“Boom!”
Elder Niu’s fist was like a colossal star, tearing across the sky, whipping up ferocious currents of air. Everything in its path was reduced to powder.
“Retreat!”
The Fourth Elder and Fifth Elder paled in horror. They did not even pause to repair their physical bodies. Their two primordial spirits swiftly ripped open the void and slipped inside.
At that instant, Elder Niu’s fist smashed into the void rift.
“Ahhh!”
“Ahhh!”
Two piercing screams rang out. The primordial spirits of the Fourth and Fifth Elder were shattered by the fist.
Body perished, dao extinguished.
“With just the two of you daring to try to kill my master, if you don’t die, who will?” Elder Niu finished speaking, then his legs buckled, and he nearly collapsed.
Ye Qiu hurried forward and caught Elder Niu.
He knew this was the after-effect of using the Mighty Divine Fist.
“Can you hold on?” Ye Qiu asked.
“I’m fine,” Elder Niu replied. “As long as I rest for a moment, my stamina will recover.”
Ye Qiu could not help thinking that in future he must find a way to remedy this drawback for Elder Niu.
The Mighty Divine Fist consumed far too much stamina. Elder Niu had only comprehended two strikes so far. After those two, his stamina was almost completely drained. If the two strikes failed to kill the enemy, or if new enemies appeared, the danger would be extreme.
At that moment, winds rose and clouds churned in the sky, thunder roared and lightning flashed, and torrents of blood rain poured down.
When a saint falls, heaven and earth weep.
Ye Qiu supported Elder Niu as they descended to the ground.
The Long-Browed Daoist drew near, excitement written across his face. “Brother Mighty, you were incredible just now. One punch to kill two saints. That record is enough to lord it over any expert of the same realm. Niubi!”
Niubi?
Elder Niu glanced down at his crotch, hastily clamped his legs together, and gave the Long-Browed Daoist a strange look.
He thought to himself, does this Daoist have some unusual fetish?
Terrifying.
Ye Qiu noticed Elder Niu’s expression and explained with a smile, “In the secular world, ‘niubi’ means someone is extremely powerful.”
“Oh, so that’s it!” Elder Niu scratched his head, a little embarrassed.
“You little brat, I have a suggestion,” the Long-Browed Daoist said. “Since the Wuji Heavenly Venerable sent people to ambush us here, let’s give him a surprise in return. Press the advantage, strike while we can, and wipe out a few more cities of the Yin-Yang Sect.”
“I think the Daoist’s suggestion is good,” Elder Niu said. “While the Wuji Heavenly Venerable still doesn’t know what happened here, we can take down a few more city lords.”
Ye Qiu shook his head. “That would not be wise.”
“Mighty has not yet recovered his stamina. A rash attack would only place us in grave danger.”
“I believe we should leave this place at once.”
The Long-Browed Daoist tried to persuade him. “Little brat, I…”
“There is no room for discussion. We leave now.” As Ye Qiu spoke, the Xuanyuan Sword concealed in his left eye vibrated once more.
The third warning.
“We must go now. If we delay any longer, I fear it will be too late.” As Ye Qiu spoke, he helped Elder Niu to his feet, preparing to depart.
At that moment, a cold voice rang out.
“Ye Changsheng, you are not leaving.”
Immediately afterwards, the void split open, and a wild wind blasted forth.
Every strand of wind was blood-red, like peerless blades slicing through the void. In an instant, heaven and earth were saturated with bloodthirsty killing intent.
The stench of blood assaulted the senses.
The next second, a cloud of blood mist appeared.
Within the blood mist stood a figure. His features were indistinct, yet an icy killing aura was unmistakable.
“Thud!” A foot stepped out from the blood mist, shaking heaven and earth.
“Who are you?”
Shock surged in Ye Qiu’s heart.
Though he could not discern the cultivation of the figure within the blood mist, from the sheer momentum of this person emerging from the void rift, he could tell that their cultivation was at the very least that of a saint.
In fact, they were probably even stronger than the two saints Elder Niu had just hammered to death.
Only now did Ye Qiu finally understand why the Xuanyuan Sword had issued three warnings.
The true danger was here.
“Whoosh.”
A fierce wind scattered the blood mist, revealing the newcomer’s true appearance.
His bearing was imposing, clad in chill-iron battle armour that gleamed with dark light, like a divine being.
His face appeared youthful, yet his complexion was paler than paper, as though he had not seen sunlight for ten thousand years.
He was strikingly handsome, his full head of red hair utterly demonic, as if drenched in fresh blood.
His eyes were like black gems, sharp and vivid, yet utterly devoid of emotion.
“This red-haired freak looks anything but ordinary,” the Long-Browed Daoist whispered. “Brother Mighty, what level of cultivation does this red-haired freak have?”
Elder Niu answered gravely, “He is very strong.”
“How strong?” the Long-Browed Daoist pressed. “As strong as you?”
“Stronger than me.” At those words, Ye Qiu and the Long-Browed Daoist felt their hearts sink.
They knew Elder Niu’s strength well. Among ordinary saints, few could surpass him.
If Elder Niu said this red-haired man was stronger, it could only mean his cultivation almost certainly exceeded that of an ordinary saint.
“We’re in serious trouble. Little brat, hurry and think of a way to escape!” The Long-Browed Daoist panicked.
“Abandon any thought of escape. Before me, you have no chance.” The red-haired man hovered in the void, looking down on them as he spoke.
Ye Qiu wasted no more time. He immediately took out all the divine medicines he had gathered in recent days and handed them to Elder Niu.
“Consume them quickly. Restore your stamina,” Ye Qiu said.
The Long-Browed Daoist also understood. In their current predicament, whether they could leave alive depended most on Elder Niu.
He no longer held back, producing three stalks of divine medicine and passing them to Elder Niu. “Brother Mighty, take these too. Restore your stamina fast.”
Elder Niu said nothing. He silently swallowed the divine medicines and began recovering his stamina.
Ye Qiu felt some concern. He feared the red-haired man might interfere and prevent the recovery. To buy time, he spoke to the red-haired man. “Are you from the Yin-Yang Sect?”
“Indeed,” the red-haired man replied. “Allow me to introduce myself. Yin-Yang Sect, Blood Slave.”
The name sounded like that of a servant.
“What is your position in the Yin-Yang Sect?” Ye Qiu asked.
Blood Slave answered, “The sect master is my master.”
A servant, as expected.
Ye Qiu asked again, “Have you been here a long time?”
“Yes,” Blood Slave replied coldly.
Ye Qiu was puzzled. If he had arrived long ago, why reveal himself only now?
“You know I killed Su Wuming?” Ye Qiu asked.
“I saw it with my own eyes,” Blood Slave said.
Ye Qiu continued, “Then you also saw the two elders of your Yin-Yang Sect killed just now?”
“I watched the entire thing,” Blood Slave replied, his voice still devoid of emotion, like a cold machine.
This only deepened Ye Qiu’s confusion. If this man had been present from the start, why had he not stepped in to save Su Wuming or the two elders?
“Do you have any grudge against Su Wuming or those two elders?” Ye Qiu asked.
Blood Slave answered, “None.”
“Then why did you stand by and watch them die without saving them?” Ye Qiu could not help voicing the doubt in his heart.
“Why would I save them?” Blood Slave declared, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “My master gave no such order.”
