“Bang!”
Yao Meng’s body crashed heavily onto the ground, the impact so fierce that certain parts of her nearly split open. Fortunately, there was enough padding.
“Ungh…” Yao Meng groaned.
At that moment, Ye Qiu hovered in the air, looking down at her as he spoke. “I already warned you long ago that you are no match for me.”
Enduring the intense pain, Yao Meng glared at him with hatred and cursed, “As a human, you actually attack me for the sake of a demon. Not only have you betrayed humanity, you are clearly in league with the demon race.”
“People of Green Cloud Sword Sect, don’t you always pride yourselves on being a righteous and upright sect? There is a demon right in front of you. Are you truly going to stand by and do nothing?”
“If you just watch from the sidelines, how are you any different from the demon race?”
Knowing she was no match for Ye Qiu, Yao Meng began questioning the disciples of Green Cloud Sword Sect.
The disciples exchanged glances, finally turning their eyes towards Yun Xi.
They only followed Yun Xi’s orders.
“Yao Meng, Changsheng is right. If demons and humans could live together in harmony, this world would become far more beautiful,” Yun Xi said.
“So Green Cloud Sword Sect has no intention of slaying demons?” Yao Meng snarled. “No wonder this fellow dares to shield demons. It turns out your entire sect shares the same attitude. Good, very good.”
“It seems Green Cloud Sword Sect is also preparing to betray humanity. For such monstrous treason, just wait for your destruction.”
“Ye Changsheng, for colluding with demons, you will come to a bad end.”
“Die, you bitch!” Killing intent flashed in Ye Qiu’s eyes as he threw a punch downward.
Yao Meng hurriedly tried to block, but the force behind Ye Qiu’s fist was far too great. Before her palms could even touch it, she was blasted over a hundred metres away by the wind pressure alone.
“Wah!”
She spat out a mouthful of blood.
Ye Qiu was about to step forward and finish her off when he suddenly saw Yao Meng raise her left palm. A ball of light flickered there, radiating a heart-palpitating power.
“A sacred artefact!”
Ye Qiu paused. The next instant, the light in her palm transformed into a black umbrella.
The umbrella was covered in constantly shifting runes, giving it a mysterious and unfathomable appearance.
Holding the umbrella, Yao Meng looked at Ye Qiu and declared, “Ye Changsheng, you traitor to humanity, sooner or later everyone will hunt you down and kill you.”
Ye Qiu sneered with disdain. “By the time I achieve sainthood, the grass on your grave will be ten zhang tall.”
“A traitor like you will never become a saint. You are about to die right now.” With those words, Yao Meng opened the umbrella and sped away into the distance.
This time her speed was unimaginable, like an aurora.
“That umbrella is a flying sacred artefact!”
Without a word, Ye Qiu stood his ground and hurled several punches in Yao Meng’s direction.
Golden fists blazed like suns, sweeping through all directions with thunderous might. Everyone clearly saw a golden fist strike Yao Meng’s back, sending her plummeting from the sky.
Just as she was about to hit the ground, Yao Meng opened the umbrella again and vanished in a flash.
“Little brat, chase her! Kill her!” Elder Longbrow shouted.
Yet instead of pursuing, Ye Qiu returned to the ground.
“Big Brother, why aren’t you chasing?” Lin Da Niao asked, puzzled.
Ye Qiu replied, “As the art of war says, never pursue a desperate enemy too far.”
“Big Brother, are you worried she’ll go find reinforcements?” Lin Da Niao continued. “Actually, there’s no need to worry. So many geniuses who entered the Undying Mountain this time have already died by your hand. She won’t find anyone worthwhile.”
“I’m not worried about reinforcements,” Ye Qiu said. “Yao Meng means nothing to me. Unless she leaves the mountain now, she will eventually fall by my hand.”
“The reason I’m not chasing is that we still haven’t found the supreme opportunity.”
“The opportunity comes first.”
Elder Longbrow nodded. “The little monster is right. Compared to a supreme opportunity, Yao Meng is less than nothing.”
…
After fleeing far away and confirming Ye Qiu was not pursuing, Yao Meng finally landed.
“Wah!”
The moment her feet touched the ground, she spat out another mouthful of blood, her face turning deathly pale.
Although she had escaped using the sacred artefact, she had taken one of Ye Qiu’s punches to the back while fleeing.
That punch had been devastatingly powerful. It blasted a hole straight through her back and shattered her heart into two halves.
“Ye Changsheng, just you wait. I will kill you sooner or later.”
Yao Meng spat the words through gritted teeth, then sat cross-legged to begin healing. Suddenly, her entire body tensed as she shouted, “Who’s there?”
A figure stepped forward. He wore monastic robes and had a warm, spring-like smile on his face.
Wu Hua!
Yao Meng recognised him instantly. She also noticed Wei Wuji following behind him, but Wei Wuji’s face was expressionless and his eyes vacant, clearly in an abnormal state.
“Amitabha. This humble monk Wu Hua greets Fairy Yao.”
Wu Hua approached, bowed politely, and spoke with refined courtesy.
“What happened to Wei Wuji?” Yao Meng asked directly.
Wu Hua answered, “Fairy Yao may not know this, but Prince Wei fought a great battle against Ye Changsheng and was gravely wounded, nearly dying. At the critical moment, this monk arrived in time and rescued him. However, after his injuries healed, Prince Wei ended up like this.”
“This monk tried treating him, but to no avail. It seems Prince Wei fell victim to some technique of Ye Changsheng’s.”
“That bastard Ye Changsheng again!” Yao Meng cursed furiously.
Hearing her words, Wu Hua looked puzzled. “From Fairy’s tone, it seems you have encountered Ye Changsheng? By the way, how did Fairy end up injured?”
Yao Meng replied angrily, “Who else but that Ye Changsheng? He attacked me over a demon. If I hadn’t fled fast enough, he would have killed me.”
“What?” Wu Hua appeared shocked. “Ye Changsheng shields demons? How dare he be so bold?”
An idea formed in Yao Meng’s mind. “Buddha Son, you may not be aware, but Ye Changsheng has already betrayed humanity. If we do not kill him, he will become a calamity.”
“Buddha Son, for the future of humanity, we absolutely cannot allow Ye Changsheng to side with demons.”
“In my opinion, why don’t we join forces, along with Prince Wei, and eliminate Ye Changsheng together? What do you think?”
Wu Hua nodded. “Fairy speaks wisely. Under no circumstances can humanity ally with demons. Ye Changsheng’s actions are betrayal. He cannot be allowed to live.”
Joy surged in Yao Meng’s heart. “Buddha Son, wait a moment. Once my injuries heal, I will take you to find Ye Changsheng.”
Wu Hua said, “Fairy Yao, time waits for no one. By the time your injuries recover, Ye Changsheng may have already fled. This monk knows a technique that can heal you instantly.”
Yao Meng said gratefully, “Then I must thank Buddha Son.”
“It is a mere trifle. No need for thanks, Fairy.” Wu Hua stepped behind her as he spoke, a sinister smile creeping across his lips.
Immediately afterwards, he used a secret technique and directly turned Yao Meng into a walking corpse, just like Wei Wuji.
“No vigilance at all. What a foolish woman,” Wu Hua sighed, then commanded, “Kneel.”
Plop.
Yao Meng knelt before him, utterly obedient.
“So obedient.” Wu Hua grinned widely. “Call me Daddy~”
