Brother Wei glanced down and saw a silver needle, shimmering with an eerie glow, pressed right against his throat; he could even faintly feel the stinging sensation coming from its tip.
Seeing his life under threat, Brother Wei naturally didn’t dare make any rash moves and quickly forced a smile, saying, “This, it was all just a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding, big brother, please don’t do anything impulsive!”
Before he could finish speaking, Xu Fei lifted his leg and kicked him, sending Brother Wei flying through the air. He soared high before crashing down onto his own Porsche with a loud bang!

Brother Wei was left gasping for breath. His lackeys rushed over, anxiously asking, “What, what do we do, Brother Wei?”
“Nonsense! Quick, call an ambulance!”
His underlings immediately dialled for an ambulance, while Xu Fei clapped his hands nonchalantly and walked into an office building on Ming’an Street.
As Xu Fei stepped inside, he noticed the building was brightly lit and had quite an impressive vibe.
He strode over to the reception desk and explained his purpose to the staff there.
Normally, people who came and went would only approach the desk to ask for directions.
But someone like Xu Fei, who walked straight up to the reception wanting to rent an office, was a rare sight indeed.
Still, someone who could handle such business was, to some extent, a potential big client for the building. The staff member immediately smiled politely and said, “Please wait here for a moment, I’ll go notify our manager right away!”
Xu Fei nodded, stepped back a few paces, and sat down on the sofa in the lounge area behind him.
After a while, the receptionist returned, looking a bit embarrassed, and said, “Er, sorry about this, sir, our manager isn’t here at the moment, but he told me there’s a call you absolutely must take!”
Looking at the phone the receptionist handed over, Xu Fei didn’t hesitate much and reached out to take it.
“Hello, this is Xu Fei, who’s this?”
“Major General! You really are a busy man with a short memory! It’s me, Huang Chengyun! You saved my life back in the day!”
The name Huang Chengyun did spark a faint memory for Xu Fei.
He recalled that when he was still in the army, he had saved someone who seemed to go by that name. Later, after Huang Chengyun retired and returned to civilian life, he had apparently come to the capital, but Xu Fei had long since lost contact with him.
Yet Huang Chengyun sounded incredibly enthusiastic on the phone.
“Major General, don’t worry! When I heard from Bai Zhan that you’d come to the capital, I was puzzled and thought I should help you out, and now here you are!”
“I’m still away on a business trip, but I’ll be back on the first flight tomorrow morning. As for renting an office here, you can just deal with me directly!”
Huang Chengyun briefly explained over the phone that since leaving the army, he’d been working in real estate and knew the lay of the land in the capital like the back of his hand.
With a familiar face to help, things would go smoothly, and Xu Fei wasn’t in a particular rush, so he agreed.
After returning the phone and declining Huang Chengyun’s offer—via the receptionist—to arrange accommodation for him, Xu Fei got up and left the building.
Since Huang Chengyun wouldn’t be back until tomorrow morning anyway, Xu Fei decided to take a stroll around the capital, gather some intel, and see what he could find out.
