After all, based on what Xu Fei had just said, though he’d never encountered the Red Buddha Society himself, it was clear that Second Granduncle’s deception and Yao Yunxi’s disappearance were inextricably tied to them.
Since the Yao family couldn’t just sit back and ignore Yao Yunxi’s fate, teaming up with this miracle doctor seemed the smarter move.
“Doctor Xu, your proposal makes sense, and of course I can agree,” Yao Manyun said.
“But you know I can’t fully call the shots on this. I’ll talk to the others as soon as possible and let you know the moment I have an answer!”
Xu Fei nodded, pleased. Though it wasn’t set in stone yet, he figured it was pretty much a done deal, eight or nine out of ten.
After Yao Manyun left, Uncle He, who’d stepped out earlier, came rushing back.
“Doctor Xu! I’ve tracked down Yao Yuanzhou’s whereabouts! Come with me quick!”
Without a word, Xu Fei followed Uncle He out in a hurry.
Soon, Uncle He led him to a room. Stepping inside, Xu Fei realised it was the control hub for the Yao family’s entire security system.
As Xu Fei entered, Uncle He pointed straight at a large screen displaying the Yao estate’s surveillance footage.
“Look here, Doctor Xu! That kid left the estate about half an hour ago, then vanished. I’ve got people still searching for him!”
With a few quick moves, Uncle He pulled up footage from half an hour earlier, showing Yao Yuanzhou leaving the Yao estate.
The scene didn’t seem too unusual at first, but Xu Fei felt a twinge of confusion.
He’d hit Yao Yuanzhou’s sleep acupoint himself, which should’ve kept him out for at least two hours.
Yet, between searching Yao Yunxi’s room with Uncle He and Yao Manyun, less than an hour had passed, so how had Yao Yuanzhou woken up early?
Puzzled, Xu Fei kept watching the footage while mulling it over. Then he spotted a search bar and asked, “Uncle He, can I try that search bar?”
“Of course, Doctor Xu, go right ahead!”
Xu Fei sat down, typed Yao Yuanzhou’s name into the search bar, and hit enter.
The screen flickered, pulling up a slew of surveillance clips featuring Yao Yuanzhou.
To Xu Fei’s mild surprise, the Yao family’s recordings didn’t auto-delete, some even stretched back years!
Now intrigued, Xu Fei grabbed the mouse and started digging for more clues.
About five minutes in, he stumbled on something odd.
One clip showed Yao Yuanzhou leaving the estate with a large suitcase for no apparent reason, and instead of taking a car, he left on foot, which was rare.
Yao family heirs almost always travelled by car, hardly ever walking, making this seemingly normal action stand out as anything but.
Unfortunately, the Yao estate’s cameras only covered the immediate vicinity, losing track beyond that.
But in the last few seconds of the clip, Xu Fei noticed a camera mounted on a nearby utility pole.
