Talented Medical Son-in-law Chapter 1612

“Xu Fei, I advise you not to get too arrogant. This is still the capital, my Red Buddha Society’s territory!”

“Even if losing Elder Sushui doesn’t have much impact, if I die, the Red Buddha Society will never let you leave the capital alive!”

Gong Zisheng, still hiding behind the giant vase, clung to his defiance.

Hearing this, Xu Fei gave a faint smile before responding.

“Who said I was going to kill you? Clearly, there are things more important than that, don’t you think?”

After Xu Fei finished speaking, Gong Zisheng noticed another figure stepping into the study from the doorway. It was none other than Deacon Zhikong, who had miraculously survived.

“You… you’re not dead? It must be because Xu Fei went easy on you, right?”

Realisation hit Gong Zisheng instantly. Someone as powerful as Elder Sushui had just been reduced to a corpse on the spot, let alone a mere deacon.

The only reason Deacon Zhikong was still alive had to be because Xu Fei had deliberately spared him.

“You’re right, he can’t die,” Xu Fei said. “After all, he’s going to teach you how to be a proper undercover agent next!”

At those words, Gong Zisheng instinctively recoiled and snapped, “Undercover? Hmph! Who do you think I am, Gong Zisheng? How could I ever agree to become your spy?”

But no sooner had his words left his mouth than the red lantern flared up again, slowly rising into the air until it hovered near the study’s ceiling.

This time, no matter where Gong Zisheng tried to hide, there was no escape.

At the same time, he felt the true qi in his body reacting like petrol near a flame, on the verge of igniting.

Anyone who had witnessed Elder Sushui’s horrific death by self-immolation would do anything to avoid such a fate.

So, helplessly, Gong Zisheng sank into a mix of contemplation and inner conflict.

Seizing the moment while his opponent was distracted by this painful internal struggle, Xu Fei swiftly flicked his hand, sending another silver needle shooting out. It struck Gong Zisheng square in the forehead, embedding itself deep within.

The method Xu Fei used this time was similar to how he had controlled Deacon Zhikong, but after the ambush in this courtyard, he had clearly realised that approach wasn’t very effective.

So Xu Fei changed tactics. The needle he’d just fired no longer carried a monitoring command, it was now solely for execution.

The task of surveillance would be handed over to someone else.

At the same time, this particular needle held extraordinary significance.

Infused with the power of yang, once it entered Gong Zisheng’s body, he’d be utterly powerless to resist or struggle, no matter how much he wanted to.

Unless, of course, Gong Zisheng was so fiercely loyal to the Red Buddha Society that he’d sacrifice his own life at a critical moment to prove his faith and devotion.

But judging from Gong Zisheng’s earlier hesitation and inner turmoil, he was clearly not that kind of righteous, unwavering soul.

“I’d advise you not to move, unless you want to end up in a state even more miserable than Elder Sushui!” Xu Fei warned Gong Zisheng, then dialled Hell’s Ear on his phone.

“Lord Junshao, how may I assist you?”

“I’ve got a rather tricky surveillance task here. I’m wondering if you have any solutions to help me pull it off.”

Xu Fei explained the situation in detail to Hell’s Ear over the phone.

He figured that with Hell’s Ear’s capabilities, rigging Gong Zisheng with some highly discreet listening devices would be a piece of cake. But to his surprise, Hell’s Ear didn’t respond quite as expected.
