Li Chengdi unleashed ninety-nine streams of dragon qi, shaking the heavens with an invincible aura.
“Damn, this guy’s a peak King Realm expert. I’m completely screwed!” The Long Eyebrow Immortal’s face was filled with despair.
Ye Qiu felt the same. His current cultivation couldn’t even handle ordinary King Realm experts, let alone a peak one.
With a bang, Li Chengdi lifted his right arm, effortlessly holding the four Qiankun Cauldrons, weighing at least four hundred thousand catties, with ease. Ye Qiu’s pupils shrank; it was terrifying.
“Kid, trying to stop me? Naive!” Li Chengdi sneered, releasing the Long Eyebrow Immortal and slowly swinging a palm at his cheek, the air crackling with immense power.
The Long Eyebrow Immortal, already despairing, was enraged. “Don’t hit the face! Li Chengdi, you bastard, I’ll fight you!” He channelled all his strength, drawing talismans that bombarded Li Chengdi.
Li Chengdi’s palm glowed, shattering the talismans like a tidal wave. The Long Eyebrow Immortal spat blood, flying backwards. “You’re too weak,” Li Chengdi said coldly, his eyes flashing with divine light. He reached out, pulling the Long Eyebrow Immortal towards him.
As a murderous smile appeared, Ye Qiu roared, “Dragon-Slaying Fist!” A golden fist like a star crashed towards Li Chengdi, who tossed the cauldrons at Ye Qiu. Dodging, Ye Qiu recalled them, but a crisp slap rang out. Li Chengdi struck the Long Eyebrow Immortal’s face, nearly shattering it.
“Don’t hit the face? What are you?” Li Chengdi taunted, deliberately humiliating him.
The Long Eyebrow Immortal cursed, “Li Chengdi, I’ll curse your ancestors!” Li Chengdi pointed, a radiant beam aiming to pierce his skull. Unable to move, the Long Eyebrow Immortal muttered, “I’m done.”
At the critical moment, Ye Qiu knocked him aside, taking the strike. A blood hole appeared above his left chest, two centimetres from his heart, sending him flying.
“Little rascal, you okay?” The Long Eyebrow Immortal rushed over, then raged, “Idiot, why block for me? If that hit your heart, you’d be dead!”
“If I didn’t, you’d be dead,” Ye Qiu retorted.
“Nonsense, I’m blessed and won’t die!”
“Enough, old thing. Stop pretending.”
The Long Eyebrow Immortal sighed. “Li Chengdi’s too strong. We need to escape.”
“You think I don’t want to? No chance against a peak King Realm expert,” Ye Qiu said.
“Not entirely. There’s a chance,” the Long Eyebrow Immortal whispered. “I’ll think of something.”
Surprised, Ye Qiu asked, “What’s your plan?”
“I’ve got a trick. When I say run, we run,” he said, pulling out dozens of copper coins, spitting blood on them, and chanting, “Supreme Star, transform without form, expel evil, bind spirits, protect life. Eight directions’ divine might, trap immortals, urgent as law!”
He threw the coins, which spun, emitting beams forming an array trapping Li Chengdi.
“Run!” They dashed for the door.
“A petty array? Laughable,” Li Chengdi sneered, striking. The array trembled but held. He struck again, shattering it, and appeared at the doorway.
Ye Qiu and the Long Eyebrow Immortal were at the cliff, sliding down the iron chain. Li Chengdi crossed a hundred metres, pointing to sever it. Sparks flew, but the chain was unharmed, clearly extraordinary.
“You can’t escape,” Li Chengdi said, leaping off the cliff. As they landed, he descended like an immortal, hands behind his back.
“We’re done! Peak King Realm experts can fly!” the Long Eyebrow Immortal cried.
Li Chengdi landed, blocking them. “Accept your deaths!”
As he prepared to strike, a dazed voice echoed, “Dead, dead…”
Li Chengdi turned, startled, seeing a ragged old man with white, withered hair and a stone sword in his head, walking silently like a ghost.
“Who are you?” Li Chengdi demanded, eyes deep as an abyss.
“Who am I? Who am I?” the old man repeated, eyes vacant, like a walking corpse.
“Just a lunatic,” Li Chengdi sneered, turning back to Ye Qiu and the Long Eyebrow Immortal. “Stop trying to escape. With your skills, you can’t get away. Accept your fate. If there’s a next life, come find me for revenge.”
He struck both with his palms.
“Old thing, run!” Ye Qiu shouted, summoning the four Qiankun Cauldrons to block.
With two clangs, Li Chengdi swatted the cauldrons a thousand metres away, collapsing a small peak.
Ye Qiu was horrified. Li Chengdi’s power was beyond comprehension, like a god. “I’ve faced King Realm experts, but compared to Li Chengdi, they’re nothing except Master Ancestor. The gap between ordinary and peak King Realm is vast. I might die here.”
He recalled the Long Eyebrow Immortal’s claim of being an immortal body, unkillable. “True or not, I’ll fight.”
Ye Qiu unleashed all his techniques: Taiji Thirteen Forms, Dragon-Slaying Fist, Peerless Sword Technique, Slaughter Technique, Six Meridians Divine Sword. But Li Chengdi’s white light shield stood firm.
“People think breaking through Foundation Building makes you a cultivator,” Li Chengdi said coldly. “But Foundation and Venerable realms don’t count. Only surpassing peak King Realm enters true cultivation. Ye Qiu, you’re too weak.”
His palm unleashed a mushroom-cloud-like divine light, radiating destructive power. Ye Qiu was frozen, unable to move. As Li Chengdi’s palm descended, two beams like lightning slashed at it—the Cyan-Purple Twin Swords.
With a clang, Li Chengdi’s palm was blocked. A faint blood mark appeared on his hand. Instead of anger, he smiled. “I planned to take you after killing. Since you’ve come to me, I’ll take you now.”
He reached for the swords, which countered as if sentient, piercing at his palms. His hands glowed, unleashing chaotic force. With two clangs, the swords flew back, no match for him.
“Great swords, but without a master, they’re scrap. Only with me will you shine,” Li Chengdi said, stepping a hundred metres to grab them.
The swords soared, arcing to Ye Qiu’s front. “I don’t know why you’re helping me, but lend me your strength,” he said, gripping them. He felt an instant connection.
Li Chengdi, envious, said darkly, “Give me the swords, and I’ll leave you a whole corpse.”
Ye Qiu charged, unleashing three strikes of the Grass Sword Art, breaking Li Chengdi’s shield but not harming him due to their vast cultivation gap.
He struck again with the Immortal-Slaying Sword, its terrifying edge flashing to Li Chengdi’s forehead. Startled, Li Chengdi barely blocked with both hands, as a dragon qi lashed out like a whip, sending Ye Qiu flying, coughing blood.
Li Chengdi bound the swords with two dragon qi, securing them. Overjoyed, he was interrupted by a slurred voice: “Give me the swords!”
It was the ragged old man with the stone sword in his head.
“Get lost!” Li Chengdi roared.
“Give me the swords,” the old man repeated.
“You’re asking for death!” Li Chengdi struck at the old man.
“Careful!” Ye Qiu tried to intervene, but Li Chengdi was too fast. His palm hit the old man’s chest.
Shockingly, the old man stood unscathed, unmoved, still muttering, “Give me the swords!”
