Son Of The Dragon Chapter 5440

Hearing Lingxi’s words, Chen Ping’s face turned even redder.

In truth, being seen by Lingxi while fusing bloodlines with the disciples of the Medicine King Sect was no big deal, as it was merely for cultivation.

But licking Ziyuan’s boots, that was far too humiliating.

Seeing Chen Ping’s face grow redder, Lingxi’s smile became even more radiant.

“You should rest well in the Divine King Palace for now. If you crave a woman’s company, you can have Yunxiu keep you company. She’s still a maiden, you know.”

Lingxi said to Chen Ping.

Upon hearing this, Yunxiu’s face instantly flushed. She lowered her head slightly, but stole a quick glance at Chen Ping.

Clearly, Yunxiu must have secretly witnessed Chen Ping’s bravery as well.

“No need. The people in the Sixth Heaven are still waiting for me. I can’t abandon them.”

Chen Ping shook his head, determined to leave.

“In your current state, forget about helping them. You wouldn’t even survive the void passage.”

“Rest properly. Once you’ve recovered, if you can withstand one strike of my sword, I’ll agree to visit the Sixth Heaven with you.”

Lingxi said.

Hearing this, Chen Ping nodded in agreement and stayed in the Divine King Palace to recover.

The Jingchen Pavilion of the Divine King Palace was filled with spiritual energy so dense it almost took physical form. The floor was paved with cold jade marrow that nourished the soul, and dragon saliva incense, which calmed the mind, burned in the corners.

Chen Ping sat cross-legged on a jade bed. The healing pills sent by Lingxi transformed into a steady stream of spiritual energy, flowing gently through his damaged meridians. Combined with the pure spiritual energy of the Eighth Heaven, his injuries healed at a visible rate.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

As the first rays of morning light streamed through the pavilion’s window and fell upon Chen Ping, he suddenly opened his eyes. A flash of golden dragon patterns flickered in his pupils.

His meridians were fully restored, the power of his dragon clan bloodline even more refined. His cultivation not only returned to the second rank of the Earth Immortal Realm but showed faint signs of breaking through to the third rank.

He stood, grasping the Dragon-Slaying Sword beside him. Golden light flowed across the blade, perfectly resonating with his aura.

“Not bad recovery speed.”

Lingxi’s voice suddenly sounded at the door. She was still dressed in a light cyan palace robe, casually holding a green twig in her hand, her eyes carrying a hint of playfulness.

Yunxiu stood behind her, a glimmer of joy flashing in her eyes upon seeing Chen Ping fully recovered.

Chen Ping tightened his grip on the Dragon-Slaying Sword and bowed to Lingxi. “Many thanks to the Fourth Palace Master for the healing resources. I’m ready.”

Lingxi chuckled softly and walked leisurely to an open area in the Jingchen Pavilion. “Make your move. Remember, if your sword can touch me, you win.”

With that, she held the twig horizontally before her, her stance casual yet exuding an indescribable pressure.

Chen Ping took a deep breath, channeling all his spiritual energy into the Dragon-Slaying Sword. A three-foot-long golden sword aura surged instantly. “Fourth Palace Master, be careful!”

Before his words faded, he flashed forward like an arrow released from a bow, the Dragon-Slaying Sword slashing toward her shoulder with a piercing whistle.

The strike was as fast as lightning, condensing all his current strength and speed. Yet Lingxi merely sidestepped lightly, her twig tapping the sword’s blade.

A soft “ding” rang out. Chen Ping felt a gentle yet overpowering force surge through him, numbing his arm. The Dragon-Slaying Sword nearly slipped from his grasp.

He retreated several steps, heart filled with shock. Lingxi’s speed was so fast he couldn’t even track her movements.

Before he could steady himself, Chen Ping attacked again. His sword techniques shifted unpredictably, sometimes sweeping like a dragon’s tail, other times striking like a viper aiming for vital points.

Yet no matter how fierce his swordplay, Lingxi effortlessly countered with her twig. Her figure was like willow fluff in the wind, always maintaining a hair’s breadth distance, his sword unable to even graze her sleeve.

“Too slow, too scattered.”

Lingxi’s voice carried a faint tone of guidance as she flicked her twig, once again deflecting the Dragon-Slaying Sword. “You’re still not fully unleashing the power of your dragon clan bloodline.”
