Realising he wasn’t dead yet, Xu Fei snapped his eyes open. The pure Yang energy that had bolted earlier was back, now transformed into a golden mask with no eyes, just a gaping mouth, eagerly devouring the crimson mist.
“Come back! Get back here!”
The massage parlour boss, clearly rattled, tried frantically to recall the crimson mist. But it was like a thin pancake, firmly caught by the pure Yang energy, unable to budge.
So the two of them could only watch as the pure Yang energy gobbled up the crimson mist completely. Xu Fei’s heart leapt with joy, thinking he might just have a shot at survival.
The boss, meanwhile, staggered, blood trickling from his mouth. That dish had held his own blood, tied to his life force, and with the mist consumed, he suffered a backlash.
“Well played, kid, you’ve got some tricks up your sleeve! If you’re not leaving me a way out, let’s see how you handle this!”
Instead of raging, the boss laughed through his injury, shifting his gestures. The flame in the dish with the hair flared up, releasing a foul stench. Then a massive black mist surged forward, blotting out the sky.
Halfway, the black mist morphed into a hideous ghost face, looking ready to swallow both the pure Yang energy and Xu Fei in one gulp.
“Bloody hell!”
Xu Fei’s heart raced with panic. Though both were faces, the ghost face looked far larger than the golden mask formed by his pure Yang energy.
But to his surprise, when the ghost face reached the pure Yang energy, the mask took a deep breath, swelling three or four times larger, and swallowed the ghost face whole.
*Bang!*
In an instant, the dish with the hair shattered. The boss coughed up a gush of blood, clearly badly hurt.
“I don’t believe it! I’ve trained for years, and I’m outdone by some snot-nosed kid? Lord Evil King, aid me!”
The boss, now crazed, leapt up, hair wild, dancing around the remaining ghost doll like a shaman. His chants sped up, growing ever more obscure and incomprehensible.
Finally, he finished the incantation. The ghost doll’s eyes suddenly shot out beams of light, and it came to life!
The doll zipped toward the pure Yang energy, landing a punch that sent the mask flying, crashing into the wall, unable to get up.
At that moment, Xu Fei felt a sharp pain in his gut. Like the voodoo master, he was linked to his pure Yang energy, and its damage hit him too.
“Hahaha! You thought you could ruin my plans, kid? Today, I’ll sacrifice you to Lord Evil King!”
The boss cackled, directing the ghost doll to charge straight at Xu Fei.
But at the critical moment, the pure Yang energy that had been knocked away came roaring back. It took another deep breath, expanding to the size of a wall, then opened its mouth, unleashing a terrifying suction that yanked the ghost doll right in.
*Burp~*
Having feasted three times, the pure Yang energy let out a satisfied belch.
