Upon hearing Ye Qiu’s voice, everyone hurriedly stopped in their tracks, each one on high alert as if facing a great enemy.
However, after a moment, they found nothing.
“You little rascal, what’s got into you?” Master Longbrow grumbled discontentedly.
“Look at the walls,” Ye Qiu said.
Master Longbrow held up a flame talisman and moved closer to the wall. Instantly, everyone clearly saw traces of human excavation on the cave’s stone walls.
“Eh, this cave was man-made?”
“Who would dig a cave here?”
“Digging such a large cave, that’s quite a project!”
“…”
Everyone whispered among themselves.
“This place is not simple, everyone be careful,” Ye Qiu warned.
The group nodded and continued forward.
“Whoosh!”
Suddenly, a chilling wind arose.
The cave was already cold, and with the relentless eerie wind, everyone had to channel their energy to resist the chill.
Xiao Zhan, with the weakest cultivation, shivered uncontrollably despite using his energy to ward off the cold.
Seeing this, Ye Qiu placed a hand on Xiao Zhan’s shoulder, transferring a strand of true qi into him.
Instantly, Xiao Zhan felt warm and comfortable.
“Thanks, boss,” Xiao Zhan said gratefully.
“No need for thanks,” Ye Qiu replied, his eyes continuing to scan the surroundings.
After walking about three hundred metres, they finally emerged from the cave.
Before them lay an open area with a staircase paved with bluestone.
The group stepped onto the bluestone staircase and continued forward.
After a few minutes, another cave appeared before them.
This cave was vast, with two bronze giants standing at its entrance.
The two bronze giants, about thirty metres tall, one holding a long sword and the other a battle axe, stood like guardian deities, glaring fiercely and exuding an imposing aura.
“Swish!”
Master Longbrow darted forward to one of the bronze giants and reached out to touch it.
“My goodness, two massive bronze giants like these, they must be worth a fortune, right?”
Master Longbrow shouted, “Little rascal, use the Qiankun Bag to take them. We’ll split the profits when we sell them.”
Ye Qiu rolled his eyes. This old man was truly obsessed with wealth.
Priest Chongxu said irritably, “You greedy dog, we’re here to find the Dragon Vein, not to cause trouble.”
Fairy Baihua added, “The Dragon Vein is the priority.”
“Compared to these two bronze giants, I can tell which is more important. I was just joking, hehe,” Master Longbrow said, then added, “I wonder who placed these two bronze giants here?”
Fairy Baihua said, “Never mind that, finding the Dragon Vein is what matters.”
Master Longbrow glanced at Fairy Baihua and said meaningfully, “Fairy, why do I feel you’re so eager to get the Dragon Vein?”
“Don’t you want it?” Fairy Baihua countered.
“Of course I want the Dragon Vein, but I just feel…” Master Longbrow began.
“Enough nonsense, let’s find the Dragon Vein,” Fairy Baihua interrupted impatiently, afraid he might probe further and expose her intentions.
“The fairy is right. Finding the Dragon Vein is the top priority,” Master Longbrow said, squinting as he stared into the cave.
The cave entrance was pitch black, like a beast with its jaws wide open, waiting for prey to walk into its trap.
“You greedy dog, why aren’t you going in?” Priest Chongxu asked, noticing Master Longbrow standing still.
“No rush. Let me divine a hexagram to determine fortune or misfortune,” Master Longbrow said, pulling three copper coins from his robe sleeve and muttering incantations.
Then, with a flick of his hand, the coins spun above his head, emitting a humming sound.
After ten seconds, Master Longbrow extended his palm, and with a “snap,” the three coins landed in a straight line.
“Master, what does the hexagram say?” Xiao Zhan asked.
Master Longbrow chuckled, “A sign of great fortune.”
Hearing this, Ye Qiu’s heart sank.
He knew Master Longbrow well. Most of the time, his divinations were to be taken in reverse.
“It seems this trip might be dangerous,” Ye Qiu thought, stepping forward to inspect the two bronze giants.
He was certain they weren’t placed here without reason.
After a quick look and finding nothing unusual, he circled to the back of the giants.
The next moment, his eyes narrowed.
At that moment, Master Longbrow laughed, “The hexagram shows great fortune, indicating a smooth journey. It looks like we’ll obtain the Dragon Vein…”
“Come here quickly,” Ye Qiu said, pointing to the back of the bronze giants.
Everyone hurried over, and upon looking up, their expressions changed.
On the backs of the two bronze giants were four blood-red seal characters each.
Left: Kunlun Forbidden Land.
Right: Trespassers Die!
Priest Chongxu snorted, “You greedy dog, looks like your divination was off!”
“Nonsense!” Master Longbrow retorted. “The hexagram clearly shows great fortune. Besides, we haven’t encountered any danger.”
Priest Chongxu said, “Didn’t you see the words ‘Trespassers Die’?”
“Ox-nose, you’re not scared by a few words, are you? You’re a sect leader, yet so timid? And have you ever seen such a shabby forbidden land?” Master Longbrow said. “I don’t believe this rundown place is the Kunlun Forbidden Land.”
Lüluo asked, “Should we still go in?”
“Why not?”
“Of course we should!”
Master Longbrow and Fairy Baihua spoke in unison, exchanging a glance.
“Ye Qiu, I’ll follow your lead,” Priest Chongxu said. “If you say go in, I’ll go. If not, we turn back now.”
Ye Qiu also wanted the Dragon Vein and said, “Since we’re here, let’s take a look!”
“Whether this Kunlun Forbidden Land is real or not, we’ll know once we go in.”
“With so many experts here, even if we encounter some danger, we should handle it easily.”
Master Longbrow grinned, “Ox-nose, see? The little rascal has more guts than you. You’re getting old.”
Priest Chongxu snapped, “You’re the old one!”
Master Longbrow said, “I may be old in years, but my ambition isn’t. Unlike you, scared at the slightest thing. You’re a coward.”
“I’m no coward,” Priest Chongxu retorted.
“Really? Then you lead the way.”
Priest Chongxu realised Master Longbrow was goading him to take the lead, putting himself in the line of danger first.
“You sly dog, trying to provoke me? Hmph, I won’t fall for it!” Priest Chongxu snorted.
“What, you don’t dare lead?” Master Longbrow mocked. “Who would’ve thought the grand leader of Wudang Mountain is a coward? I’m dying of laughter.”
“Ox-nose, you should change your name. Why call yourself Priest Chongxu? Just call yourself a shrinking turtle…”
“Shut up!” Priest Chongxu roared. “What’s so scary about leading the way?”
