Ma Kui asked nervously, “Mr. Ye, if we do this, I’ll be wanted globally. How can I stay safe?”
Ye Chen pointed at Hamid, “From now on, you and your men will join Commander Hamid’s forces. Live incognito in the Middle East and serve him. I’ll arrange for your families to be brought there, so you can reunite.”
Ye Chen had initially considered letting Ma Kui join Wanlong Hall as cannon fodder.
But on second thought, no.
This guy was about to become infamous. Keeping him in Wanlong Hall would risk tarnishing its reputation if word got out.
Hamid, however, was different.
As a rebel leader, anything he did wouldn’t be surprising, let alone taking in a few terrorist mercenaries.
Besides, these men could stir trouble for the current rebel leaders. After tonight, they’d be infamous too, facing immense public pressure. Even if they brazenly refused to explain, their position would be awkward. If Ma Kui joined Hamid’s group, it would make them even more uncomfortable.
Hearing this, Ma Kui was initially resistant.
As a senior Blackwater mercenary, he knew rebels were a ragtag bunch. Joining them was like throwing a lion into a sewer to live with rats.

Hiding in Hamid’s remote stronghold, though, would be safe. No need to live in fear or flee constantly.

Still, he wanted to gain a bit more, so he ventured, “Mr. Ye, could you recommend me to join Wanlong Hall? I heard most of them are of Chinese descent, and I’m half-Chinese. I’d work hard and atone for my sins!”
Ye Chen snapped, “Don’t even dream of it! All of Wanlong Hall is loyal to me alone. How could I let someone like you ruin its reputation?”
Ma Kui flinched, shocked to learn Wanlong Hall belonged to Ye Chen!
He quickly said respectfully, “Mr. Ye, rest assured, I’ll serve Commander Hamid with all my heart!”
Ye Chen nodded, then turned to Bernard Elnor, sighing, “Mr. Elnor, see how much I’m looking out for you? Once this goes public, you’ll be famous worldwide, hailed as a hero. Your family and brand will be wildly celebrated, your social status will soar, and your company’s sales will explode. You’ve hit the jackpot!”
Bernard Elnor saw the logic. Saving dozens of lives was a monumental deed, worthy of books in France and the Maldives.
Plus, among those saved was global superstar Tawana. What a feat! Her fans would practically worship him.
His luxury brand would likely see a sales frenzy, with quotas doubling at least!
At this thought, his lips curled into an irrepressible grin, harder to control than an AK47’s recoil.
Excitedly, he said, “Mr. Ye, your plan is brilliant! I’ll cooperate fully!”
Ye Chen said, “You old fox, already reaping the benefits and acting coy. I saved your life and gave you this huge opportunity. Shouldn’t you show some gratitude?”
