Xue Wuying’s expression changed. He had not expected Chen Ping to block his attack so effortlessly.
But he did not retreat. Instead, he continued to cast spells, firing beams of blood-red arrows from his hands towards Chen Ping.
Chen Ping wielded the Dragon Slaying Sword, weaving through the blood-red arrows with ease. His swordsmanship was fiercely sharp, each strike carrying immense power that severed the blood-red arrows one after another.
“Xue Wuying, your attacks are useless against me!”
Chen Ping said coldly. Then, with a flash of his figure, he charged towards Xue Wuying.
The Dragon Slaying Sword in his hand thrust out like lightning, aiming straight for Xue Wuying’s throat.
Xue Wuying reacted swiftly. He dodged to the side while forming a fist with his right hand and smashing it towards Chen Ping’s chest.
Immortal energy swirled around the fist, radiating tremendous power, as if it could shatter an entire mountain peak.
Chen Ping hurriedly withdrew the Dragon Slaying Sword and held it horizontally in front of him to block.
With a dull “thud”, Xue Wuying’s fist slammed heavily onto the Dragon Slaying Sword. A massive force travelled along the blade, numbing Chen Ping’s arm.
But he did not back down. Instead, he used the momentum to flip backwards, creating some distance between himself and Xue Wuying.
“I did not expect you to have some skill, but it is still not enough!”
Xue Wuying said coldly. His hands moved rapidly, sending blood-red runes flying from them to form a massive blood-red array in the air.
In an instant, the space around Chen Ping and Hu Mazi annihilated. At the same time, countless blood-red chains appeared surrounding the two.
This sudden change startled both Chen Ping and Hu Mazi. Chen Ping’s brows furrowed.
“Chen Ping, I seem unable to sense the space around us. My divine sense cannot extend out.”
Hu Mazi said, his face grim.
Chen Ping also scanned the surroundings constantly, his expression grave as he said, “The same for me. It feels as though we have suddenly fallen into an endless void.”
The space around Chen Ping and Hu Mazi grew increasingly illusory. At that moment, the two even began to question whether they were still alive.
The red chains in particular resembled shackles from the eighteenth level of hell.
Hu Mazi felt so oppressed that he could hardly breathe. Thus, he waved his palm, sending a talisman flying out before it exploded with a boom.

In an instant, the surrounding space rippled violently.
But after the ripples subsided, calm returned. Hu Mazi’s talisman vanished like a stone into the sea, while the red chains remained utterly still.
These red chains were like a cage, enclosing Chen Ping and Hu Mazi completely.
“Hahaha, if I had no way to subdue you, why would I sit here waiting for you to take the bait?”
Xue Wuying’s voice echoed from all directions.
“Chen Ping, what do we do?”
Hu Mazi asked, a hint of panic in his voice.
Chen Ping said nothing but desperately observed his surroundings.
He knew this must be an array formation, certainly not a shift to another void. Arrays were something Chen Ping could usually break with ease, yet now he found no clues at all, not even able to spot the formation’s core.
As Chen Ping observed frantically, the blood-red chains suddenly began to weave about, sending waves of immense force surging towards Chen Ping and Hu Mazi.
Hu Mazi’s face paled dramatically. He hurriedly ducked behind Chen Ping.
“Chen Ping, what now?”
Hu Mazi felt utterly helpless at this point!
“Do not fear…”
Chen Ping drew the Dragon Slaying Sword and slashed towards the red chains.
Boom!
One of the red chains in front of Chen Ping snapped instantly. Seeing this, Hu Mazi’s expression eased a little.
But before Hu Mazi could fully relax, the severed red chain reconnected on its own. At the same time, the red chains vibrated incessantly, causing the entire space to tremble along with them.
