“Stop with that nonsense!”
Ye Qiu, with a stern face, said, “I repeatedly told you to keep an eye on the Rodell family’s movements. If not for my exceptional skills, you wouldn’t even see my corpse today.”
“This is your grave negligence.”
“Suzaku, do you know your fault…”
Before Ye Qiu could finish, Cao Qingcheng was already tugging at his belt.
“What are you doing?” Ye Qiu barked.
“Master, I know I was wrong. I’m willing to accept punishment.” Cao Qingcheng looked up at Ye Qiu, feigning a pitiful expression, though her hands didn’t stop.
“Stop it, no messing around, I’m warning you… oh…”
Ye Qiu shuddered, slumping back into the chair.
Ten minutes later.
Cao Qingcheng stood up, pursed her lips, and sat on Ye Qiu’s lap, cooing, “Master, did you like it?”
Ye Qiu kept his stern face. “Don’t think this will make me forgive you.”
“Master, you misunderstand. I failed terribly this time, how dare I ask for forgiveness? I just hope you won’t be so angry. After all, anger harms the liver, and as a doctor, you know this better than I do, right?”
After speaking, Cao Qingcheng swiftly shed her clothes.
In an instant, a flash of fair skin caught the eye.
Ye Qiu’s heart skipped a beat. “What are you doing now?”
“Master, I’m helping you cool off.” Cao Qingcheng wrapped her arms around Ye Qiu’s neck, leaning in slightly.
A fragrant scent filled the air.
Cao Qingcheng whispered in his ear, “Master, wash your face.”
This wasn’t cooling him off, it was fanning the flames.
Soon enough.
The Hummer began to rock.
After who knows how long, everything finally settled.
Cao Qingcheng nestled in Ye Qiu’s arms, murmuring, “Master, has your anger subsided?”
“And if it hasn’t?”
“Then we continue.” Cao Qingcheng said, “We can’t let anger harm your liver. For your health, I’m willing to give my all.”
Ye Qiu’s mouth twitched.
Continuing might be good for the liver, but not so kind to the kidneys.
Of course, with Ye Qiu’s current physique, even a full day wouldn’t do harm. The issue was his mind was on other matters, with no time to waste.
“Qingcheng, put your clothes on, I need to talk business.” Ye Qiu said.
Cao Qingcheng didn’t move, asking, “Master, have you forgiven me? If you have, I’ll listen. If not, I…”
“Or what?” Ye Qiu asked.
Cao Qingcheng smiled at him, her intentions clear without words.
Ye Qiu’s head ached. “Fine, I’ve forgiven you, alright?”
“Master, you’re the best.” Cao Qingcheng kissed his cheek, then dressed and sat beside him.
“Qingcheng, I…”
Ye Qiu barely started when his phone rang. He checked it, a familiar number.
Mai’er’s father.
The head of the Rodell family!
“Idiot who doesn’t know when to quit, daring to contact me.” Ye Qiu sneered, pressing accept.
“Still able to answer my call, looks like you’re not dead?” A man’s voice came through.
“Disappointed, are you?” Ye Qiu retorted coldly.
“Not at all. If you died that easily, I’d lose interest.” The man said, “Today was just the first time. There’ll be a second, a third… until you’re dead.”
“I’ll not only kill you, I’ll wipe out your entire family.”
“The vengeance for my son’s death is irreconcilable. I’ll use your life, and your family’s lives, to honour him.”
“I…”
“You’re a dead man!” Ye Qiu hung up before the Rodell family head could finish, then asked, “Suzaku, do you know the exact location of the Rodell family?”
“I do, they’re in Berlin.” Cao Qingcheng replied.
Ye Qiu’s voice was icy. “Book me a ticket immediately. I’m going to wipe them out.”
Cao Qingcheng was alarmed, urging, “You need to think this through.”
“The Rodell family isn’t just any elite family, they’re the world’s top family.”
“They control vast wealth and have business ties with most countries globally. They’re on close terms with many royal families.”
“Plus, for the Rodell family to stand tall for so long, they must have powerful figures in their ranks.”
“Wiping them out will face immense resistance.”
“Not to mention the world’s nations, even Elder Tang will stop you. If you act, countries will pressure our nation.”
“And…”
“Enough.” Ye Qiu cut in coldly. “I know all this. The Rodell family is done for.”
Cao Qingcheng knew she couldn’t sway Ye Qiu once he’d decided. “I’ll have Qilin and the others go with you, more hands make lighter work.”
“No need.” Ye Qiu said again. “Book the ticket now.”
“Yes.” Cao Qingcheng booked the ticket while saying, “I’ll send you the Rodell family’s detailed info later. Be careful.”
“Good!” Ye Qiu nodded, opened the car door, and left.
Cao Qingcheng sat in the car, murmuring, “Taking on the Rodell family means making an enemy of the entire West.”
“This trip is fraught with danger. I need to inform Elder Tang.”
“Hopefully, Elder Tang can talk him down!”
Cao Qingcheng dialled a number. Soon, it connected.
“Get me Elder Tang, I have urgent news for him.”
…
Somewhere in the West.
An embassy.
Elder Tang, on a foreign visit, tried contacting Ye Qiu immediately after getting the news, but the call wouldn’t go through.
“That kid blocked me, outrageous!”
Elder Tang was annoyed.
“Grandpa, what’s wrong?” Tangtang asked. She was accompanying Elder Tang on this cultural exchange visit.
“Contact Ye Qiu quick, that kid’s about to stir trouble.” Elder Tang said.
“What’s he planning?” Tangtang asked curiously.
“No time for questions, it’ll be too late. Call Ye Qiu now.” Elder Tang urged.
Tangtang dialled Ye Qiu’s number, but before she could speak, Elder Tang snatched the phone.
“Ye Qiu, what’s the meaning of this? Why’d you block my number?” Elder Tang demanded.
Ye Qiu chuckled. “I was afraid you’d stop me. Don’t worry, once this is settled, I’ll unblock you.”
“You’re still laughing at a time like this?” Elder Tang said gravely. “Ye Qiu, don’t be rash.”
“The Rodell family isn’t ordinary. Acting against them will shake the world.”
“Their every move can sway global economics.”
Ye Qiu said, “I understand.”
“If you understand, you know what I mean, right?” Elder Tang asked.
“I do.”
“Good.”
“Anything else, Elder Tang?”
“Nothing more.”
“Then I’m boarding!”
