“Have you already explained it for me?”
Tawana immediately pressed the other party, “How did you explain it?”
The agent sighed, “I could only say you love this song too much and got too immersed in its storyline. After all, as a professional singer, your performance was quite intense.”
Tawana said calmly, “Actually, I don’t particularly like this song. It’s not even as good as the ones I’ve written myself.”
The agent beside her looked somewhat embarrassed.
When it came to music, Tawana had always been extremely confident.
After all, she was different from Gu Qiuyi. Gu Qiuyi didn’t come from a musical background and couldn’t write songs or compose music, whereas Tawana created nearly all her songs herself.
Singer-songwriters generally didn’t think much of others’ songs, especially someone like Tawana, whose songwriting ability was world-class in the pop music scene.
The agent, knowing her personality, lowered their voice to persuade her, “The explanation we’ve given is the best for you right now. Otherwise, if rumours really start to spread, you’ll become a target of criticism. Don’t forget you have a boyfriend, and in the public’s eyes, your relationship has always been stable.”
Tawana waved her hand, somewhat irritably saying, “I understand, just leave it at that. If there are any further issues, handle it in this direction.”
With that, she asked the agent, “Where are Mr. Ye and Miss Gu?”
“In the dressing room.”
“Alright.”
Tawana had no interest in wasting time with the agent and quickly walked towards the dressing room.
Inside the dressing room, Gu Qiuyi and Ye Chen had already moved past the earlier situation that had left Ye Chen somewhat embarrassed.
Gu Qiuyi, delighted from kissing Ye Chen, didn’t press him further, sparing him more discomfort. Ye Chen, however, was still struggling to adjust his mindset. After all, that passionate kiss had lasted so long and was a first for him.
Tawana knocked on the door, and Gu Qiuyi immediately said, “Come in.”
Tawana then pushed the door open.
Seeing her, Gu Qiuyi smiled and said, “Congratulations, Tawana! Your performance today was flawless! I think this was your best concert yet!”
“Yes!” Tawana said with some excitement, “I feel the same. I’ve never performed as perfectly as I did today, singing every song to the absolute best of my ability!”
As she spoke, she couldn’t help but glance at Ye Chen, who was silent beside her, and said awkwardly, “Mr. Ye, I’m really sorry. On stage today, I got a bit too carried away.”
When Ye Chen had first come off the stage, he’d found the situation quite awkward. But after Gu Qiuyi had put him in an even more embarrassing spot, Tawana’s actions seemed almost trivial in comparison.
So, he said calmly, “It’s fine, I understand. But please don’t do that again at the next performance, or I’ll have to bow out!”
Tawana hadn’t dared to hope that she could kiss Ye Chen through a mask at each of her remaining three concerts in Yanjing. Having done it once was already enough for her. She quickly assured him, “Mr. Ye, don’t worry, it won’t happen again!”
Gu Qiuyi smiled and said, “Tawana, it’s getting late. We need to head back. You should rest well tonight, you’ve got another show tomorrow.”
Tawana nodded and asked, “Qiuyi, do you and Mr. Ye have any plans for the day after tomorrow? It’s a rest day, and I’d love to explore Yanjing, maybe climb the Great Wall or visit the Forbidden City.”
Gu Qiuyi laughed, “If you go to the Great Wall, you’ll probably need at least a few dozen bodyguards. Otherwise, your fans will mob you.”
Tawana asked, “What if I disguise myself?”
