At four-thirty in the morning.
The plane landed at the Capital International Airport.
As Ye Qiu stepped off the plane, he spotted Tangtang.
Tangtang was wearing a white trench coat, a hat, and sunglasses, covering herself tightly, standing beside an Audi with a special licence plate.
Like a lotus flower, graceful and elegant.
Even with most of her face concealed, she drew many gazes.
“She’s gorgeous!”
A young man had just spoken when a heavyset middle-aged woman beside him grabbed his ear.
“Staring at what? Keep looking, and I’ll gouge your eyes out,” the woman snapped fiercely.
The young man hurriedly explained, “Darling, don’t misunderstand, I meant the car is nice.”
The woman scoffed, “What’s so nice about a lousy Audi? Is it better than the Bentley I bought you?”
“I’m warning you. You spend my money, sleep with me, and if you dare two-time me, I’ll castrate you.”
The young man flinched, forcing a smile as he wrapped his arm around the woman’s thick waist. “Darling, trust me, I’ll only ever love you.”
“That’s more like it.” The woman glanced at Tangtang, jealousy in her eyes, and snorted, “When I was young, I was a hundred times prettier than her.”
“Yes, yes, you’re the prettiest,” the young man said half-heartedly, then asked, “Where to now?”
“Take me home. My husband’s waiting. I can’t stay with you tonight.” The woman tossed a stack of red banknotes from her bag to the young man.
He quickly caught the money, pretending reluctance. “I’ll miss you tonight without you.”
The woman kissed his face. “Rest up tonight. I’ll find you tomorrow, be good~”
The young man nodded, then glanced at the woman’s figure, then at Tangtang’s. The comparison made him want to die.
Serving a rich woman was tough!
“Ye Qiu!”
Tangtang called out, running over and throwing herself into Ye Qiu’s arms.
The young man, witnessing this, looked at Ye Qiu with envy, thinking, Why is the gap between people so huge?
“It’s so late, why did you come to pick me up?” Ye Qiu asked, holding Tangtang.
“I missed you.” Tangtang stood on her toes, kissed Ye Qiu’s cheek, then took his hand. “Come with me.”
Once in the car.
Tangtang said apologetically, “I was abroad with Grandpa for a visit a few days ago. I couldn’t attend Ruyi’s full-moon celebration. I’m sorry.”
Ye Qiu smiled. “It’s no big deal, don’t worry about it. By the way, let me show you something.”
“What is it?”
“You’ll see.”
Ye Qiu took a chest out of his Qiankun Bag.
Tangtang was shocked. “This chest is made of gold?”
“Yep.” Ye Qiu opened it, took out the scroll, and handed it to Tangtang.
“What’s this? A painting?” Tangtang asked as she unrolled the scroll.
The next moment, she gasped.
“My God, this is Johannes Vermeer’s *The Concert*!”
“This painting was stolen from a museum decades ago.”
“Ye Qiu, where did you get this?”
Ye Qiu said, “Don’t worry about where I got it. Tell me, do you like it?”
Tangtang nodded vigorously. “I love it! I absolutely love it!”
“It’s yours,” Ye Qiu said.
“What, you’re giving it to me? Are you serious?” Tangtang asked, overwhelmed.
Ye Qiu laughed. “You like it, don’t you? Keep it!”
Tangtang said, “But this painting is too valuable. Decades ago, it was worth hundreds of millions of dollars. If auctioned now, it would fetch an astronomical price. And its artistic value can’t be measured in money.”
“Is it more valuable than you?” Ye Qiu’s words made Tangtang blush.
He continued, “Besides, I don’t know anything about oil paintings. To me, it’s just a piece of paper. Better to give it to someone who appreciates it.”
Tangtang said happily, “Ye Qiu, thank you.”
Ye Qiu grinned mischievously. “Don’t just thank me with words. How about some action?”
Tangtang turned, wrapped her arms around Ye Qiu’s neck, and kissed him.
Ye Qiu responded passionately.
Soon, the car’s temperature rose.
They held each other, reluctant to part.
After a long while, struggling to breathe, they finally separated.
Tangtang glanced at her clothes, blushing. “Why did you go so hard? My clothes are all wrinkled.”
“Didn’t you like it?” Ye Qiu teased.
Tangtang, face red, couldn’t respond.
“It’s not dawn yet. How about we go to a hotel?” Ye Qiu suggested.
Tangtang, understanding his meaning, shook her head, blushing.
Ye Qiu added, “Or, right here in the car?”
Thump!
Tangtang tapped Ye Qiu’s head, annoyed. “Ye Qiu, if you keep this up, I’ll ignore you. I’m taking you to the August First Building. Grandpa and the War God are waiting.”
With that, Tangtang started the car and drove Ye Qiu away from the airport.
Forty minutes later.
They arrived at the August First Building.
Ye Qiu went straight to Old Tang’s office, pushed the door open, and saw Old Tang with bloodshot eyes, clearly having not slept all night.
“You finally made it back.”
Old Tang said grumpily, “You wiped them out and didn’t tell me sooner, making me worry for so long.”
“Your blood pressure didn’t spike, did it?” Ye Qiu asked with a smile.
The War God chimed in, “Don’t mention it. After your call, Old Tang’s blood pressure shot up to one-eighty, scaring the health team half to death.”
“But honestly, I didn’t expect you to take out the Rodell family so quickly.”
“To think, the world’s top family, capable of influencing global economics, is gone just like that. It feels like a dream.”
“Without the Rodell family, the West’s economy will surely face some turbulence.”
“Ye Qiu, you did well this time. Keep it up.”
As soon as the War God finished, Old Tang glared at him, snorting, “Keep it up?”
“War God, what are you saying? Encouraging him to wipe out more world-class families?”
“Or to take out all the guardians of those Western countries?”
“Hmm, that’s not a bad idea,” the War God said. “From now on, any country that crosses us, we send Ye Qiu to take out their guardians and intimidate them.”
“Enough, stop stirring trouble,” Old Tang snapped at the War God.
The latter just smiled.
Old Tang continued, “Ye Qiu, you were too reckless this time. The Rodell family had so many experts. What if you weren’t their match?”
“If something happened to you, how would I explain it to your grandfather?”
“Ye Qiu, I need to reprimand you…”
“Hold on!” Ye Qiu interrupted. “Old Tang, is your blood pressure normal now?”
“If it is, I have a surprise for you!”
