Chen Ping could not help but roll his eyes at Hu Mazi upon hearing this.
Soon, under the forceful hands of the two black-clad cultivators, the woman’s clothes were stripped completely clean.
Hu Mazi’s eyes gleamed with excitement, drool even dribbling from his mouth.
“Hu Master, is it time now?” Chen Ping asked.
Hu Mazi nodded.
“Stop right there! In broad daylight, you dare to seize a woman by force; have you no regard for the law?”
Hu Mazi bellowed, leaping forward to position himself in front of the woman.
Though his frame was not particularly imposing, in this moment, he appeared exceedingly heroic.
However, as he shielded the woman, Hu Mazi’s eyes could not resist stealing glances at her body from time to time.
The woman, seeing someone come to her rescue, immediately let out a sigh of relief and hurriedly picked up her clothes to put them on.
But the garments were all torn to shreds, allowing her only to barely cover her private areas.
The two black-clad cultivators were startled by Hu Mazi’s sudden appearance, but upon realising he was merely at the first level of the Human Immortal realm, disdain immediately crossed their faces.
“Where did this wild cultivator come from, daring to meddle in our affairs?”
One of the cultivators sneered.
His gaze was filled with contempt, as if Hu Mazi were nothing more than an insignificant ant in his eyes.
“Old fool, I advise you to know your place and scram at once, or we’ll deal with you too!”
The other cultivator threatened.
His voice was savage, spiritual energy beginning to flicker faintly in his hand, as if he might strike at any moment.
Yet Hu Mazi showed no fear whatsoever, puffing out his chest as he declared, “Let me tell you, I’m getting involved in this today! Release this young lady at once, or don’t blame me for being rude!”
As he spoke, he drew several talismans from his bosom, adopting a stance ready for battle.
Though his cultivation was inferior to theirs, with Chen Ping nearby, he felt secure in his boldness.
These talismans had been painstakingly drawn by him, consuming no small amount of resources; he was usually loath to use them, but today, for the sake of saving this woman, he could not afford to be stingy.
At the sight, the two black-clad cultivators burst into hearty laughter.
“You? A mere first-level Human Immortal cultivator, daring to act so arrogantly before us?”
One of the black-clad cultivators guffawed.
The woman, upon seeing that Hu Mazi was only at the first level of the Human Immortal realm, lower even than her own cultivation, felt her recently eased nerves tighten once more.
“Old gentleman, thank you for stepping in to save me; you are no match for them, so you should leave.”
The woman said to Hu Mazi.
“Fellow female cultivator, I am a prized disciple of Celestial Master Zhang from the Celestial Master Sect, which is affiliated with the Heavenly Talisman Sect.”
“Everyone who sees me must address me as Hu Master; how can you call me old gentleman?”
Hu Mazi was somewhat displeased.
If this woman called him old gentleman, it surely meant she looked down on him; in that case, even if he saved her, she might not let him have his way.
Upon hearing this, the woman quickly corrected herself, “Hu Master, I am truly sorry; I had no idea you had such a distinguished background!”
“No matter, you stay to the side and watch; wait until I cripple these two fellows!”
Hu Mazi said with utmost confidence.
“You doddering corpse, I see you’ve grown weary of living!”
One of the black-clad cultivators, losing patience, swung a fist towards Hu Mazi.
That punch carried a whistling wind, clearly infused with considerable power.
Wherever the fist wind passed, grains of sand were swept up, forming a small vortex.
Hu Mazi dared not take it head-on and hastily dodged to the side.
Though his cultivation was not high, his movement techniques were quite agile.
He darted about like a nimble monkey, evading the opponent’s attacks amid the gale.
“Chen Ping, what are you standing there for? Come and help!”
Hu Mazi shouted towards Chen Ping while dodging.
There was a trace of urgency in his voice, for he knew full well he was no match for these two black-clad cultivators.
