
An Lanxiu nodded.
They continued onward. Along the way, she asked softly, “Can we kill our way to the Void Truth World?”
Ye Xuan laughed. “We can!”
An Lanxiu glanced at him. He roared with laughter. “Onward!”
With that, both turned into streaks of light and vanished at the star-field’s end!
Time unknown. Ye Xuan and An Lanxiu halted. Ahead stood a black-armoured figure, spear in hand, still as a statue!
The warrior slowly opened his eyes. He fixed them on Ye Xuan. “This road is closed!”
Ye Xuan grinned. “Do you know who I am?”
The warrior stared. “The King of Backers!”
Ye Xuan’s smile froze.
