Charm Dance Bar.
The crowd hadn’t dispersed.
Ye Qiu had singled out Gao Fei to stay, clearly planning to deal with him.
So they stuck around, curious how Ye Qiu would handle it.
Gao Fei, already terrified by Ye Qiu’s methods, was sprawled on the floor, clutching a table leg for dear life.
“Come here,” Ye Qiu beckoned.
Gao Fei gripped the table tighter, shaking his head, refusing to budge.
Ye Qiu ordered, “Yu Yi, bring him over.”
“Yes!”
Yu Yi strode over, grabbed Gao Fei’s collar like an eagle snatching a chick, and tossed him at Ye Qiu’s feet.
“Gao Fei, do you know who I am?” Ye Qiu asked.
Gao Fei shook his head, “N-no…”
“I’m Ye Qiu. Qian Shiyu’s my cousin.”
Qian Shiyu’s cousin?
Gao Fei froze. Since when did Qian Shiyu have a cousin? He’d never heard of it.
Then it hit him.
Cao Chunmei had mentioned that Old Man Qian had a younger daughter, kicked out over twenty years ago for having an illegitimate kid.
He stared at Ye Qiu, shocked, “Are you that bas—”
Slap!
Before he could finish, Qian Duoduo’s hand cracked across his face.
“You scum, ditching your wife and kid to climb higher? I’ll end you!”
Qian Duoduo unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks.
Ye Qiu watched coldly, unbothered. A creep like Gao Fei deserved it.
After a while, Qian Duoduo, winded, stopped and pointed at Gao Fei, asking Ye Qiu, “Cousin, what do we do with this guy?”
“What do *you* think?” Ye Qiu countered.
“Cousin, a backstabbing, family-ditching jerk like him? I say we bury him,” Qian Duoduo said.
Ye Qiu nodded slightly, “Sounds doable…”
Clunk!
Before he finished, Gao Fei fainted on the floor.
“Faking it, huh, you animal?”
Qian Duoduo kicked him twice, saw no response, and dumped a bottle of red wine over Gao Fei’s face.
Gao Fei’s eyes fluttered open. Seeing Ye Qiu’s icy stare, he shivered, dropped to his knees, and begged.
“Mr. Ye, I’m sorry, please, give me a chance!”
“It’s my fault, I wronged Shiyu and the kid. I’ll apologize to her.”
“I’ll beg her to take me back, I—”
Bam!
Qian Duoduo’s kick sent him sprawling, “You dog, remarry my Shiyu? In your dreams!”
“She fell for you before because she was blind.”
“Forget stepping foot in our Qian family again!”
Gao Fei didn’t really want Shiyu back—he was stalling, hoping to dodge this mess.
He slapped himself a dozen times, “Mr. Ye, I was wrong, truly wrong.”
“Please, let me live.”
“I’ll do anything if you spare me.”
He kept kowtowing, pleading.
Ye Qiu’s face stayed blank. Honestly, he half-wanted to kill the guy.
But Gao Fei, though divorced from Qian Shiyu, had a daughter with her. Killing him would leave the girl fatherless.
What to do?
Ye Qiu paused, then said to Qian Duoduo, “Give me your phone.”
Qian Duoduo blinked, “For what?”
“To call Shiyu.”
“Now? What for? Cousin, you’re not asking her opinion, are you? I say skip the call and bury this creep.”
Ye Qiu’s face hardened, “Enough talk, hand it over.”
Qian Duoduo passed the phone.
Ye Qiu stepped aside, dialed Qian Shiyu, spoke briefly, and returned, his expression colder.
Gao Fei was still begging, “Mr. Ye, please, don’t kill me, don’t kill me…”
Slap!
Ye Qiu’s slap sent him flying, “Animal!”
“What’s up, cousin?” Qian Duoduo asked, seeing Ye Qiu’s fury.
Ye Qiu said, “This bastard, to force Shiyu to divorce, brought that woman home, did *that* in front of their kid.”
“After she agreed to split, he forced her out with nothing. Didn’t pay a cent for the kid.”
“Even kicked her and the girl out in the middle of the night.”
Qian Duoduo’s rage exploded. He lunged to beat Gao Fei, but a wine bottle smashed Gao Fei’s head first.
Lin Jingzhi had struck.
Qian Duoduo paused, surprised. Who knew Lin Jingzhi had this side?
“Scum like him doesn’t deserve to be human,” Lin Jingzhi fumed.
“You’re right, sis-in-law. Cousin, let’s kill him. I’ll do it,” Qian Duoduo grabbed a broken bottle, murder in his eyes.
“Stop!”
Ye Qiu’s sharp command halted him, then he turned to Yu Yi, “I’m handing him to you. Two conditions.”
“First, I don’t care how, but all his assets go to Shiyu’s name.”
“Second, get him out of Suzhou.”
Yu Yi bowed, “Mr. Ye, consider it done!”
Ye Qiu waved him off.
Yu Yi hoisted Gao Fei and left with the Green Wolf crew.
The bar settled back to normal.
“Cousin, why let him go?” Qian Duoduo was still pissed.
Ye Qiu sighed, “Shiyu said to spare him.”
“Shiyu’s too soft, or she wouldn’t have been burned by this trash,” Qian Duoduo cursed. “Thinking of what he did, I wanna kill him.”
“Let it go. He’s gone from Suzhou for good,” Ye Qiu said.
Qian Duoduo gave Lin Jingzhi a thumbs-up, “Sis-in-law, smashing his head with a bottle? Total badass.”
Ye Qiu smirked, “That’s nothing. Lin sis shot Xiao Qingdi’s leg off.”
What?
Qian Duoduo’s eyes popped, staring at Lin Jingzhi.
“No big deal,” Lin Jingzhi smiled, looping her arm through Ye Qiu’s, “Shall we head back?”
“Yeah.”
Ye Qiu nodded. After tonight’s chaos, drinking here lost its appeal.
The trio left the bar.
Back at the Qian estate, Ye Qiu’s phone rang—Zhang Jiuling.
“Ye Qiu, the duel’s set!”
“Next month, the ninth, lunar August fifteenth. You and Korea’s Medical Saint Li Zhengxi, a fight to the death at Nanjing’s Confucius Temple!”
