The eight gigantic pillars stood in eight directions, forming a perfect circle that enclosed Wuji Tianzun and Gu Du Wudi.
Each pillar was covered in dense divine light, unimaginably thick, their tops piercing straight into the vault of heaven.
“What is this?” everyone asked, bewildered.
Yun Shan answered, “This is the Great Emperor Battle Array!”
Great Emperor Battle Array?
The crowd froze, even more puzzled.
Yun Shan explained, “When the Evergreen Great Emperor was still alive, he feared that battles between Great Saints would destroy heaven and earth and harm innocent lives, so he personally carved this array.
Whenever Great Saints fight, the array automatically manifests.
When powerhouses clash inside it, the outside world will not suffer apocalyptic devastation.”
Wu Qianfan said, “So it is the work of the Evergreen Great Emperor. For a moment I thought one of them, either Senior Gu Du or Wuji Tianzun, was actually a Great Emperor.”
Yun Shan replied, “Ever since the Evergreen Great Emperor entered the Undying Mountain and vanished, no new Great Emperor has appeared in the cultivation world.”
Lin Daniiao exclaimed in awe, “This array really is extraordinary.”
“It was crafted by a Great Emperor himself, after all.” Longing filled Yun Shan’s eyes as he thought, “I wonder when I will prove the Dao and become an Emperor?”
At that moment, inside the void, Gu Du Wudi moved.
“Dong!”
A tremendous boom.
Gu Du Wudi took one step forward, his face cold and merciless, like a demon god striding across the myriad realms.
In an instant, terrifying fluctuations erupted from his body. Even within the Great Emperor Battle Array, the surrounding space cracked and shattered.
The air between heaven and earth filled with murderous intent.
“Gu Du Wudi, this seat advises you not to court death.”
As Wuji Tianzun spoke, thick yin-yang qi swirled around him, making him appear as a divine being, towering and majestic.
Gu Du Wudi’s response was simple. He attacked without ceremony.
“Boom!”
At this moment, Gu Du Wudi seemed possessed by a demon. His eyes held no emotion, every strand of his hair writhed like dragons, his killing intent boundless.
Wuji Tianzun’s expression did not change. One hand remained behind his back while he raised the other, extending a single finger and lightly pointing.
“Swish!”
A streak of flowing light burst from his fingertip, transforming into a thousand-zhang war spear that thrust forward.
The spear moved slowly, yet it produced deafening peals of wind and thunder.
In the next instant, ten thousand divine lights appeared around it. Dragons soared, tigers leapt, phoenixes danced through the nine heavens, qilin accompanied, and vermilion birds cried in harmony.
Countless phenomena manifested.
“What is happening?” Lin Daniiao was horrified.
“A single strike from a Great Saint has resonated with the Heavenly Dao,” Yun Shan explained. “This is a forbidden technique that can slaughter all life under heaven.”
Mo Tianji asked, “Senior, can you do that?”
“This technique is extremely powerful and not something just anyone can perform. As for me…” A corner of Yun Shan’s mouth curled upwards. “Of course I can.”
Show-off.
Yet phenomena were merely phenomena. The true killing move was the spear itself.
In a flash, the war spear pierced the void like an invincible divine weapon, arriving instantly before Gu Du Wudi’s forehead.
“Boom!”
Gu Du Wudi’s gaze was ice-cold. He threw a punch that collided with the spear and blocked it.
“Somewhat interesting.”
Wuji Tianzun gave a faint smile. With a casual wave of his hand, the spear shot skyward before chopping down like a battle-axe.
“Clang!”
Gu Du Wudi’s fist smashed into the spear. Sparks flew, and hundreds of void fissures spread far into the distance.
“Pfft!”
Gu Du Wudi threw another punch, shattering the spear. He sneered, “So this is the extent of a Great Saint’s methods.”
Wuji Tianzun showed no anger. On the contrary, deep appreciation shone in his eyes.
“You are merely an ordinary saint, yet you can raise your combat power to Great Saint level. That is no small feat.”
“This seat truly admires you and does not wish to kill you.”
“Why not reconsider? Join our Yin-Yang Sect. I can make you Chief Elder,” Wuji Tianzun urged.
“I have no interest in being any Chief Elder. Right now, the thing I most want to do is kill you.” Gu Du Wudi grinned. “Killing you should feel extremely satisfying!”
“You cannot kill me.” Wuji Tianzun smiled calmly, showing not the slightest fear.
“That is for me to decide. We will only know after trying.”

Gu Du Wudi attacked again, direct and brutal. His fists swung wide, raising raging waves that shook all ten directions.
Wuji Tianzun stood motionless, not bothering to dodge. He simply pushed out a palm, pressing down like a mountain range.

Gu Du Wudi against Wuji Tianzun was utterly terrifying. Outsiders could only see countless phenomena raging inside the Great Emperor Battle Array, the battle fiercely intense.
Gu Du Wudi unleashed the power of the saintly dao, attacking madly, swift as lightning.
Wuji Tianzun kept his left hand behind his back the entire time, using only his right palm.
In the blink of an eye, the two had exchanged over a thousand blows.

Suddenly, Gu Du Wudi threw both fists. Hundreds of enormous fist imprints appeared in the void, capable of annihilating the heavens, all smashing towards Wuji Tianzun at once.
Large expanses of void collapsed, briefly plunging everything into darkness as though the world were being split open anew.
This was a horrifying assault.
Gu Du Wudi intended to use his overwhelming combat strength to slay Wuji Tianzun.
Faced with such a ferocious attack, Wuji Tianzun’s expression remained unchanged. He struck upwards with one palm.
“Suppress!”
With a soft shout, boundless yin-yang qi surged from his palm, pinning every incoming fist imprint motionless in the void.
“Annihilate!”
Another soft shout, and in an instant, all the fist imprints dissolved into nothingness, vanishing without trace.
“Kill!”
Gu Du Wudi roared. His fists poured forth like a storm, blinding divine light erupting.
He pushed his fist technique to its absolute limit and pressed the assault.
Wuji Tianzun’s palm suddenly enlarged, becoming a canopy of the heavens, before slamming downwards.
“Bang!”
Gu Du Wudi was sent flying a hundred li, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
“Not good! Senior Gu Du is injured!”
Ye Qiu’s heart clenched.
Long-browed Zhenren’s face grew grave. “Little brat, things are looking bad.”
At that very moment,
Wuji Tianzun spoke coldly, “Gu Du Wudi, I gave you a chance. Since you refuse to take it, this seat does not mind sending you on your way.”
With those words, Wuji Tianzun stepped forward and instantly appeared before Gu Du Wudi.
Then he struck with a palm.
“Boom!” Light blazed from Gu Du Wudi’s body like a god incarnate. He threw a punch to meet the palm.
Crack!
The next second, Gu Du Wudi was hurled backwards, blood raining across the sky.
