At this, Ye Qiu immediately looked to Ye Wudi for answers.

“If I had fought to the death, that talisman could only have injured me.”

“Enough, stop acting like some innocent man in front of me.” Seeing Ye Qiu’s reaction, Dragon Lady sneered, pointing at Qiushan Nange and Qianshan Xue, “Those two are your women, aren’t they?”

Shadow’s complexion regained some colour, and he could speak, smiling, “Ye Qiu, well done.”
Ye Qiu apologised, “Senior, I’m sorry, I dragged you into this.”
Shadow smiled faintly, “Ye Qiu, no need to blame yourself.”
“Miyamoto Musashi cultivated nine true energies, I’m lucky to still be alive.”
“Besides, this setback won’t break me.”
“Wen Wang was imprisoned and wrote the Book of Changes, Confucius faced hardship and authored the Spring and Autumn Annals, Qu Yuan, exiled, composed the Li Sao, Zuoqiu, blind, created the Guoyu, Sunzi, crippled, compiled the Art of War, Lü Buwei, banished to Shu, left the Lüshi Chunqiu.”
“And Sima Qian, castrated, wrote the monumental Records of the Grand Historian, Su Wu herded sheep for nineteen years and returned home, Goujian slept on brushwood and tasted gall, leading three thousand Yue soldiers to conquer Wu.”
“If the ancients faced such setbacks, how can I let this small matter discourage me?”
