At this moment, four speedboats were racing across the dark sea.
The lights of White Horse Island, like a guiding beacon on the water, drew the speedboats straight towards it.
These masked men in black, heavily armed, bore a striking resemblance to those who had assassinated the An family in New York. They wore uniform clothing, carried uniform equipment, and displayed exceptional discipline. Apart from the drivers, everyone crouched low in the cabins, gripping the handrails with one hand and their assault rifles with the other, eyes fixed ahead.
About one nautical mile from the entrance to White Horse Island’s C-shaped bay, one of the men in black spoke through the radio, “All boats, reduce speed, cut engines!”
The four speedboats immediately throttled down, their speed dropping instantly.
As the engines fell silent, the men retrieved carbon-fibre oars from beneath their feet and began rowing in perfect synchrony on both sides of the boats.
Though rowing was slow, it produced no engine noise, and the sound of the oars gliding through the water was completely masked by the waves.
The island’s patrolling staff heard nothing and saw no lights; the four speedboats approached White Horse Island like ghosts on the sea.
Unbeknownst to the forty men in black, their movements were already known to Ye Chen.
At that moment, Ye Chen sensed that these men were highly trained, possibly even death warriors of the Po Qing Society.
Yet, he found it illogical. If these death warriors were after him, it would mean his identity and whereabouts were exposed. If Wu Feiyan knew who he was, she wouldn’t send mere death warriors to assassinate him; she would dispatch one of the three elders, or even all three.
So, who were these men in black?
As he pondered, the four speedboats silently entered the bay.
During the day, White Horse Island’s boats blocked the entrance, but at night, the visiting vessels had returned to port, and the island’s boats had retreated to the dock.
After the speedboats entered, the leader spoke through the radio, “Tonight, most people on the island are at a party. Our target is likely there. Once we land, our first task is to eliminate all staff near the dock. The second is to surround the seaside bar hosting the party, controlling everyone inside. No one escapes. After neutralising the target, we withdraw on my command. Understood?”
The men in black replied in unison through the radio, “Understood!”
The men were now very close to Ye Chen. They were at the C-shaped entrance, while Ye Chen’s sea villa, commonly called a water house, extended into the water at the bottom of the C via two walkways.
White Horse Island’s public and office areas were mainly in the island’s centre, while the upper part featured tropical rainforest-style beach villas, known as sand houses.
Ye Chen overheard every word of the men’s conversation, astonished to hear them all speaking fluent Chinese.
