Ye Qiu’s heart jolted, and he hurriedly asked Sun Mengjie, “What happened to Sister Lin?”
Sun Mengjie replied, “Miss Lin’s been kidnapped.”
“What?”
A chilling murderous intent radiated from Ye Qiu, startling Bai Bing, who asked nervously, “Do we know who did it?”
“I don’t know. It happened at her home…”
“I’m heading over now.” Ye Qiu hung up before Sun Mengjie could finish, pulling on his clothes as he told Bai Bing, “Sister Lin’s been kidnapped. I’m going to check it out.”
Bai Bing handed him the car keys, saying, “Be careful. Save Jingzhi quickly and let me know as soon as you have news.”
“Got it.”
Ye Qiu rushed out of Bai Bing’s place, reached the underground garage, started the car, and floored the accelerator.
The car shot out like lightning.
Ten minutes later, Ye Qiu arrived at Lin Jingzhi’s home. Sun Mengjie was waiting at the villa’s entrance, visibly anxious.
Ye Qiu got out of the car and immediately asked, “When was Sister Lin kidnapped? Exact time.”
“Half an hour ago,” Sun Mengjie answered.
Seeing Sun Mengjie in a professional suit, clearly not at home when Lin Jingzhi was taken, Ye Qiu asked, “How do you know it was half an hour ago?”
Sun Mengjie opened her phone and showed Ye Qiu a video.
In the footage, Lin Jingzhi returned home from work. As soon as her car stopped in the villa’s courtyard, a dozen masked men rushed in and forcibly took her away.
“I copied this from the villa’s surveillance just now. It shows she was taken half an hour ago,” Sun Mengjie explained.
Watching the video, where Lin Jingzhi was grabbed by several burly masked men and shoved into a car, Ye Qiu’s body surged with overwhelming killing intent.
Sun Mengjie added, “I checked the security room’s footage. The car they used had fake plates.”
“I don’t know why they took her. Ye Qiu… you have to save her quickly. I’m worried she’s in danger…”
“No need to tell me. I know what to do,” Ye Qiu said, his murderous intent unmasked as he growled, “Sister Lin is my woman. Whoever took her, I won’t spare a single one.”
“What now?” Sun Mengjie asked. “Should we call the police?”
“No police. I’ll handle this myself,” Ye Qiu said, quietly drawing a tracking talisman.
At that moment, Sun Mengjie ran back into the villa.
Soon, a wisp of black mist appeared before Ye Qiu’s eyes.
The mist, thinner than a hair, was invisible in the dark to the naked eye, but fortunately, Ye Qiu had the Heavenly Eye.
Muttering a chant, within seconds, the black mist drifted out of the villa.
Ye Qiu prepared to follow it when Sun Mengjie rushed out.
“I’m coming with you to save Miss Lin.”
Sun Mengjie had changed into a leather outfit and boots, looking strikingly cool.
She carried a rectangular case.
With his Heavenly Eye, Ye Qiu saw it contained a sniper rifle.
“Stay here. I’m enough to save Sister Lin,” Ye Qiu said.
Sun Mengjie insisted, “An extra person could help.”
“No need. If even I can’t save her, you’d just be walking into death,” Ye Qiu said, then dashed off.
This time, he didn’t drive.
He followed the tracking talisman, chasing it to the outskirts.
He arrived at an abandoned factory.
The talisman floated inside.
Ye Qiu stared at the factory, a glint of killing intent in his eyes.
…
Inside the factory, Lin Jingzhi was tied to a pillar, the ropes so tight her figure was accentuated, enough to make anyone’s nose bleed.
A young man stood before her, surrounded by a dozen masked, burly men.
“Tch, tch, tch, what a beauty. I can hardly hold myself back,” the young man said, swallowing hard, his eyes roaming over Lin Jingzhi.
“Who are you? Why did you kidnap me?” Lin Jingzhi, no ordinary woman, remained calm despite being surrounded by wolves.
“I’m Huang Ran,” the young man said with a smile.
Huang Ran?
Lin Jingzhi’s almond eyes narrowed. “You’re from the Huang family in Beijing?”
“Oh, you know who I am?” Huang Ran was surprised. “Didn’t expect you to be so sharp.”
“Why kidnap me?” Lin Jingzhi asked again.
Huang Ran said, “Naturally, to have you. Who wouldn’t want a beauty like you?”
Lin Jingzhi didn’t buy it. If this man only wanted her, he wouldn’t have brought her here but to a hotel.
Clearly, he had another motive.
After a moment’s thought, she asked, “You kidnapped me to get to Ye Qiu?”
“Huh?” Huang Ran looked surprised, then laughed, “Not just pretty but clever too, guessing my plan so quickly.”
“Exactly, I’m after Ye Qiu.”
Huang Ran spat venomously, “That bastard Ye Qiu had my hands broken.”
Lin Jingzhi had noticed his bandaged hands and said, “If Ye Qiu had your hands broken, you must have deserved it.”
Huang Ran roared, “Damn it, you dare talk to me like that? Looking to die?”
Far from scared, Lin Jingzhi smiled, “The one looking to die isn’t me, but you.”
“I’m Ye Qiu’s woman.”
“You’ve touched his sore spot. He won’t let you off.”
“Huang Ran, I suggest you release me. I can plead for you with Ye Qiu.”
Huang Ran laughed loudly, “Lin Jingzhi, who do you think you are?”
“Plead for me? What a joke!”
“I’m telling you, Ye Qiu’s a dead man today.”
Huang Ran pointed to the factory’s roof, “I’ve got snipers up there. The moment Ye Qiu steps in, he’s meeting the King of Hell.”
Lin Jingzhi sneered and said no more.
“Why’d you stop talking?” Huang Ran asked.
Lin Jingzhi replied, “I don’t waste words on a dead man.”
“Hmph, soon you’ll see who’s dying here,” Huang Ran ordered his men, “Call Ye Qiu now.”
“Tell him if he wants to save Lin Jingzhi, he has one hour to get here.”
“Alone!”
“Yes,” one of his men pulled out a phone and dialled Ye Qiu.
Five seconds later, “Young Master, Ye Qiu’s phone connected…”
Before he could finish, a phone’s ringtone echoed from outside the factory.
