Zhao Hu steadied himself, widened his eyes at Chen Ping, his face full of shock.
Chen Ping smiled faintly and said, “My name is Chen Ping, the Lin family’s son-in-law.”
At that moment, Qian Wan’guan and Sun Ba also crowded around. They sized up Chen Ping and saw that he was only at the sixth rank of the Earth Immortal realm. They immediately burst into mocking laughter.
“Hahaha, a mere sixth-rank Earth Immortal like you dares to show off here? You truly have a death wish!”
Qian Wan’guan laughed so hard he doubled over.
Sun Ba joined in the mockery, “Kid, if you’re smart, get lost now. Don’t embarrass yourself here, or you won’t even know how you die later!”
“Lin Family Head, you wouldn’t sacrifice your daughter just to have this sixth-rank Earth Immortal kid help your Lin family, would you?”
Zhao Hu laughed heartily.
Chen Ping, however, remained unperturbed. He glanced indifferently at the three and said, “The Zhao, Qian, and Sun families will not survive this night.”
As soon as these words were spoken, the hall fell silent for a moment, then erupted in uproarious laughter.
“Hahaha, has this kid gone mad? With his sixth-rank Earth Immortal strength, he thinks he can make our three families not survive the night? What a colossal joke!”
Zhao Hu laughed until tears came to his eyes.
“Exactly, he doesn’t even know what he is, yet he dares to spout such nonsense. Wait and see how we deal with you later!” Qian Wan’guan said viciously.
Sun Ba had a look of utter contempt. He waved his hand and said, “Enough, no more talk with this kid. Lin Family Head, if you don’t give our three families a satisfactory explanation today, this assembly won’t proceed smoothly!”
Seeing the situation develop to this point, the Lin Family Head grew anxious in his heart. He knew Chen Ping’s strength well but also worried that Chen Ping might act impulsively due to the mockery from the three families.
He was just about to speak to persuade Chen Ping when he saw Chen Ping nod at him, signalling not to worry.
“Since you don’t believe me, then wait and see. However, I advise you to leave now, go back and arrange your affairs properly, otherwise you won’t have the chance later.”
Chen Ping said coldly.
Hearing this, the heads of the Zhao, Qian, and Sun families grew even angrier. They all clamoured to teach Chen Ping a lesson.
At that moment, the Lin Family Head stepped forward. He said loudly, “Everyone, today’s matter ends here. The election for the county princess position, we shall discuss another day. Please return for now.”
Zhao Hu, however, would not let it go. He pointed at the Lin Family Head’s nose and cursed, “Lin Family Head, you must give our three families an explanation today, or we will not let this rest!”
Chen Ping frowned. He was just about to strike again when the Lin Family Head stopped him.
The Lin Family Head gave him a look, then said to Zhao Hu, “Brother Zhao, today’s matter is due to my Lin family’s oversight. Another day, my Lin family will visit to apologise. As for the election of the county princess position, let us discuss it at length. How about that?”
Seeing the Lin Family Head yield, and with Chen Ping glaring menacingly at the side, Zhao Hu felt unwilling but knew that continuing the commotion would bring no benefit to him.
He snorted coldly and said, “Fine, we’ll give your Lin family a few days. If you still can’t come up with a scheme that satisfies us, there will be no place for your Lin family in Dongxiang County!”
With that, Zhao Hu led Qian Wan’guan and Sun Ba, along with the people from the Zhao, Qian, and Sun families, away from the Lin residence hall in a huff.

Chen Ping smiled faintly and said, “Lin Family Head, no need to be polite. Since I have had intimate relations with your daughter, the Lin family’s matters are my matters.
However, those Zhao, Qian, and Sun families probably won’t let the Lin family control Dongxiang County.”
