Wuhua saw Ye Qiu’s actions and gave a cold laugh. “Patron Ye, do you really think that will be enough to deal with them? I can only say you still have no idea how terrifying the Corpse-Walking Art truly is.”
Yet in the very next second, the smile on Wuhua’s face froze solid.
After Ye Qiu struck Wei Wuji and Yao Meng with both palms, the two of them instantly stiffened on the spot, as though placed under a binding spell, completely motionless.
“Why have they stopped attacking?”
Wuhua felt something odd. He shouted loudly, “Strike!”
Wei Wuji and Yao Meng, however, remained rooted to the ground, not moving an inch, as if they had not heard his command at all.
“What is going on? Why have they lost control?” A trace of unease rose in Wuhua’s heart.
At that moment, glowing swastika symbols appeared on the bodies of Wei Wuji and Yao Meng.
Wuhua sharply noticed that the places where the swastikas emerged were precisely where Ye Qiu’s palms had landed.
Wuhua was utterly shocked. “Ye Changsheng, you know Buddhist divine abilities?”
“Surprised? Don’t worry, there are even bigger surprises to come.” As Ye Qiu finished speaking, countless runes suddenly materialised around his body.
Each rune was only the size of a coin, yet they shone with brilliant golden light, making Ye Qiu appear like a living Buddha.
The unease in Wuhua’s heart grew heavier.
“The ability Ye Changsheng is using is clearly a Buddhist divine power, so why have I never seen it before?”
While Wuhua reeled in shock, he saw the runes swirling around Ye Qiu suddenly fly outward like two great nets, completely enveloping Yao Meng and Wei Wuji.
“Ah…”
Yao Meng and Wei Wuji threw their heads back and let out agonised screams that sent chills down the spine.
Immediately afterwards, raging flames burst forth on both of their bodies. In the blink of an eye, they were burned to nothing, not even ash remained. They had been utterly annihilated.
“Damn it!”
Wuhua could not help swearing. He had invested a great deal of effort to control Wei Wuji and Yao Meng.
He had even taught them numerous Buddhist techniques, all so they could keep Ye Qiu occupied while he seized the supreme opportunity. Who could have imagined that Yao Meng and Wei Wuji would be completely destroyed?
“Two useless fools. I never should have wasted so much time on them.”
Wuhua’s expression turned dark as he stared icily at Ye Qiu. If looks could kill, Ye Qiu would already have been torn to pieces.
“Ye Changsheng, how do you know Buddhist divine abilities?” Little White Fox asked curiously.
“Want to know?” Ye Qiu smiled. “Beg me.”
I won’t beg you unless you hit me first.
“Forget it if you won’t tell me.” Little White Fox glared at Ye Qiu, cheeks puffed in anger.
“Ye Changsheng, just who exactly are you?” At this point, Wuhua could no longer hold back the question.
He simply could not understand how Ye Qiu knew Buddhist divine abilities, and moreover, the divine abilities Ye Qiu displayed were ones he had never seen before.
One had to realise that Wuhua was the Buddha-son of Great Thunderclap Temple and had mastered countless supreme Buddhist arts. Although some secret Buddhist techniques were still beyond his current cultivation, he had at least seen them all.
The only exception was the divine scripture Ye Qiu was using; Wuhua had never encountered it.
Ye Qiu declared loudly, “I am the one who will kill you.”
Wuhua’s gaze grew even colder, like eternal ice that would never melt. “Ye Changsheng, do not be too arrogant. Even if you killed Wei Wuji and Yao Meng, you cannot kill me.”
“You bald donkey, can you talk less rubbish? You chatter like a bloody woman.” Ye Qiu cursed, then pointed at Wuhua and roared, “Get over here so I can send you into reincarnation.”
Wuhua sneered coldly. “You alone cannot kill me. Call all your friends and everyone from Azure Cloud Sword Sect. Come at me together.”
“Killing you is enough with just me.” Ye Qiu shot back, “You dead bald donkey, you idiot!”
Wuhua’s forehead bulged with throbbing veins from sheer fury.
“This bastard actually called me an idiot. How dare he?”
“I am the Buddha-son of Great Thunderclap Temple!”
“And calling me a bald donkey is bad enough, but why add the word ‘dead’ in front?”
Boom!
Wuhua abruptly unleashed a wave of murderous intent as cold as the grave.
In an instant, the temperature of the world plummeted, as though everything had turned into a frozen wasteland filled with bone-chilling cold.
At the same time, boundless Buddhist radiance erupted from Wuhua’s body. Every eyebrow, every pore, every inch of skin, even his very flesh turned golden and radiant, like an invincible arhat, sacred and untouchable.
Before he had even struck, his overwhelming aura surged forth like a catastrophic flood, roaring with deafening force.
At this moment, Wuhua was bathed in Buddhist light, divine radiance blazing in all directions, his presence reaching a terrifying extreme.
In the distance, Mo Tianji, Lin Big Bird, and the disciples of Azure Cloud Sword Sect all turned gravely serious at the sight.
“Never mind that Wuhua is young; his strength far surpasses ordinary geniuses.”
“Just the aura radiating from him already makes me feel completely powerless.”
“Big Brother has met a true opponent.”
“…”
Ye Qiu’s expression remained calm, but inside he was considerably shaken.
The aura Wuhua now displayed was on a completely different level from An Ruoxi, Tuoba Xiong, and the others. In terms of aura alone, Wuhua could crush them all.
It was clear that Wuhua was far, far stronger than those so-called geniuses.
Yet Ye Qiu felt no fear. On the contrary, intense battle-lust surged within him; his blood raced faster, the instinctive urge to fight a worthy opponent rising uncontrollably.
Nevertheless, Ye Qiu suppressed that impulse.
Under normal circumstances he would have happily fought Wuhua to his heart’s content, but right now the supreme inheritance took priority. To prevent further complications, Ye Qiu decided to end this quickly.
Swish!
Ye Qiu extended his hand, summoned the God-Beating Whip, stepped across the sky, and lashed straight towards Wuhua’s head.
“Die!”
As the God-Beating Whip descended, a streak of white light tore through the void like a divine dragon, its might overwhelming as it plunged downward.
Ye Qiu had absolute confidence in the God-Beating Whip. After all, countless geniuses had already perished beneath it.
Moreover, with his own extraordinary combat strength combined with the whip’s power, even if Wuhua’s cultivation were an entire realm higher, Ye Qiu was certain he could finish him.
Boom!
In the blink of an eye, the God-Beating Whip appeared directly above Wuhua’s head.
Wuhua did not move.
Crack!
The God-Beating Whip struck Wuhua’s skull with a sound like heavenly thunder exploding, deafening and earth-shaking.
Yet Wuhua’s head remained perfectly intact, completely unharmed.
“Hm?” Shock flashed through Ye Qiu’s mind.
What stunned him even more was the next moment, when Wuhua slowly raised his head, looked at Ye Qiu, and smiled. “Ye Changsheng, I told you, you cannot kill me.”
Ye Qiu’s pupils contracted sharply.
“The God-Beating Whip can seal an opponent’s movement. How is he still able to move?”
While Ye Qiu stood shocked, Wuhua brought his palms together and bellowed:
“Great Sun Tathāgata!”
