Rewrite My Youth Chapter 790

In 2006, how should one spend tens of millions in cash?

That’s a good question.

Wen Ying suddenly realised she had become the most cash-rich person in her family, a family that even included her uncle, Deng Shangwei.

Deng Shangwei’s aquatic products business was thriving. Previously, he relied solely on quotas from Qin Xianming. But since starting his crayfish business, he had made a name for himself in Chengdu’s aquatic market. With Chen Li back at the company, the couple divided their roles: Chen Li managed internal affairs, while Deng Shangwei expanded channels. Without Yu Wenhao and others lurking, their business naturally flourished.

From last year to this, Deng Shangwei’s business scale had expanded rapidly, nearly doubling their assets!

Wen Ying once estimated Deng Shangwei’s total assets at around ten million. Now, they had crossed into the twenty-million tier… but he certainly couldn’t produce ten million in cash.

Much of the money Deng Shangwei earned from his aquatic business was reinvested into new ventures with Qin Xianming and Wang Jun.

When Zhao Dong’s amusement park project bid failed, someone else succeeded. Qin Xianming and Wang Jun, quick to act, secured land near the park. The conglomerate planned to invest over a billion in the park. While Qin Xianming and Wang Jun couldn’t match that, they could profit by riding the coattails.

Such ventures, unlike aquatic sales with quick turnover, were suited for long-term holding. Qin Xianming, always loyal, included Deng Shangwei, who trusted him and poured most of his cash flow into it.

So, in total assets, Wen Ying lagged behind Deng Shangwei, but in cash flow, she far outstripped him!

Faced with choosing between buying property to live as a landlady or investing in a career, Wen Ying chose the latter.

She wasn’t sure if her choice was right. For a reborn person, buying property to live off rent was a sure bet, while investing in a career could leave her with nothing. Yet, Wen Ying gave up property for business!

Would she regret it later?

She didn’t know.

For now, she had no regrets, living in the moment, brimming with drive.

Once *Galaxy and You*’s broadcasting rights were sold, Wang Jun was waiting for Wen Ying’s call, knowing she had the money to buy shares!

At Wang Shuang’s eighteenth birthday, Wang Jun gifted his 16% Tianjiao shares to his son. The remaining 4% were meant for Wen Ying, but she refused the gift, insisting on buying them herself and asking Wang Jun to hold them.

The agreement was set, but Wang Jun struggled to price the 4% shares.

Quoting too high was out of the question. Wang Jun wanted to tie Wen Ying to Tianjiao, not profit off her. If he wanted money, he could do any business—why sell Tianjiao shares?

But quoting too low wouldn’t do either, because Wen Ying wasn’t foolish!

Buying Wang Jun’s shares at a rock-bottom price was no different from accepting his gift!

Pricing the shares was tricky for Wang Jun; too high or too low wouldn’t work.

After Wen Ying’s call, Wang Jun thought it over and invited Qin Xianming, Li Zhentao, and Yuan Fenghui to discuss. All four were Tianjiao shareholders. Transferring shares to his son Wang Shuang was fine, but selling shares required notifying the others.

Once Wang Jun sold his 4%, he’d have no direct tie to Tianjiao. The other three understood his reasons, but pricing the shares—

Qin Xianming tapped the table, “I think 4% is too little. Since we’re making Wen Ying a shareholder, how about Zhentao and I each offer some shares, bringing her to 8%? Zhentao, do you agree?”

Qin Xianming’s children were accomplished. Qin Jiao focused on studies, while Qin Yi was already exploring entrepreneurship. Neither needed Wen Ying’s help, and Qin Jiao’s friendship with her was pure.

Qin Xianming’s goodwill towards Wen Ying came from admiration.

Wang Jun and Li Zhentao lacked Qin Xianming’s confidence.

Wang Jun wanted to secure Wen Ying’s friendship for Wang Shuang, and by extension, Xie Qian. Didn’t Li Zhentao want the same?

Wen Ying and Xie Qian positively influenced Wang Shuang and were doing the same for Li Mengjiao.

Moreover, Wen Ying’s creative talent was repeatedly proven by the market. Li Mengjiao needed Wen Ying as a friend and as a screenwriter, as did all of Tianjiao. The more shares Wen Ying held, the stronger her bond with Tianjiao!

8% was significant.

Li Zhentao, the largest shareholder, held 40%.

Qin Xianming was second at 30%.

Wang Shuang third at 16%.

Yuan Fenghui fourth at 10%.

Wang Jun was fifth at 4%.

Once Wang Jun sold his 4%, he’d be off Tianjiao’s shareholder list. Suggesting 8% for Wen Ying was to keep her shares below Yuan Fenghui’s, avoiding any potential resentment.

Yuan Fenghui’s 10% was a condition negotiated when she joined Li Zhentao.

With just a salary, Yuan Fenghui would still excel as Li Mengjiao’s agent, driven by her own ambition.

But holding shares meant working for herself. At Tianjiao, her efforts grew, her goal shifting from elevating Li Mengjiao to elevating Tianjiao itself!

Since joining, Yuan Fenghui proved worthy of her 10%, advancing Li Mengjiao’s career, signing Yun Chen and Zhang Yangning, and launching hits like *The Princess’s New Clothes* and *Galaxy and You*.

Yuan Fenghui’s contributions matched her 10% stake.

Qin Xianming, ever tactful, thought Wen Ying, being young, could start with 8% and increase later, considering Yuan Fenghui’s feelings.

But Yuan Fenghui was more magnanimous than he expected, laughing, “8% is too little. I say 10% or more is fine. I got my shares for free; she’s paying real money. As long as you three are willing to sell and Wen Ying has the money, I won’t object!”

Qin Xianming showed respect, and Yuan Fenghui reciprocated generously.

What did it matter if someone had 2% more or less?

At Tianjiao, Yuan Fenghui’s influence surpassed even Li Zhentao’s, not because of her shares but her irreplaceable ability!

With Yuan Fenghui unconcerned, Qin Xianming had no reservations. He and Li Zhentao disagreed slightly on how many shares to sell, so they left the choice to Wen Ying.

“How many shares do I want to buy?”

Wen Ying’s mind was full of question marks. She didn’t even know how many she could afford!
