Ye Qiu replied, “What’s there to fear? I’m here. Even if it’s poisonous, I can cure you.”
I’d rather not suffer like that, Xiao Zhan thought.
“Boss, why don’t you test it first?” Xiao Zhan suggested.
“Fine!” Ye Qiu fearlessly took big bites.
As he ate, he commented, “This meat tastes great.”
“It’s similar to snake meat but fresher and more tender.”
“Shame we’re in the wilderness without cumin or chilli powder, or it’d be top-notch… huh?”
Suddenly, Ye Qiu’s expression changed.
Xiao Zhan, alarmed, asked, “Boss, is the meat poisoned?”
Ye Qiu didn’t answer, his face flushed red, like he’d been drinking.
“Boss, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me! If you’re poisoned, no one here can save you…”
Before Xiao Zhan could finish, Ye Qiu, like a ravenous wolf, devoured all the remaining grilled meat.
The meat was meant for three, at least several dozen jin in weight.
Ye Qiu wolfed it down, and in no time, all of it was in his stomach.
