General Bai coughed violently, nearly choking in his rage.

Bai Jianjun’s eyes widened: “Mind your own damn business and shut up.”
Ye Qiu’s smile broadened.
“If you were still General Bai’s son, it’d indeed be none of my concern, family matters and all, but now it’s different.”
“You’ve been expelled from the Bai family, you’re no longer one of them, and General Bai is a national hero, a senior I deeply respect, you speaking to him like this isn’t exactly polite, is it?”
“So, apologise to General Bai right now, or I won’t let it slide.”
Bai Jianjun already despised Ye Qiu, and this only fuelled his rage, pointing at him, he roared: “You little punk, who the hell are you to demand an apology? Get lost!”

Ye Qiu’s hand cracked across Bai Jianjun’s face.
Instantly, Bai Jianjun flew backwards, slamming into the ward door with a thunderous *boom*.
He crashed to the floor, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
Never having faced such humiliation, Bai Jianjun scrambled up, drew his sidearm, and aimed it at Ye Qiu, cursing:
“You little bastard, you dare hit me? I’ll kill you!”
He moved to fire.
“Stop!” General Bai bellowed.
“General Bai, don’t stop him, let him shoot.” Ye Qiu smiled at Bai Jianjun: “Go ahead, shoot, aim for my head or heart, I promise I won’t fight back.”
“You want to die? I’ll grant your wish…”
“Father, don’t shoot!” Bai Yujing interjected urgently: “Ye Qiu’s a first-class merit holder, if you fire at him, he’d have the right to execute you on the spot.”
“And with his skills, you wouldn’t even get the chance to kill him.”
At that, cold sweat broke out on Bai Jianjun’s forehead.
“Bai Jianjun, if you’re a man, don’t hesitate, shoot, otherwise you’re a coward,” Ye Qiu taunted.
“Hmph, you sly dog, I’m not falling for it.” Bai Jianjun holstered his gun.
