Everyone’s eyes instantly locked onto the stone slab.
The slab was about three chi long and one chi wide, pitch-black as ink, and gave off an extremely heavy feeling.
“Prince Wu, I knew it. There had to be treasure in this pit, otherwise you wouldn’t have come here.” Long-Brow Daoist smiled.
Wu Qianfan hurriedly denied it. “When I arrived, I had no idea there was a stone slab here. I really just came to heal. Later I felt something odd beneath the ground, dug it up, and found this slab.”
Long-Brow Daoist leaned in close and asked, “Prince Wu, where’s the peerless treasure? Is it under this slab?”
Wu Qianfan shook his head. “I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?” Long-Brow Daoist stared at him, clearly unconvinced.
Wu Qianfan replied, somewhat embarrassed, “To be honest, I was badly injured at the time and didn’t try to move the slab. It’s very heavy.”
“Is that so? Let this poor Daoist give it a try.” Long-Brow Daoist rolled up his sleeves as he spoke.
Inwardly, he was already gloating.
Wu Qianfan, oh Wu Qianfan, once I lift this slab, that peerless treasure will have nothing to do with you.
I should actually thank you.
If you hadn’t ended up in this pit, how could I obtain a peerless treasure?
Long-Brow Daoist bent down, ready to move the slab, when Ye Qiu’s voice suddenly rang out.
“Wait!”
Long-Brow Daoist turned and looked at Ye Qiu warily. “Little brat, what are you doing? You’re not trying to snatch the peerless treasure, are you?”
Ye Qiu said, “Old fellow, I know exactly what you’re thinking.”
“You’ve already gained plenty since entering the Undying Mountain. Don’t get greedy over what’s here.”
“Let Wu Qianfan handle it himself.”
Long-Brow Daoist grew annoyed. “Little brat, am I still your best friend or not?”
Ye Qiu replied, “Precisely because you are my best friend, I have to remind you: greed is fine, but it must be in moderation.”
“Wu Qianfan has had a really rough time on this journey. Let him have whatever is here.”
Long-Brow Daoist pursed his lips and quickly covered his greed. “Who cares about some peerless treasure? This poor Daoist was only trying to help Prince Wu move the slab. Since you put it that way, I won’t bother.”
“Wu Qianfan, you do it.”
With that, he shot Ye Qiu a fierce glare and stepped aside.
Wu Qianfan bent down, gripped the slab, and lifted with all his strength.
It didn’t budge.
He increased his effort and tried again. This time the slab trembled slightly.
“Prince Wu, what’s wrong with you?
Aren’t you a peak Cave Heaven genius? You can’t even move a stone slab?
Are you capable or not?
Long-Brow Daoist mocked from the side.
Wu Qianfan felt humiliated and said, “I’ll try once more.”
He grabbed the slab with both hands, took a deep breath, and roared, “Up!”
All the strength in his body surged into his arms. The slab rose an inch.
“Ahhh!”
With another shout, veins bulging on his neck, he used every last ounce of power and finally lifted the slab.
Boom!
He flung the slab aside.
When everyone looked again, they saw a small hollow beneath the slab containing a wooden chest.
Probably because it was too ancient, the chest was already decayed. With the lightest touch from Wu Qianfan, it crumbled into pieces.
In that instant, an object about ten centimetres tall, shaped like a bottle, appeared before them.
Its surface was covered in a thick layer of green patina.
“There really is a peerless treasure?”
Wu Qianfan grew excited. Ever since entering the Undying Mountain, he had suffered nothing but misfortune, gained nothing, and nearly lost his life.
Could this be the turning point where bad luck turns to good?
Hahaha, my luck has finally arrived!
Heaven, you’ve finally opened your eyes!
So moved he almost cried, Wu Qianfan crouched down and carefully wiped away the rust with both hands, revealing the true appearance of this peerless treasure.
The next second, everyone froze.
“This is… a chamber pot?”
Long-Brow Daoist’s eyes nearly popped out. The shape of this so-called peerless treasure was exactly that of a chamber pot.
He wasn’t the only one bewildered; everyone else was equally puzzled.
Long-Brow Daoist rushed forward, picked up the chamber pot, turned it over and over, and even sniffed it.
“Bloody hell, it reeks of piss!”
His face full of disgust, he quickly handed it to Wu Qianfan. “Prince Wu, you’d better keep this treasure for yourself!”
Wu Qianfan’s expression turned ugly. He never imagined the peerless treasure would turn out to be a chamber pot.
He didn’t reach out to take it.
Long-Brow Daoist smiled. “Prince Wu, actually, this chamber pot has its merits.”
“First, it’s small and portable. Whenever you need to pee, you can whip it out immediately, no risk of holding it in.”
“Second, this poor Daoist noticed it’s rather heavy. In battle, you could catch an enemy off guard and smash their skull with it.”
“All things considered, this chamber pot… is actually pretty decent.”
Wu Qianfan’s face grew even darker. “Daoist Elder, since you like it so much, I’ll gift it to you.”
“No no no,” Long-Brow Daoist waved his hands frantically. “This poor Daoist already has plenty of treasures. I’m not worthy of this one. Prince Wu, you keep it.”
Keep a chamber pot? For what?
To become a laughing stock?
He was a prince of Great Zhou. If he wanted chamber pots, he could have countless ones far more beautiful and refined than this.
Wu Qianfan was furious.
“Prince Wu, I’ll just leave the treasure here.” Seeing Wu Qianfan still refused to take it, Long-Brow Daoist placed the pot on the ground.
Bang!
Without a word, Wu Qianfan kicked it as hard as he could. Whether the pot was too sturdy or something else, his toes exploded with pain the moment his foot connected. He hopped around clutching his foot.
The sight made everyone struggle to hold back laughter.
“Damn it all!” Wu Qianfan cursed loudly. “Which bloody bastard put a stone slab here and carved ‘Peerless Treasure’ on it? This is obviously a deliberate prank!”
Ye Qiu stared at the chamber pot for a couple of seconds, walked over, picked it up, and asked Wu Qianfan, “You really don’t want it?”
Wu Qianfan replied, “This prince wants nothing to do with it. Whoever wants it can take it.”
Ye Qiu turned to Long-Brow Daoist, Mo Tianji, and Lin Da Niao. “Any of you want this thing?”
Long-Brow Daoist and Mo Tianji shook their heads vigorously.
Lin Da Niao grinned. “This chamber pot is too small. It wouldn’t even hold one of my pisses. I don’t want it either.”
Ye Qiu laughed. “Since none of you want it, I’ll reluctantly accept it myself.”
