“Kid, use your blood!” Red Cloud Demon Lord suddenly shouted. “Your golden dragon bloodline is the sovereign of all dragons. It naturally suppresses this tower that was built specifically to imprison the dragon clan! Use your blood as a catalyst and force a resonance!”
Without hesitation, Chen Ping sliced his palm with the Dragon-Slaying Sword. Golden blood carrying the pure essence of the golden dragon source splashed onto the restrictive light curtain!
Sizzle!
The moment the blood touched the curtain, it boiled like cold water dropped into hot oil!
The runes on the curtain instantly dimmed as though they had met their nemesis. The once-solid barrier turned unstable, rippling like water.
“Now! Strike together! Break it!”
Chen Ping roared. The three of them unleashed their strongest attacks once more, focusing everything on the area soaked with his blood!
Crack!
The sound of glass shattering rang out! A huge hole was finally blasted through the fifth-floor restriction!
“Go!”
Chen Ping charged in first.
Cen Biqing and Old Black followed close behind.
The fifth floor was not a simple hall. It was a constantly shifting, multi-layered spatial labyrinth!
Countless mirror-smooth walls rose, moved, vanished, and reappeared, reflecting infinite images of the three intruders. The sight was dizzying, making it impossible to tell direction.
Distorted light and chaotic spatial fluctuations filled the air.
“Heehee, heehee… You came back? And you even brought two helpers?”
A child-like voice echoed from every direction, its source impossible to pinpoint.
“Coward who hides his head and shows only his tail, get out here!”
Old Black roared and punched a wall.
Boom!
The wall shattered, yet new ones instantly formed behind it, as if they were endless.
“It’s useless, Old Black.”
Chen Ping swept the area with his Heavenly Eye, trying to see through the labyrinth’s pattern, but the spatial laws woven into it were extremely profound. He could not unravel them quickly.
“This is this great one’s home turf! Just play here slowly until you die!”
The voice was full of mockery.
Suddenly, countless twisted rays of light shot from every mirror wall. These rays carried the power of chaos and disintegration, attacking the trio from the most treacherous angles!
The three immediately stood back-to-back, each using their own methods to defend. Chen Ping’s sword intent slashed through the rays; Cen Biqing formed a protective shield with her azure dragon breath; Old Black, thick-skinned and tough, took the hits head-on.
Yet the rays were endless, and as the labyrinth shifted, the attacks grew denser and more unpredictable.
“We can’t just keep defending like this!”
Chen Ping’s mind raced. He recalled the spatial insights he had gained in the fourth-floor subspace, as well as the true nature of the Demon-Suppressing Tower: it had been formed from the natal demon core of a great demon sovereign, and its core was the laws of space!
“I understand!”
A flash of clarity lit his eyes. “This labyrinth is not invincible! It has core nodes! Find them, and we break the trap!”
He stopped attacking walls blindly. Instead, he combined his divine sense with the Heavenly Eye and poured all his focus into sensing the flow of spatial energy throughout the maze.
He abandoned visual distractions and “looked” purely through spatial perception.
Moments later, he snapped his eyes open and pointed the Dragon-Slaying Sword at what appeared to be an ordinary, ever-shifting corner of the labyrinth!
“There! Attack that point!”
Though Cen Biqing and Old Black did not understand, they trusted Chen Ping completely. They instantly turned and struck the spot he indicated with everything they had!
BOOM!
The combined attack of all three landed precisely on that spatial node!
The entire labyrinth shuddered violently. Every moving wall froze, then shattered and vanished like illusions!
The true appearance of the fifth floor was revealed: a modest stone chamber.
In the centre squatted a boy of about seven or eight years old, dressed in colourful clothes with a skyward braid.
Yet his eyes were filled with ancient weariness and cunning. His face was pale now, a trickle of blood at the corner of his mouth. Clearly, the destruction of his spatial labyrinth had caused him serious backlash.
