After ending the call with Wei Donghai, Elder Tang began issuing orders.
“War God, immediately notify the four National Medical Sages and top experts from major hospitals to rush to the East Sea War Zone Hospital… no, send fighter jets to escort them.”
“At the same time, the East Sea jurisdiction is now under lockdown. No one enters or leaves without permission.”
“Old Ye, contact Wushuang quickly, tell him to skip the uninhabited island and head straight to the East Sea War Zone Hospital.”
Elder Tang stood, addressing an old general, “Prepare a private plane, I’m going to the East Sea.”
“I’m going too,” Old Master Ye stood up.
“I’ll check on Ye Qiu as well,” the War God said.
The other old generals stood, saying in unison, “Elder Tang, we want to see Ye Qiu too. Please approve.”
Elder Tang glanced at them, knowing their concern for Ye Qiu, and said, “Very well, we’ll all go together!”
Ten minutes later, over a hundred fighter jets left the capital, heading grandly to the East Sea.
…
East Sea, War Zone Hospital.
After receiving Wei Donghai’s orders, Dean Xia Dawei swiftly cleared an entire hospital building and led the hospital’s top staff to wait at the entrance.
This stunned the medical staff and patients.
“The dean’s personally greeting someone? Is a higher-up coming to inspect?”
“I heard he just cleared a whole building. Must be a very important patient.”
“What kind of patient needs a whole building? That’s a bit much, isn’t it?”
“Shh, keep it down, don’t stir trouble.”
Just then, the roar of engines echoed.
Looking up, they saw a convoy of military-plated vehicles speeding in.
At least a dozen vehicles.
Leading was an Audi A8, followed by a military ambulance, with several trucks carrying armed soldiers trailing behind.
The Audi A8 stopped at the hospital entrance, and a general stepped out.
It was Wei Donghai.
“Commander Wei!”
Dean Xia hurried forward with the hospital’s senior staff, extending a hand to shake.
But Wei Donghai, as if not seeing it, asked directly, “Dean Xia, is everything arranged?”
“I’ve followed your orders, cleared a hospital building, and assembled an emergency medical team on standby,” Dean Xia said, glancing at the ambulance. “Commander Wei, who is this patient to warrant your personal escort…”
“Don’t ask what you shouldn’t, or you’ll face military law,” Wei Donghai waved, and the convoy entered the hospital, stopping at the building.
Soon, soldiers carried a stretcher from the ambulance.
On it lay a young man drenched in blood.
Bai Bing and Old General Bai stepped out next.
Dean Xia recognised them, his eyelids twitching, wondering if the patient was from the Bai family.
Wei Donghai glanced at Ye Qiu on the stretcher and said to Bai Bing, “I’m leaving him with you for now. I have matters to attend to, I’ll be back later.”
“Alright,” Bai Bing nodded slightly.
Wei Donghai ordered Dean Xia, “Personally escort the patient to the ward and have the experts conduct a full examination immediately.”
“Remember, no mistakes.”
“If anything happens to the patient, be ready to face the consequences.”
Dean Xia broke into a cold sweat, quickly leading Bai Bing and the others into the building.
“Lockdown!”
At Wei Donghai’s command, the soldiers from the trucks disembarked, surrounding the building impenetrably.
Nearly ten minutes later, a rumble sounded.
Over a hundred vehicles stopped at the hospital entrance.
First out were uniformed bodyguards, followed by three elderly men from the lead car.
“My God, it’s Elder Tang, Old Ye, and the War God!”
“Why are these big shots here?”
Before the gasps settled, doors of the following cars opened, revealing a dozen elders, all generals with three gold stars on their shoulders.
“So many generals?”
“Their ranks aren’t lower than Commander Wei’s.”
“The patient Commander Wei brought must have an extraordinary identity.”
Then, doors of the dozens of cars behind opened, and over a hundred people emerged.
“The four National Medical Sages!”
“The dean of Capital Union Hospital!”
“Professor Chen, Professor Li, Professor Cao… bloody hell, why are so many top experts here?”
Wei Donghai strode to Elder Tang, standing at attention and saluting respectfully, “Greetings, Elder Tang.”
“Greetings, Old Ye.”
“Greetings, War God.”
“Where’s Ye Qiu?” Elder Tang asked.
Wei Donghai replied, “He’s in the ward. Old General Bai and Bai Bing are with him. I’ve ordered the hospital’s experts to examine him.”
“Take us there now,” Old Ye urged.
Wei Donghai led the way, guiding Elder Tang and the others into the building.
Two minutes later, they reached the ninth floor.
Dean Xia paced anxiously in the corridor outside the ward. As the hospital’s head and a skilled doctor, he could see Ye Qiu’s injuries were grave.
He feared failing to save Ye Qiu and facing Wei Donghai’s wrath.
“Dear God, please protect the patient, or my life’s at stake,” Dean Xia prayed silently.
“Dean Xia, how’s the patient?” Wei Donghai’s voice came from behind.
Dean Xia turned, struck speechless, thinking only, *Why are Elder Tang and the others here?*
Wei Donghai barked, “Dean Xia, I asked you a question. Answer me.”
Steadying himself, Dean Xia said, “The experts are examining the patient, Elder Tang…”
Elder Tang ignored him, leading the group to the ward’s window. Seeing Ye Qiu unconscious on the bed, their eyes reddened.
Though they’d seen his condition via video, witnessing it in person was a profound shock.
Some old generals quietly wiped tears.
Dean Xia glanced around, seeing over a hundred renowned doctors in the corridor, each a leading authority, and his fear grew.
*Who is this patient to draw so many big figures?*
After a while, the ward door opened, and the experts examining Ye Qiu emerged.
Seeing Elder Tang and the others, they too were gripped by unease.
Before they could greet him, Elder Tang asked, “How’s the patient inside?”
An elderly expert replied, “Report, Elder Tang, he’s too gravely injured. He can’t be saved.”
