Talented Medical Son-in-law Chapter 1684

Xu Fei headed downstairs to the basement’s right side, where he spotted a rack lined with nine transparent glass jars. Each was half-filled with an odd-smelling, clear liquid, with clumps of long hair soaking inside.

Xu Fei reckoned these were hairs the voodoo master had secretly snipped from his targets, stored for cursing them after they left.

Without hesitation, he grabbed a nearby stool and smashed the jars to bits, then set the hair ablaze to destroy it all.

With the basement sorted, Xu Fei returned upstairs and led the woman out of the place.

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll be off. Your condition should be fine now!”

Once they’d left the rundown residential courtyard, Xu Fei said his goodbyes, ready to go.

But the woman wasn’t having it, refusing to let him slip away so easily. She quickly grabbed his arm, pulling it close to her.

“You… you can’t just leave like that! What if… what if there’s some aftereffect or the illness comes back?”

Seeing her pout and cling, Xu Fei felt a bit helpless, realising shaking her off might not be so simple.

Just then, he spotted a taxi rolling up, and a plan sparked in his mind.

“Alright, let’s get out of here by car first.”

Xu Fei flagged down the taxi, and when it stopped, the woman’s face lit up with delight.

Like a proper gent, Xu Fei opened the car door for her, and she slid inside happily.

But in a flash, Xu Fei slammed the door shut, tossed a few hundred quid to the driver, and shouted, “Mate, take her as far as you can!”

With the fare in hand, the driver didn’t care about whatever drama was between Xu Fei and the woman. He floored the accelerator, and the car sped off.

Only when the taxi vanished down the road did Xu Fei let out a long breath, muttering, “Phew, finally rid of her.”

He pulled out his phone, initially thinking to call Duanmu Qing for some intel, but then reconsidered. The real priority was tracking down that escaped voodoo master.

So Xu Fei dialled Hell’s Ear instead.

“Track someone for me, now!”

He described the fugitive voodoo master over the phone, and Hell’s Ear replied, “Don’t worry, Young Marshal, this bloke’s not getting away!”

Hearing such confidence, Xu Fei knew Hell’s Ear must have a solid plan, so he felt reassured.

After a long day, his stomach was rumbling, so Xu Fei popped into a roadside diner for a quick bite.

About an hour later, just as he set down his chopsticks, his phone buzzed again.

“Oi, Young Marshal, I’ve got the guy’s whereabouts. Sending it now!”

Sure enough, Xu Fei’s phone pinged with a notification. Hell’s Ear had sent him the coordinates of the escaped voodoo master’s location.
