“Make me regret it for life? Try it!”
Hearing Ye Qiu’s words, the middle-aged man’s face darkened, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
It was the first time someone had spoken to him like this. Even high-ranking city officials treated him with courtesy, yet this young man was so brazen.
Could this guy have some backing?
The middle-aged man was cautious.
After all, children at elite private schools usually came from wealthy or influential families.
“Teacher Xu, what’s this guy’s background?” he whispered.
Teacher Xu, unaware of Ye Qiu’s origins, said, “I don’t know, but I know his wife runs a beauty salon, has a bit of money.”
So that’s it.
The middle-aged man relaxed, saying to Ye Qiu, “I’ll remind you one last time, apologise to Teacher Xu immediately.”
“And your daughter must apologise to my son, until he forgives her.”
“Otherwise, not only will your daughter be expelled, I guarantee no school in Jiangzhou will take her.”
Ye Qiu sneered, “Such big talk. You think you control all the schools in Jiangzhou?”
The middle-aged man laughed, “You’re not wrong, I do control all the schools in Jiangzhou.”
Oh?
Ye Qiu was slightly surprised.
Teacher Xu chimed in, “Director Cao is the head of Jiangzhou’s education department. Offend him, and do you think any school in Jiangzhou would dare take your daughter?”
“Apologise to me now.”
“My demand isn’t much, just let me slap you three times.”
The boy named Cao Dong pointed at Xixi, saying, “Little bastard, if you crawl under my legs and call me daddy, I’ll forgive you.”
“No way,” Xixi snapped angrily.
The boy said menacingly, “If you don’t apologise today, when I grow up, I’ll lock you up, make you my slave forever, and you’ll wish you were dead.”
It was hard to believe such words came from a young child.
What infuriated Ye Qiu most was the middle-aged man standing by, completely unmoved, his face expressionless.
Boom!
Ye Qiu’s gaze sharpened like a blade, like a beast staring at the boy, his eyes brimming with killing intent.
How could a young child withstand Ye Qiu’s chilling stare? A single glance scared him to tears.
“Wah—”
The boy sat on the floor, crying loudly, shouting, “Dad, kill him!”
Seeing his son scared to tears by Ye Qiu, the middle-aged man was furious, pointing at Ye Qiu, “I’m asking you one last time, will you apologise?”
Ye Qiu said coldly, “Want me to apologise? In your dreams!”
“Fine, fine, fine!” The man said “fine” three times, laughing in anger, “If that’s how it is, don’t blame me. Teacher Xu, call security.”
Teacher Xu, eager to retaliate against Ye Qiu, immediately pulled out her phone and made a call.
Two minutes later.
Five sweating security guards appeared in the office.
“Teacher Xu, what’s the matter?” one guard asked.
Teacher Xu said, “It’s not me, it’s Director Cao who needs you.”
The guards glanced at the middle-aged man, fearing he was here to cause them trouble, their hearts uneasy.
The man pointed at Ye Qiu, ordering the guards, “This parent caused a scene at school, assaulted Teacher Xu, and refuses to apologise. Utterly lawless.”
“You lot, teach him a lesson.”
“Make him remember.”
It’s not about us, great.
The guards sighed in relief.
“Director Cao, don’t worry, we’ll make you satisfied.”
With that, the guards advanced on Ye Qiu.
“Daddy—” Xixi, scared, buried her head in Ye Qiu’s arms.
“Don’t be afraid, Xixi, it’s fine,” Ye Qiu said, ignoring the guards and looking at the man, “If you kneel and apologise now, I might consider letting you off.”
“What? You want Director Cao to kneel and apologise? Have you lost your mind?” Teacher Xu yelled at the guards, “Beat him to death!”
The guards suddenly sped up, rushing at Ye Qiu.
To them, dealing with a young man was an easy task.
But as they got close, before they could react, they were sent flying.
Clang, clang, clang!
The guards hit the floor, groaning in pain.
Everyone else was stunned.
The middle-aged man’s eyes narrowed, saying coldly, “No wonder you’re so arrogant, you’ve got some fighting skills. But you seem to forget, this is a society ruled by law.”
With that, he pulled out his phone and made a call.
Clearly, he was summoning help.
Ye Qiu didn’t stop him, curious to see who in Jiangzhou would dare challenge him on his turf.
The call connected.
“Old Wei, it’s Old Cao. I’m in a bit of trouble, bring some people to the school quick… Good, I’ll wait.”
The man hung up, looking at Ye Qiu, “Just wait, someone will deal with you soon.”
Teacher Xu quickly pulled over a chair for the man, fawning, “Director Cao, please sit.”
The man sat down, asking, “Teacher Xu, can my son win an award in the city-wide essay competition?”
Teacher Xu smiled, “Director Cao, rest assured, Cao Dong is bright, and I’ve polished his essay carefully. He’s sure to win.”
“I even checked with the judges privately, and they all said Cao Dong’s entry is a rare gem. Not just in our city, it could place well nationally.”
“Really?” The man was surprised, “Is my son’s essay that good?”
Teacher Xu laughed, “Absolutely, the judges love it.”
The man asked, “What’s the essay title?”
Teacher Xu replied, “*My Director Father*.”
The man chuckled.
Teacher Xu continued, “The judges said Cao Dong used simple words to deeply and delicately express a father’s love for his son, showing care and affection through ordinary events, with genuine emotion that moves readers to tears, like a modern *Backshadow*.”
“They also said Cao Dong has great literary talent. With proper nurturing, he could become a figure like Li Bai or Su Shi.”
“Two judges even want to take him as a personal disciple.”
“Not bad, that’s my son,” the man said, patting the boy’s head, “I’ll take you to the ocean park later.”
“Yay, yay!” The boy was thrilled.
Ten minutes later.
Suddenly, a group of uniformed police officers stormed in from outside.
