The third match officially began.
Li Zhengxi randomly selected one of the two female patients, then had Li Minghan bring a chair onto the stage.
“Please sit.”
Li Zhengxi helped the female patient sit down on the chair.
“Host, start the timer.”
After speaking, Li Zhengxi opened his medical kit and took out a silver needle.
After sterilising it, Li Zhengxi inserted the needle into an acupuncture point near the female patient’s left ear, then, using his right index finger and thumb, slowly pushed the needle in.
Five minutes passed.
Only then did Li Zhengxi finish inserting the first needle.
Next, he moved to the patient’s side and inserted a second needle into an acupuncture point near her right ear.
This also took five minutes to complete.
Inserting the two needles took ten minutes in total.
Afterwards, Li Zhengxi inserted four more needles into the back of the patient’s head, taking twenty minutes.
With six needles inserted, Li Zhengxi began massaging the patient’s head with both hands.
Time ticked by, second by second.
In the blink of an eye, Li Zhengxi had been treating her for fifty minutes.
The audience below grew somewhat impatient.
“Why is it taking so long?”
“Is he even capable?”
“If he can’t do it, just admit defeat already.”
“Today’s match is so dull.”
Everyone felt a bit bored.
Many in the audience had come after watching yesterday’s match, expecting today’s to be even more exciting. But Li Zhengxi had been busy on stage for nearly an hour with no sign of finishing, so they were quite frustrated.
Some even suspected Li Zhengxi couldn’t cure the patient at all.
“Li Zhengxi, just admit defeat already.”
“Stop embarrassing yourself.”
“If congenital deaf-muteness could be easily cured, why would the country run so many special schools?”
The audience’s emotions were running high.
At that moment, Li Zhengxi on stage suddenly stopped and said, “Ye Qiu, I have a request.”
“Go ahead.”
“If I win this round, I request two more matches.”
Ye Qiu instantly understood Li Zhengxi’s intention.
The old man had already lost two rounds and wanted to turn the tide with this one, then settle the score with a best-of-five.
Li Zhengxi said, “Ye Qiu, if you don’t agree to my request, I’ll return to Korea right now.”
Ye Qiu replied readily, “I agree.”
Hearing this, Li Zhengxi’s heart leapt with joy.
Ye Qiu added, “But if you lose this round, you must honour your promise and take your own life in public.”
“I won’t lose this round.”
Li Zhengxi’s face radiated immense confidence. After speaking, he took a black pill from his medical kit and had the patient swallow it with water.
About ten minutes later, Li Zhengxi said to the patient, “Try speaking.”
The patient looked at Li Zhengxi, hesitated, then opened her mouth, “Doc, doctor…”
Instantly, the entire audience was stunned.
“Damn, he actually cured a deaf-mute!”
“Amazing!”
“Worth of Korea’s Medical Sage, he’s got real skill!”
Zhang Jiuling said gravely, “Li Zhengxi’s treatment was successful. This isn’t good for Little Ye. He might actually turn the tables with this match.”
Li Chunfeng said worriedly, “Does Little Ye still have a chance in this round?”
“Slim chance,” Nie Xueliang said. “Li Zhengxi specialises in treating deaf-muteness, and he did it in just over an hour. It’ll be hard for Little Ye to win this round.”
Qin Gang glanced at Ye Qiu on stage, noting his calm expression, and said, “No need to worry, you three. I have faith in Ye Qiu. I believe he’ll create a miracle.”
On stage, a flicker of surprise crossed Ye Qiu’s eyes. He thought, Li Zhengxi does have some skill.
As everyone knew, congenital deaf-mutes typically couldn’t hear or speak for their entire lives, yet Li Zhengxi had cured one in just over an hour.
This showed Li Zhengxi’s medical skills were indeed impressive.
Ye Qiu sighed inwardly, pity, this old man practises Korean medicine and looks down on Chinese medicine. Otherwise, I might’ve shown him some respect.
As for now…
Prepare to be crushed by Chinese medicine!
Seeing Li Zhengxi cure the deaf-mute, Li Minghan smirked smugly, “Ye Qiu, you’ve lost.”
Ye Qiu countered, “I haven’t even treated my patient. How do you know I’ve lost?”
Li Minghan said arrogantly, “My father is Korea’s Medical Sage. His specialty is treating deaf-muteness.”
“You’ve seen the results.”
“You have no chance of winning this round.”
“I suggest you admit defeat now to avoid embarrassing yourself in front of the audience later.”
Ye Qiu mocked Li Minghan without holding back, “Honestly, I admire you a bit. On the path of naivety, you’re truly relentless.”
Bastard, who’s naive?
Li Minghan glared, about to retort, when Li Zhengxi said, “Ye Qiu, it’s your turn.”
“You can choose to treat the patient or not.”
“If you choose not to treat…”
Before Li Zhengxi could finish, Ye Qiu said, “Of course I’ll treat the patient.”
“I’m a doctor. Healing and saving lives is my duty.”
“Mr. Li, although you successfully treated your patient, that doesn’t mean you’ve won.”
“Let me tell you, what Korean medicine can do, Chinese medicine can do too, and Chinese medicine will do it better.”
After speaking, Ye Qiu took out golden needles, sterilised them, and inserted three into the head of the other female patient.
Then, he flicked his fingers.
“Buzz!”
The three golden needles vibrated simultaneously, a golden stream of energy flowing between them.
At the same time, Ye Qiu quietly drew a talisman.
Five minutes later, Ye Qiu waved his right hand, swiftly retrieving the three golden needles like lightning.
Then, smiling at the patient, Ye Qiu said, “Madam, I’ve cured your illness.”
“You’re now a normal person.”
“Go ahead and say hello to everyone!”
What, cured so quickly?
Not only did Li Zhengxi not believe it, but the audience also found it hard to believe.
“Is Dr. Ye lying?”
“From start to finish, it only took five minutes.”
“Five minutes to cure a deaf-mute? Who’d believe that?”
“Dr. Ye’s boasting too much…”
Li Zhengxi laughed, “Ye Qiu, just admit defeat!”
“In all my years of practising medicine, I’ve never seen a doctor cure a deaf-mute in a few minutes.”
“Lying like this in front of so many people, your own compatriots, aren’t you afraid of breaking their hearts…”
Before he finished, a timid voice suddenly rang out on stage, “Hello, everyone!”
Instantly, Li Zhengxi’s face changed dramatically, as if he’d seen a ghost.
