The dragon roar shook the heavens.
The next moment, a series of “crack, crack, crack” sounds echoed, and the ground trembled violently.
The twenty-eight copper pillars, as if startled by a great force, suddenly sank back into the ground, as though they had never appeared.
The scene returned to calm.

Ye Qiu’s brow twitched. Why had the deadly formation suddenly vanished?

Ye Qiu looked up at the ten dragon veins atop the snow mountain. At that moment, all ten dragon veins were looking at him.
“Why do I feel like their gazes seem joyful, excited, and… a bit fearful?”
“Could these dragon veins be afraid of me?”
Ye Qiu thought this and gave a self-deprecating smile. “I’m just a mortal from the mundane world. Why would dragon veins fear me?”
At that moment, Master Longbrow approached Ye Qiu, laughing heartily. “Little rascal, I knew you wouldn’t let us die. You’re a good man.”
Ye Qiu said, “It wasn’t me…”
“Little rascal, don’t deny it. I saw you use the four Qiankun Cauldrons just now,” Master Longbrow said. “The Qiankun Cauldrons are divine artifacts, capable of suppressing even a spirit-transforming array. Breaking this formation was no big deal.”
Master Longbrow grinned. “I owe you one. When we get back, I’ll treat you to a drink.”
Chongxu Taoist also approached and said, “Ye Qiu, I’ll remember your life-saving kindness. If you ever need me, just say the word, and I’ll go through fire and water for you.”
Fairy Hundred Flowers glanced at Ye Qiu with a complex expression, then said softly, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been so impulsive earlier. From now on, I’ll listen to you.”
Hu Zi, full of admiration, said, “Master, you’re incredible. I hit the pillar with all my strength and couldn’t budge it, but you broke the formation so easily.”
Xiao Zhan added, “Boss is mighty… no, brother-in-law is mighty!”
Ye Qiu wanted to say it really wasn’t him who broke the formation, but he knew that, given the situation, no one would believe him even if he told the truth.
“How are your injuries?” Ye Qiu asked.
Master Longbrow touched his forehead and arm, saying, “Just surface wounds, no big deal.”
Chongxu Taoist also said, “Nothing serious.”
Ye Qiu glanced at Fairy Hundred Flowers and said, “Let me heal your injuries first.”
With that, he treated each of them in turn.

“Next, let’s catch those dragon veins!” Master Longbrow said, looking up at the ten dragon veins, their massive eyes staring in their direction. He grinned. “I calculated it. The dragon veins are destined for me.”
“Destined, my foot!” Chongxu Taoist said irritably. “You said it was a sign of great fortune earlier, and then we got trapped in a deadly formation. If it weren’t for Ye Qiu, the three of us would be in grave danger.”
“That was an accident,” Master Longbrow said. “The dragon veins are truly destined for me. Look, they’re staring at me.”
“Staring at you? You think you’re handsome or something? That’s laughable,” Chongxu Taoist said, glancing up. He let out a surprised, “Huh, the dragon veins do seem to be looking at us.”
Master Longbrow scoffed. “Nonsense, they’re clearly looking at me, alright?”
Chongxu Taoist ignored him, staring at the dragon veins with a puzzled expression.
Xiao Zhan suddenly said, “They… they’re not planning to kill us, are they?”
Fairy Hundred Flowers observed closely and said, “There’s no killing intent in the dragon veins’ eyes.”
Lüluo said, “Why do I feel like they’re looking at Young Master Ye?”
Ye Qiu’s heart stirred. He had the same feeling, though his expression remained unchanged.
Master Longbrow asked with a sly smile, “Miss Lüluo, why do you think the dragon veins are looking at Ye Qiu and not me?”
Lüluo said bluntly, “You’re old and ugly. I wouldn’t even look at you, so why would the dragon veins?”
Master Longbrow felt like he’d been hit with a critical blow.
Lüluo then stole a glance at Ye Qiu, muttering softly, “Young Master Ye is so handsome. I like looking at him, so naturally, the dragon veins do too.”
Her voice was quiet, but everyone present was a master and heard her clearly.
Fairy Hundred Flowers glanced at Lüluo, sighing inwardly, “This girl is beyond saving.”
“Ye Qiu, we shouldn’t delay. I think we should catch the dragon veins first,” Chongxu Taoist suggested.
Ye Qiu nodded.
“Not good!” Master Longbrow suddenly exclaimed, his face turning grave.
Instantly, everyone’s hearts tightened.
“You old dog, what did you find?” Chongxu Taoist asked.
“There’s danger,” Master Longbrow said solemnly.
Chongxu Taoist scanned the area but saw no danger. “Where’s the danger?”
“Right ahead. I’ll scout the path,” Master Longbrow said, cautiously moving forward.
After a few dozen metres, he suddenly sped up, his body shooting toward the snow mountain like an arrow.
“Damn, that bastard tricked us!” Chongxu Taoist roared.
Ye Qiu had already seen through Master Longbrow’s intentions but didn’t call him out or follow.
He wanted to see what would happen next.
Ye Qiu was certain the dragon veins wouldn’t be so easy to obtain, as the earlier deadly formation had proven.
Master Longbrow was fast, reaching within a few dozen metres of the snow mountain in a flash. He glanced back, seeing no one following, and chuckled inwardly.
“Those fools actually believed there was danger. Little do they know I was tricking them.”
Master Longbrow looked up at the ten dragon veins atop the snow mountain, unable to hide his excitement. He grinned, “The dragon veins are mine.”
“Once I get them, my cultivation will skyrocket.”
“Then, I’ll first beat up that little rascal, then thrash Old Bullnose until even his mother wouldn’t recognise him.”
“Just you wait…”
Before he could finish, a loud “rumble” echoed.
Suddenly, the towering snow mountain shook violently, as if an avalanche was occurring, with countless snow blocks crashing down.
“Not good!”
Master Longbrow quickly retreated.
He moved fast, but the snow blocks fell just as quickly. Some hit him, and though they caused no serious injury, they left him bruised and battered, his Taoist robe torn, looking utterly dishevelled.
Whoosh!
Master Longbrow used his speed to flash back to Ye Qiu’s side.
“See, I told you there was danger. Now you believe me, right?”
“I nearly lost my life scouting for you.”
Master Longbrow declared, “I don’t care, I’m taking an extra dragon vein later…”
No one paid him any attention.
Everyone was looking at the snow mountain.
No avalanche occurred. After a while, a brilliant golden light suddenly appeared at the peak of the snow mountain!
